- JJonYorkshire •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoThe food was delicious, the service friendly and professional and the restaurant itself is attractive and comfortable, with plenty of parking. The menu isn't huge, but the choice is good enough and a nice mix of the traditional and the inventive. Ingredients are all of the highest quality. It's not the cheapest place to eat, but given the quality of the food, I think it represents pretty good value. I don't drink, so I can't comment with authority on the wine list, though I thoroughly enjoyed my non-alcoholic cocktail. It is also the first restaurant I have been in for years which automatically offered tap water for the table, without having to ask. This should be a given in all restaurants, especially here in Yorkshire, where the tap water is so good - it costs nothing and is always appreciated. All the food we had was perfectly cooked. The Gelato is homemade and is some of the best I have ever had - including in Italy Whilst accessibility is excellent throughout the restaurant, including the toilets, I only really had one minor niggle - I am 60, and my eyes aren't quite as good these days . . . the "mood" lighting, whilst looking attractive, is a bit dim, and the menus are printed in quite a small font - I had to use the torch on my phone to read the menu! It's not anything that would stop me going back, and to be honest, everything else about Devour is so good, I almost feel embarrassed mentioning it. Maybe they could have a couple of menus in "large print" for old duffers like me?
