Fortnum & Mason can cater for a variety of private events, from an intimate dinner party to a private shopping reception up to 1000 guests. These days, our restaurants and function rooms are more impressive than ever and can accommodate gatherings great and small, from business events and product launches to birthday parties and weddings. Even our historic shop floor is available for hire, and our range of catering and entertainment options can be entirely scaled to suit.
Very noisy, and ideal for a quick bite based around wine, rather than a meal with wine added. The menu was a little light but we can see why as is is first and foremost about the wine. Might pop in again, probably wouldn't bother booking as other places nearby much better for a meal and a chat.
Excellent staff, very welcoming, the food was delicious and the wine choices were endless..the atmosphere on Friday night was amazing...will be back very soon..
Went for a little treat with my adult daughters- two of us opted for champagne flights the other had a wine flight
Was served quickly and politely with all the wines described in great detail and recommended order for drinking
We also had some very tasty nibbles
Was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours albeit a fairly expensive experience but great as an occasional treat especially as the flights change regularly meaning there would always be something different to try
Our cheeky little refreshment stop after a good shopping experience. Cold wine, beautiful hand made cheese straws, great bar food and very friendly accommodating staff.
Went for flight of wine and cheese plate. Usual fabulous experience.
Staff were super, from greeter to waitress. We will be back.
Great service, great wine & great food! We spent the perfect afternoon and are looking forward to our next visit.
The service was superb and very professional. We really enjoyed the pasta and glass of wine deal at lunchtime.
Enjoyed our pre-theater wine and appetizers. The steak tartare was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Will return on our next trip to London.
We have been to the wine bar many times and everytime we have an amazing time there is nothing you can fault. Service. Food wine atmosphere staff all excellent. And the staff are very attentive we always learn something more about the wine everytime. It’s an amazing place and cannot wait till we go again. Wish we had this where we live. We will be back. Love this place. Thanks for a great afternoon and it was my husbands birthday and they brought out a cake with a candle and sang happy birthday what a great touch.
Most enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle. Friendly and professional service, lovely wine and delicious food. The portions of the dishes we ordered could have been a touch bigger, hence the value for money not scoring higher but on the whole it was lovely. I would definitely return, especially to enjoy one of the wine flights.
We love coming to Fortnum and Mason before our summer exhibition visit. Not been to the wine bar before, still the same excellent food and great service. Just with a more intimate ambience and exciting selection of wine.
Fortnum and Mason Wine Bar is always fabulous and this visit was no different. Particularly love the lobster bridge rolls and the rarebit. Perfect venue for a pre theatre lunch.
It's not insanely expensive not cheap but the name over the door is a factor.
The setting is the wine cellar surrounded by bar seats then tables further out. I thought it was smart-casual with a strong hint towards quiet conversation or small groups getting together.
I was able to sample several wines I saw on the menu that I consider unusual e.g. white Bordeaux or one derived from grapes actually grown on Mt Etna............a decent amount for a proper taste with an explanation of what flavours should be notable.
Food is more European-style tapas to stave off the booze - post-England match or Pride, that's a good thing. The Scotch egg with piccalilli was tasty but a bit dry so the wine was a necessity! It's a shame the kitchen couldn't be certain foods were gluten-free so my friend, on past experience, chose to risk the cured meats - no fallout!
The menu changes so will go back
Perfect place for a spot of lunch on a hot day in London! Three of us had lunch here on a very hot day and it was very nice, cool and quiet. We shared a few plates and they were all nice, along with some lovely rosé wine. Would recommend if you want somewhere a bit out of the hustle and bustle.
Wonderful for a first anniversary
Top list of wines
Usually the highlight of our trip to London but extremely disappointing this visit....the staff were poor & v inattentive, the wine was excessively over priced & poor....I doubt we’ll bother going back until the raise their standards back to where they were
The tables in the entrance or middle are preferable to the ones near the kitchen as half the party will be staring at a plain wall. The wine list is lovely and varied, highly recommended.
A great place to get together with an old friend. No pressure to rush and get out. Good atmosphere and service.
Love the wine flights and cheese plates A great hidden gem in Fortnum and Mason
A lovely setting for a Sunday afternoon drinks and nibbles. The wait staff were very polite, efficient, and unobtrusive. Great people-watching too. The wine selection is -- as expected -- excellent and the food menu was varied and catered to a range of tastes. The fresh asparagus and avocado salad was delicious (and perfect in its serving size) as was the mozzarella arenciata. Highly recommended.
Excellent hidden gem within Fortnum&Mason Piccadilly
Despite them being short staffed and very busy, those who served us were attentive and the food and wine great.
Charming service and an extensive list of wines - all available by the glass. This is a wonderful quiet little bolt-hole away from the hassle of London.
We took my niece for her birthday and everyone loved it! Ordered a bottle of F&M Rose along with the charcuterie & cheese platter. The food was plentiful for three people, and the wine was lovely. The experience was excellent value for money, given the upscale environment. I'd come back again - for another special occasion or a glass of wine and a snack after a hard day's shopping! I'm happy to say this iconic London treasure is upholding its high standards.
Have loved this venue for a while now.. never disappoints. Food and menu are brilliantly paired. The staff are unfailingly attentive but not intrusive. Looking forward to a return visit.
Thoroughly enjoyed the champagne and cheese board. Delicious!
Always a great experience. Staff so friendly. Food good. Wine flights excellent.
Calm, attentive, good quality food and wine, reliable, excellent location, attractive but no fuss decoration. My favourite spot for lunch when in London.
Love this place. I enjoy the relaxed vibe and great food, especially the daily cheese board.
Nice atmospheric and classy basement bar - not easy to get that right inside a department store - with a short but varied menu if you want to eat and good and accessible wine list. Friendly and efficient service. Shuts at 8.30 but ideal for post-shopping, visiting Royal Academy or just meeting up.
Terrible experience. After we were seated we were informed that we had 45 minutes to order, eat & vacate the table as they had a private party to attend to. The portions were meager, prices ridiculously high, food quality passible.
Nice staff. Wines really well overpriced in my view for what you get however I am clearly aware these are London priced. Hence why I rate as "average" i.e. nothing was exceptional.
Elegant atmosphere, tantalising cocktails, beautifully crafted food and excellent service in this secluded, west end gem.
Great service - staff were excellent as usual and the food was great
Good little pre theatre spot. Great wine list and good service.
Always a good spot to meet after work for a decent glass of wine and tapas. Attentive and welcoming staff.
The Wine Bar on the lower ground of Fortnum’s is quite a find. Great atmosphere, good wine list and very nice food. The trio of salmons was delicious.
An oasis in the madness of busy London. Surprised my guest with birthday cake and drink without having to request it. Wonderful!
Service was attentive but not at all pushy. The bar was busy but it wasn’t noisy and we still had room. I would book again.
