Celebration Weekend Skidmore with the family!
The food was very good but the room was too noisy to talk over and the table was a bit cramped.
Delicious. They were extremely accommodating in allowing us to sit at a table for four even thought they were very busy and we promised we would be finished before the reservation an hour and fifteen later. I appreciated that as we didn't want to sit at the table for two in the center of the room with people on both sides. So that was nice. Waitress was wonderful and helpful/kind. Kept coming back to check. Food was terrific. A fun and delicious dinner.
The first time I went to Forno Bistro, about 6 months ago, the food was fantastic! Fresh pasta, fresh sauce, great flavor! Everything tasted homemade. I've gone three times since then and the experience gets worse each visit. I will not be dining here again. The meatballs tasted gummy and frozen, the pasta was not fresh and undercooked (I prefer al dente, but not still crunchy), the tastes were bland. I'm disappointed.
First visit and not looking to hurry back.
Two person tables are side by side so private conversations are impossible.
Ordered the pasta special of scallops and beef tip on a Monday. It was ok but the scallop pieces might have equaled one and a half scallops, inconsistent (rare/fat, grizzled, medium) bits of beef might have equaled two real bites.
If priced similar to the menu choices it would've been more acceptable. We never asked, it ended up being higher than any menu item other than octopus. Was obviously leftover scallops from the weekend as they are not in any menu choice and shortly after ordering we overheard the special change to shrimp and beef.
Packed in like Sardines, almost no room between tables, very crowded and noisy. Tables tiny, barely enough room for plates. God forbid an emergency or a fire descend on the place. I am a nurse and care for burnvictims from the Station fire in Rhode Island. Tragic and horrifying. I had thought that the most recent renovation would have addressed the safety issues of this rabbit warren of a space. I am surprised, no, appalled that the Saratoga FD and local agencies have given this place a certificate of occupancy. The entrance/exit alone is tiny and hidden. Why not expand out to the front patio to expand indoor space. Not returning anytime soon
We usually have a great time at Forno, but I asked for a table near a window and we ended up in the path of the wait staff that was not near one. Also, it was my birthday and no accommodations were made. Furthermore, I ordered the shrimp and beans appetizer, which only came with four shrimp (definitely had more in the past) and it was over cooked. I informed wait staff of the same, but nothing was done to rectify the issue.
Enjoyed our dinner and the "Forno" experience. Always like hanging at the bar for a happy hour drink first. Great blood red orange martinis. Then we sat in the dining room for dinner. We usually eat between 5:30 and 6:00 pm (which I know is a little early) and it is more quiet then. As the evening progressed more groups came in and the dining room was very busy. It got pretty loud when a large group was seated nearby with about 12-14 people. It was almost hard to talk and be heard. Our waiter Rutherford was very attentive and helpful. The hostess was very pleasant too.
Steve was our server and as usual, he is awesome. Food was great, drinks were tasty.
We were at a two-top, seeted right next to another two top that was only a few inches away from us. The restaurant was extremely loud, and we had to shout to be heard. It was difficult to enjoy the experience because of the noise level. The food was good, but expensive. Our waiter was very friendly but quite busy, so we had to wait a bit for drink refills. We were not in a rush, so it didn't bother us too much.
Everything is really great about this restaurant except the noise level - my friends and I could not carry on a conversation without leaning over the table.
Would have been five stars but one of our entrees was not what we ordered. We ate it because it is my experience not to send things back to the kitchen. Maybe next time
Seating a 2-top table next to a very large party is not enjoyable for the 2-top. Could not even have a conversation and got locked in while orders were taken. Too small of a place for large tables without ruining the dining experience for others. Waitress was outstanding. For the price, the food was not that great. $19 for an entree of pasta and no side salad or frills is a rip off. Love the decor though.
Excellent restaurant and food! A little bit slow for service with cocktails, but I assume the bar was backed up on a busy Saturday night. Highly recommend.

Vacation date night.
Everything food related and service related was very good. The table was too small for all of the food related items required for our meal. We were constantly making piles and condensing things to make room for necessities.
Great dinner that began with the Arancini, then had the swordfish which was served with potatoes, asparagus and green beans. My wife had the eggplant parmesan. Waitstaff was very attentive.

If your hungry go there to eat. If you want good food go there to eat. Wait staff was very attentive.

The food would have received five stars if it were hotter. Our waitress was overloaded with tables, and consequently, our food had cooled quite a bit before reaching our table.
Our recent visit to Forno Bistro was great. Forno has alwAys been a Saratoga favorite, but our previous visit had been a little off and I was hoping that was just an aberration. Well Forno really redeemed itself... the food was great and the staff was fantastic.
Reunion dinner of four friends. Food was spectacular. Service was even better! Jess, our waitress, was spot on with specials recommendations, as well as overall menu knowledge.
Our appetizers were meatballs, which were a great mix of beef, pork and veal with a nice marinara and melted mozzarella, and also a grilled shrimp with grilled artichoke hearts with Tuscan beans and cherry tomatoes with a balsamic reduction.
Entrees were: linguine with white clam sauce, which had at least a dozen little neck clams and was nice and garlicky and not too soupy; a New York strip steak grilled to perfection; veal rollantini stuffed with spinach mozzarella prosciutto shallots with a truffle duxelle; and a slow-cooked pork shank dry-rubbed with coriander and brown sugar, served with cipollini onion agrodolce.
All four of us shared an order of freshly fried zeppoles. A perfect way to end the meal.
If you are in Saratoga Springs, do not miss eating here. Wow.
I have dined at Forno Bistro a number of times and have not been disappointed. Food is always excellent, service is usually spot on, and the ambiance is great. I did have a small issue this past time dining there. It seemed the hostesses had some difficulty with a seating request. I and my party arrived early fully aware that I would most likely not be seated then (not a problem since the bar and bar tenders are excellent). At arrival I requested to be seated inside as opposed to outside. Hostess said that should not be a problem. At time of seating we were going to be seated outside, even after my request. I did remind hostess I had asked for in inside table, and after a few minutes we were accommodated. I realize that a Saturday night in August, during Saratoga track season is a very busy time, but feel this should be noted.
I love Forno; hadn't been there since I moved but it was delicious as always. The noise level was very high but the restaurant was crowded and it was a Saturday night; I'm used to dining there during the week. My only complaint is that maybe the restaurant needs to police the parking lot........when inconsiderate people, and there were two, choose to park their vehicles in two spaces it is rude and inconsiderate. Add in that Forno only has one handicapped space .........the two space-hogs made it impossible for a handicapped person to park near the restaurant; I had to drop my husband off and park two blocks away. If this were to happen again I would stop dining at Forno.
A bit too crowded where we were placed and very loud. We were at the high table close to the bar. Food very good and service was excellent.
Amazing food, each member of our party was absolutely thrilled with their selection. The server was knowledgeable and made great, detailed recommendations. It’s a pretty venue, with a very energetic noise level. Tables are a tad too close together.
Always great food and experience. The noise in the front dining room was deafening, making it difficult e even to communicate with waitstaff. Will definitely request patio seating next visit.
Not our first visit to Forno and definitely not our last. The only unfortunate set back was our seating by the entrance. It was a cold evening and all of the guests were uncomfortable, forcing us to leave before dessert.
Contemporary Italian cuisine. Great space. Has both inside and outside seating. Rectangle bar that was packed. Food was fantastic and the service was on point. Highly recommend for parents visiting the college to take their young adults there. Can see it being a great place to catch up with friends too. Give it a try!
Great spot for dinner after a day at the races. Good food and ambiance on the patio. A bit noisy inside though.

Great location, fabulous food, friendly staff, but took a long time for everything. In their defense, it was a very busy evening due to a big racing day.
Great meal and overall service on Travers night! It was packed!! Menu items were flavorful and delicious. Only complaint was a glass of wine I ordered ahead of my main course not arriving for 15-20minutes as I was just finishing my meal. Way too few bathrooms (2 unisex) for the amount of seats causing lines also less than ideal. Still highly recommend as always. Calamari was exceptional. Olive and Mushroom Pizza amazing and the Cioppino out of this world.
