About

This restaurant is permanently closed. Foxlow Chiswick follows on from the success of the original Clerkenwell location opened by Will Beckett and Huw Gott in 2013. Renowned as a great neighbourhood restaurant, Foxlow’s famous Fried chicken with habanero vinegar, apple & fennel slaw is one of the menu mainstays, alongside Slow-smoked pork spare ribs , Five pepper squid and steak cuts including Hanger, Flat Iron, Sirloin and Rib-Eye. From fish and seafood caught off the South Coast and Herdwick lamb to small, independent producers of cheeses and breads, Foxlow has won praise for its commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing. Similarly, local wine suppliers and breweries feature strongly on the drinks list. Add to this the legendary brunch menu and excellent Sunday roast and it is no wonder that Foxlow has built up an incredibly loyal following over the years.

Just weird stuff when new staff is too busy; somebody’s order came fast, some never. People would say they’d take care of stuff, then forget, repeatedly. Bottomless coffee not refilled. (In the US tradition you don’t have to ask, it’s just filled as a matter of course, of course!). Staff very nice, but distracted and ‘systems’ not working.

Second time visiting this restaurant and we left disappointed. Cocktails were good however both of our burgers were overcooked. There were also a lot of menu items unavailable which is unacceptable particularly at 7pm on a Saturday night.

2nd and probably last visit here. Food was poor, service was even worse. Letting the Hawksmoor group standards down.

I went out for a special mother's day lunch, I thought the the food was off poor quality and really over priced for what was served.

I had the salmon and everything was really oily and was also served vegetables on the side which was also full of butter, spinach and the potatoes were just drained in oil not a very nice tasting experience.

My mother had the sunday roast and this was very disappointing there was hardly any veggies served yorkshire pudding was tasteless.

The prices for these meals for fairly expensive and they also add service charge on top and i think as they are closing down in the next week that they just don't care anymore.

Very good and generous portions off meat. But poor service, poor menu choice, and only one vegetarian options.

We spent a very enjoyable Mother's Day here having the Sunday roast with friends. It was very busy but the staff did a great job. So it was a big surprise when we learned the next day that's it's closing next weekend as Foxlow weren't able to make it work in Chiswick. A pity. We've been a few times before, the staff have always been great and the space is attractive. The menu is perhaps a bit limited. We have a lot of choice of eateries in Chiswick but a shame that this one is going. I hope the staff all find alternative work.

Have been to Foxlow several times before and on each occasion it gets slightly worse.
Sunday lunch - steak was good, veg was just warm, Yorkshire pudding dry with a tiny amount gravy.
Service was particularly poor on this visit, having to ask more than once for condiments and cutlery and to order food!
There are a lot of great options in Chiswick for Sunday lunch so don't think we'll be going back anytime soon...

This was my first time dining at this restaurant, but my sister's 3rd. We were dining with a toddler, and we specifically ordered the toddler meal with the drinks as he was hungry (and is slow!). However, they managed to totally lose his order and only when the adult meals came out and I reminded them, did they go and ring it through. The mistakes my sister encountered on previous visits were similar - not major but a bit annoying. This restaurant has great food, a good kids menu and nice decor. It has the potential to be great, but it really needs to iron out the silly mistakes if it hopes to win favour with new diners and local regulars alike.

Food was excellent, So tasty.
Service was good, it did take a little while to grab somebodies attention however this could be blamed to a busy Sunday lunch time so I wouldn't hold that against them.
I will be back again!

I usually really like Foxlow's but this was my first time at the Chiswick branch and unfortunately all night long we had really overwhelming smells coming through the restaurant, alternating between a strong shampoo/perfume smell and sewage smell - really unpleasant when trying to enjoy your meal! The food was good as always but unfortunately overall experience was really impacted by the smells. Hopefully it was a one-off issue.

Food was good but the overall experience pretty poor. In a virtually empty restaurant we were seated by the loos from which, towards the end of the meal, and a really unpleasant smell. Staff were cleaning the restaurant around us and by the time we were walking out past bags of rubbish and bins full of empty bottles. Will never return. Shame because the food was good

Foxlow was brilliant! The ambiance was great with warm and friendly staff. We were given the option to sit near the bar or in a quieter area which they had reserved for us which was nice. The food was excellent! We ordered the chicken burger and the salmon. They kindly allowed me to swap the new potatoes and creme fraîche for fries and broccoli which was lovely. The portions are generous and it was all fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be returning in the future!

Although it wasn't at all clear that the set menu for 'Veganuary' was not available on Saturdays, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The vegan dishes I enjoyed were great and enjoyed too by our meat-loving friends. I will definitely return.

Nice place, but the food really disappointed. My squid starter was seriously overcooked and very tough (they replaced it with a better, but still not great, batch). My burger was overcooked and very tough (unusually for a meat restaurant I wasn't asked how I liked it cooked) and the fries were over-fried (they were more like crisps with no potato centre and which shattered when trying to pierce with a fork). The best thing was the ginger and sriracha mayo. The waiter kindly gave us the recipe, but we were concerned to see the main ingredient is pomace oil, which we've since learned is a very poor grade oil whose use has a controversial history due to known carcinogens that can be leftover from a chemical based extraction process. Is this a common ingredient in the restaurant trade? If not then I would be worried as to what else is hiding behind the menu?! Cocktails were nice though.

We went here on the first Saturday in January, to ease our January blues. The service was attentive and very pleasant. The food arrived in good time and was very enjoyable as was the wine. I really like the general ambience of this restaurant and the tables are well spread out. The main issue I have is there was a family at a large table by us and the children were shrieking and running around, with the parents fairly ambivalent to their noise. I saw the manager have a chat and the noise improved a bit for a short time. In the end we decided to leave early (about 8:30om) and I was glad to retreat to the peace and quiet of home.

Had ribs to start and chicken salad main, couldn't fault either the food was perfect. we went new years day seemed staffing was maybe down as very slow and our first round of drinks left on thebside getting warm until we chased them up, granted they apologised and we got them free. ambience average, lots of kids not the pubs fault but felt like wed been sat in a creche. Would go again fkr food and hope for better overall experience.

Sadly we waited over an hour for our food to be served and with two kids waiting it wasn’t ideal. There was no update as to where our food was and chased multiple times. In the end they did not charge us for food but the whole new year dinner wasn’t a great experience.

The food is tasty and reasonably priced. It is more comfort food but is prepared well. Desserts were more variable - some very good but others a bit ordinary. Service was friendly and welcoming throughout. I would go again for a casual meal.

Booked a table under a very misleading offer of buy one lunch and your partner / guest meal is for free. On arriving the waiter started to explain how a lot of diners had misunderstood the offer - it did not include the set lunch meal. The fact that so many diners were confused points to the fault resting with Foxlow. Our kids were hungry otherwise we would have walked out. Nice one Foxlow, not!

I have been a regular at Foxlow but this left a bitter taste in my mouth. Don't make offers if you are not going to honour them. If there are restrictions, make it crystal clear. The whole point of bringing people in with offers is to make them regular customers. This experience had the opposite effect

Wanted a Xmas lunch. It had quite good reviews. But The restaurant has no atmosphere, and smelt like sewage towards the end. Food really poor, ordered Rib eye steak it tasted like an astray, it was cold , i couldn't get my knife through it! Very expensive 2 course meal, for 3 kids and 3 adults.

Lunch with my son last Friday was a relaxed experience. I chose from the lunch menu (excellent value at £14 for 2 courses). My son thought his ribs starter was really great and he thoroughly enjoyed his burger with extra kimchi and bacon. The smoked mackerel salad starter was very good. I ended with the spiced pineapple with sorbet which was a refreshing finish. Service was attentive.

Quality of food, sirloin steaks and deserts, was very good. Like the refit, previously Sam's brasserie, although on this occasion the people sitting next to us were very loud. That should not detract from what was excellent service and food alike. Not inexpensive, however an enjoyable meal and would dine out there again...
