The Tea Salon was a fantastic experience and worth every penny! A must do!
Waiting over 30 min with no designated waiting area where drinks could not be bought. Not enough seats while waiting. We’re offered complimentary glass of bubble tea after we were seated. Not good enough for such a long waiting time. No system of announcing when the table became available. Good service from the waitress but are Much better places for these money
The food is amazing, the place is really chic and cosy. Would recommend to anyone up for a very tasty afternoon tea
Everything about our Afternoon Tea experience was wonderful. The food was excellent and the waiting staff were a real delight.
Food was lovely, we had a savoury tea and a high tea so we had a great variety. Food service was good but they were slow with bringing fresh tea. It was very busy and they were possibly a bit low on waiting staff but overall service was very friendly, food was great and we really enjoyed our afternoon.
Arrived five minutes early only to be seated 15 minutes after the booking time. Booking was for four but initially seated at a table prepared for three, right in the main thoroughfare of waiting staff. The experience didn't really meet my expectations and was definitely over-priced when compared to a meal out or similar event.
Nice atmosphere. All the staff very friendly, helpful. Lovely food which could be topped up if you had room! Was ideal to take our daughter for her 16th birthday without it feeling too posh
Amazing service and excellent food!
The location is lovely; however , the price is too high for what is offered.
It was a nice experience but I have had much nicer afternoon tea for a lot less!! It was nice to have a savoury option.
Marianna was our server and she was Fantastic ! She suggested different types of teas , sandwiches and savouries to make our afternoon enjoyable. She took the time to explain all the flavours with enthusiasm and with a fun attitude.
We had a wonderful experience. Thank you Marianna - from the Canadians :)
We celebrated our wedding with a family party last year and our first anniversary this year with friends for High Tea. I suspect this will become an annual event.
Birthday celebration. It was good company. Service ok. She forgot about us a lot.
The service was very good, great selection of tea mixtures, the tea was very good, I recommend the royal blend. The food was very average, and not worth the price, but as an experience it is something special that I would recommend people to try.
The perfect valentine day treat
Valentines Afternoon Tea - exceptional service
On this occasion No the service was poor waited twice half an hour to get plate replenished and afternoon tea over priced. However they did redeem themselves (Anna our waitress) by apologising and give no us aglass of champagne, plates replenish and did not add service charge.
A truly wonderful afternoon. Cannot fault anything. Excellent food. Perfect service. Beautiful tea salon. Good vegetarian and vegan menus.
Overall we had a wonderful time for tea on Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere, the food and the staff friendliness were top notch. The dining room manager was extremely helpful as we arrived. When we were seated there was a flurry of attentiveness about the teas, ordering, explanation of the menus and ordering initial drinks. Then, slowly, over the afternoon, this attentiveness started to disappear. We asked for additional sandwiches which took a long time to arrive and even though the restaurant wasn’t full, it felt like we had been a bit forgotten! However when we asked the manager Yannis about the sandwiches he was immediately very helpful and solved the problem. He apologised and gave us a complimentary glass of champagne and made sure the sandwiches arrived soon after – and we had a friendly chat with him and found him to be a very nice man. So in the end our Valentine’s Day tea at Fortnum’s was a success but for the above, this is the reason for my 4 star rating – it could have been 5 stars!
A wonderful afternoon tea! We had a very memorable experience with impeccable service. We couldn’t eat everything they served as there was so much! We took a huge doggy bag home and 2 days later we are still enjoying their most fabulous chocolate cake! We won’t need to go every week but perfect as a treat for me, my mother and my 12 year old daughter.
They said they may even name a blended tea - strawberry and peach - after my daughter so do look out for the “lilybee” blend!!
Everything was perfect for my Valentines Day anniversary afternoon tea! My server Jose was excellent! I would like to thank all the staff, I noticed how they all work together. I highly recommend this restaurant. I plan to bring my husband next time we’re in London. 🇬🇧
Beautiful location, food and tea were delicious, except scones.... dry. Service was okay, not attentive, didn’t ask if we needed anything or clear dishes. Then told choice of cake to choose from and it was brought in boxes to go. Disappointed.
Whilst it was very enjoyable, I feel other places offer a more exclusive afternoon tea experience, even if we have to pay a little more for that.
This was a retirement gift and a birthday celebration. Great Ambiance, Delicious food & champagne, superb service with additional birthday surprises. Would recommend. Thanks for a special afternoon.
It was amazing ! The dishes served as well as the tea were fabulous! The staff is very attentive. I highly recommend this experience
Very nice experience. Highly recommended. The staff were very polite and friendly
I do not write reviews much on opentable, HOWEVER, this had to be done because of some commentd that might turn off customers from this amazing experience. I have seen teamwork as its best in this place like no where before. The manager Hartice moves tables open doors and takes trays to help her employees be attentive.
Onahy our hostess was AMAZING she looked after us the whole stay making sure we had everything right.
A true experience that will NOT be forgotten.
The place was noisy for a relaxed evening - but given the place and its history u will not be able to find it quiet.
Downturns might be *The piano is hardly heard and value of money might be expensive
Lovely old-fashioned room, good service, and although the tea doesn't look much when it's brought out, you can get refills of everything, so we came out too full to eat the 'extra' cake offered, so they boxed it up in lovely F&M packaging to take home. Slightly expensive, but for a special treat, it's delightful.
I came to celebrate my mums 50th birthday with the afternoon tea and we had a lovely time. The service was great and Irene really looked after us well. Everyone was lovely, food was delicious as we got both the traditional and savoury afternoon tea. They kept refilling plates and even let us take cakes and pastries home. Would 100% recommend this experience!
Probably our favorite experience we had on our trip. Amazing service and yummy food plus great ambiance. Will definitely be back!
Good food and service, excellent ambience.
But overall, excesive prize (bear in mind you are neither eating elaborated high cuisine meals nor expensive products and you are not drinking valued wines...
Very nice experience. Very good tea and sandwiches and scones. In my opinion a bit pricy for the value though
I have been for afternoon tea here before and thoroughly enjoyed it. I wanted a lovely treat for my mother in law and thought this would be a great treat to show her how much we appreciate her.
I booked for 3pm as we had to leave about 4.40 and I knew tables were booked for approx 1 1/2 hours if 2 people. When we arrived last time someone took our coats and we were seated straight away. It felt quite exclusive and special. This time we arrived and it felt very busy and disorganised. We were asked to take our own coats to the cloakroom and take a seat to wait. There were approx. 4 other groups waiting for tables and a further party arrived and stated that they had a reservation for 3.15. They were then seated before anyone waiting. It was now 3.10and I expressed to staff that I had a booking for 3pm before this party and was on a tight time frame. I don’t think they understood what I was explaining but said they would get us the next table. A further party got a table (unclear of reservation time). It was now 3.15pm and I asked staff and again explained situation. They assured me we would get a seat and we were seated by 3.20. It felt much more cramped than the last time we were there and definately felt less exclusive. The waitress next to us asked for our tea/water and if ready to order. We assured her we were and gave our order. We got some water within a few minutes but by 3.40 we still had revived no tea or food. I yet again went to ask staff and stated my concern about time. The food and tea came within 5 minutes. The waitress was lovely throughout but I felt we had to keep asking for more food items rather than being checked if we needed anything.
At 4.35 I went to find a waitress to ask if we could box up a piece of cake from the trolley and our scones as we had ran out of time. She stated she would do this. I went to desk to pay but was advised that we would do this at the table.
