Except the fake smile from the reception desk on 4th floor, everything is good. The desert could be less sweet.
Excellent service. Even gave us cake to take home.
It's an excellent place to enjoy my 1'st time gluten-free high tea.
One of the best afternoon tea sets in town. Excellent tea selection.
Not as good as last year, service was slow, food was not as expected, we ordered 5 afternoon tea and they only brought 4.
Friendly and unstuffy service that still made us feel really special. The food is delicious and kept coming - endless refills of tea and as many little sandwiches and cakes as you could eat, plus cake to take home. A wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion.
Scones, esp cheese scones, are a bit too dry and not up to my expectations. Tea is good, love that it could be refilled & it’s impressive that customers could literally try everything they want before they shop.
Fabulous- Jose was amazing and attentive- didn’t realise you could have ‘refills’
Very pleasant time and relaxing
Toilets were clean too!
Lovely service, tasty food. Went for the high tea this time. The scotch egg was interesting and tasted great but next time I’ll get the beef wellington as that was really great !
I also always appreciate the try all the teas concept. As always left full
Had to wait long for any service, so did not get to try the tea’s we wanted to. Waited for like 20-30mins to be served. Food was nothing special
The service is brilliant! Afternoon tea taste is very good.
Food and service was poor. They forgot to give me the jam until we asked for it.
This is a must experience every time you are in London. The scones are fresh. The sandwiches are great. And the ambiance is pure English decadence.
Beautiful setting , however the service was a bit off, they left items off our tea stands which we asked for and they forgot about again. Same with the cake at the end. Food was delicious though, especially the chocolate cake.
Amazing afternoon tea experience. Beautiful place, great service, best quality products. We definitely loved it. A must for us whenever we are in London.
We didn't enjoy the experience at all and would definitely not recommend Fortnum and Mason. The service was absolutely appalling. Our waiter took our order and never returned to the table to see if we needed anything. Took 15 minutes to get his attention to order more sandwiches. Had to remind him twice about them and they eventually turned up. Sane with regards to a refill of tea. Then he disappeared completely for 40 minutes after a row with the manager. Would not go back.
I love the ambiance of Fortnum and Masons. Per usual the service was top notch. Don’t miss out on an the opportunity to have afternoon tea here!!
We decided to go to Fortnum & Mason because we thought that it would be a good place to celebrate a birthday. From start to finish we were disappointed. The tea room needs a bit of love. It seems like it has seen a grander era and has been left to wear away slowly. We arrived on time and while there were a lot of tables available we were asked to wait. When we were seated, our waiter came quickly but that was pretty much the last time. We ate our sandwiches, which were average, our scones, which were fine and pastries, which were okay. I thought that this being Fortnum and Mason that we would be wowed by the selection, but alas no.
It was the service, however, that has caused me to write. The waiters have tunnel syndrome and never look beyond the table they are working. Often, there was no one working the room. We wanted to get extra tea. It took us 10 minutes to get noticed and then another 15 to get the tea. When we got the tea, we asked for an extra plate of sandwiches, and it took 20 minutes (I timed it) to get a plate with 5 finger sandwiches. While the waiter apologized, we figured that we had spent more time waiting for our food and tea than actually eating and drinking. Definitely not impressed and would not recommend.
From the minute you walk into Fortnum's it is magical, the shop is beautiful and a fabulous start to an even more fabulous experience.
The tea room is beautiful in soft colours and light and airy, a piano is played softly for your entertainment but it is not intrusive.
From the moment you walk in you are made to feel special, never hurried to make a decision, there are so many amazing tea's it takes a little time to decide, the staff are courteous and attentive and you want for nothing.
I would recommend the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon to anybody who wants a lovely afternoon where you are made to feel very special.
Loved the food, ambiance, service. All in all a much more superior high tea compared to the 5-star hotels.
Nice relaxed afternoon tea. Friendly staff, plenty to eat.
Tea is excellent, but the quality of service needs to be improved, since the waiter responded our requests really slow.
The service was horrible and disappointing. The waiter disappered and we were never checked on.
Had a wonderful time. The server was knowledgeable and attentive. We were seated by a window and the room was beautifully set. The only reason I gave 4 stars was it was rather hot it the room. There were two of us and our server recommended a sweet and a savory. Both were wonderful. Our tea was refilled as needed and extra foods we loved were brought around a second time. She even tried to pack up extra cake for later but we were stuffed!!
Afternoon tea perfection. Everything tasted wonderful. Make sure to have a slice of Victoria sponge at the end. The slices of cake are included and if you don’t have room they will box up a slice for takeaway.
Really good food but service was very bad. We had never been to tea before and our waitress suggested we get
Two different things but it ended up being far too much food and then once it came every other table had an introduction to what was on their tea platter. We did not. We had to ask 3 times for water. We had maybe 3 different waiters and had to wait 45 minutes to get any attention at all from the wait staff
Excellent service. Food was good，though not particularly impressive.
I had high expectation here:these preconceptions were met most of the time, but our server was a little less than helpful and attentive. He disappeared for long periods of time; we had to ask another server to refill our tea. I guess I expected top-notch service here, and this service was just fair to good. For the amount of money one spends on a tea here, one would expect much better. Still, the experience was an overall good one.
Wonderful gluten free afternoon tea. Delicious little sandwiches and terrific scones. Excellent service
Mediocre quality of food and tea for premium prices
We had a lovely afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason. It is elegant and posh without being pretentious. I took my 12 week old baby with us and we were made to feel welcome and given a discreet table for breastfeeding. The waiter was fantastic and made us feel very special.
Unfortunately we had a long wait for our tea. When it finally arrived, mine was cold and we had already eaten half the food as we got fed up of waiting. When we asked for refills of tea, that again took so long that in the end we had to give up and leave as we had a train to catch.
Such a shame as this was a much looked forward to celebration of our 20th wedding anniversary.
lovely experience. Could definitely have been better. Perhaps a little too busy as the wait was long before orders were taken.
Some of the sandwiches were dry.
Food intolerances were not significantly followed. But corrected immediately once high lighted.
Overall, positive experience but service is slightly disappointing.
Outstanding service, couldn't do enough for us. They gave us everything we wanted, they had decaf tea and at the end they bought out a cake with a candle for my friend's birthday. This was my third visit and I'd go every week if I could. Wonderful.
My daughter and I had a wonderful afternoon tea. The service was excellent and our server made a great recommendation to get one sweet and one savory tea menu. Only complaint was the room was very noisy. Overall a great experience I would highly recommend.
Jose our waiter was amazing. Our family enjoyed the tea service immensely. Definitely recommend!
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TEA!
In this occasion the Tea was so bad I needed to order a Coffee?
Table service was poor and difficult to get assistance from the staff. Lots of people at reception infact more than serving the tea.
The tiered cake stands were incomplete.
When asked for help it was looked upon as a chore. Price was reasonable but not for the service and quality of the Tea!
Lovely service and ambience. I’ve had tea here on many occasions and it’s the first time some of the sandwich bread was dry. Everything else was as good as on previous visits. Hopefully this was just a one off
We had a great time! There was much more food than we expected so you won’t need a heavy lunch or dinner that day!
Amazing afternoon tea, best I have had. As I’m gluten free I normally miss out on may things at an afternoon tea but the food was great and they couldn’t do enough for us! In fact we ate prob to much and had to take left overs home! Would def go back again
