Really delicious food. Well made and well seasoned! Lots of options. The vegan sweet potato dumpling were amazing!! I must go back again for them.
Really great, very buzzy place to go for a Friday afternoon steak and get excited for the weekend ahead.
On previous occasions this restaurant has been great but on the occasion the food was quite disappointing, the steak was extremely tough and chewy!
Amazing venue, great beer and wonderful ambience.
Cook the burgers medium rare, taste was fantastic but slightly over done ;).
When we made the booking, we noted it was for 5 people in total and requested that we be provided with a high chair. When we arrived at Foxlow, we were sat at a table laid for 6 people, without a high chair. Its not a huge point, as the helpful staff immediately fetched a highchair when we explained, but it suggests there isn't necessarily a lot of attention being paid to the details of booking. As we were sat at a table laid for 6, we had to request to order, as the waiters assumed we were waiting for a 6th person, which was not the case. Once that was out of the way, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was very tasty, and the ambience was good.
Absolutely delicious! We were a group of 8 and a little bit late for our res and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. I had the rib eye which was cooked to perfection (m/r), a few people had the whole fish which was equally divine and we had a mixture of starters, I seem to recall the ribs being very succulent. Our server was fabulous and it was the perfect location for a friends get together.
Took family members to Foxlow for a birthday meal. As ever, the quality was high, service attentive and atmosphere good.
Great restaurant off the beaten track. Great cocktails, mixed well. Short menu, but steaks to die for, cooked just as you like... Staff very friendly and knowledgeable, and made welcome recommendations. We visited on Saturday 5:30 and were the only customers until we left, so I hope they get busy later on... Highly recommended.
Lovely staff! And lovely calm atmosphere. Great for all age groups and in a prime location to go out afterwards.
Even though I haven’t made a particular request, I’d prefer a better table to be reserved which is not just by the kitchen for a party of 5. Other than that, it was a really nice dinner and I’d gladly visit again.
The staff that were working on Monday 16th July 2018 were amazing! They deserve a bonus!
Needed somewhere for Sunday lunch following a visit to an exhibition at the Barbican. Foxlow worked perfectly. We had the choice of Brunch or Lunch and chose the Sunday roast lunch option. The beef was excellent, as were all the vegetables and the Yorkshire pudding. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant. I'd definitely go again.
While on vacation we visited Foxlow as it was close in proximity to our B&B and also we had grown tired of pub fare. I made a reservation for that same night, more precautionary than anything- since we’d never been we didn’t know if it would be crowded or not. Anyway, we arrived 15mins early and were able to be seated right away... there were plenty of tables available.
The service was prompt- they had a nice selection of starters and mains. We thought the value was good, maybe a little pricey on the drinks (alcoholic). We had the chicken burger and ribeye steak followed by the sticky toffee pudding. We enjoyed everything! I would definitely recommend the Foxlow to anyone! It’s likely we will be back again before the trip is over!
Excellent experience, amazing food and people :)
There was nothing spectacular about it. Perhaps it was what I ordered. The chicken was tasteless but the gravy was very good
Great steaks, great wine and great ribs to start! Thank you!
Very nice experience!
Cauliflower a little bit overdone but otherwise excellent vegetarian meals. Highly recommend
I booked for a friend’s get together brunch. They didn’t want to make a fuss and so spoil the occasion but it wasn’t great. Burnt toast, burnt waffle, hard poached eggs - shouldn’t get that wrong. Disappointed. Shame as looks great and menu was good.
It's a nice restaurant in an easy to get to location. I thought that Foxlow would be slightly more upclass than we got, it felt like we'd just gone into a posh pub rather than a nice restaurant. The food was average, nothing amazing to recommend, but certainly wasn't bad. Fine for a bit to eat or a company lunch, not that romantic for two.
As a party of vegans, meat eaters, a diabetic and various allergies, it’s not often we can find somewhere we are all catered for - but Foxlow Clerkenwell did this and more - as soon as we entered the inverted parlour off St John’s St and into the plush, 1960s interior, we were converted. My meal of potato dumplings, grilled cauliflower in rich sauces, fries and mushrooms- was simply the best sit down vegan meal I’ve had in London, and with a drinks menu that boasts the widest range of vegan wines I have ever seen, we toasted the family birthday in style. Everyone ate something they enjoyed and we were surprised by the late hour when we eventually left. A great find, a sure recommendation and a future booking. A gem in London.
Mac and Cheese that tasted like it could have been from a box, questionable burgers, chintzy mix drinks that came closer in size to resembling shots, and the worst Dark & Stormy I've ever had.
But hey, if you enjoy generic rock from the mid-90s played at a volume that makes it hard to hear what the people across the table are saying to you, then this might just be the restaurant you've been looking for.
And if you don't find the place very charming, fear not! The servers will rush you through your meal even when there are still plenty of tables open. So, at least you can count on not being at this place long enough to truly get a bad impression.
Had a wonderful time for my friend's birthday! Quincy provided excellent service, and really made our stay more personal. Many thanks for your hospitality!
great food and wonderful service. For me overcooked salmon. Rest was good (other persons)
We had a great experience here. Nice slow lunch on a busy Tuesday. Great service, good food, decent value. Can’t fault it!
The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive.
The pork, what can I say, was delicious!! Service prompt and friendly and food good.
Great food, great service, maybe slightly overpriced but overall very delicious!
Nduja potatoes and the roast beef are AMAZING! Great Foxlow mimosa too.
Great atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, lovely e cocktails and very decent food.
Really great experience overall, cocktails were of a high quality, food was delicious and service very attentive.
We went for our eighth anniversary last week. The food was absolutely superb, especially impressive because one of us is vegan and one a grilled meat fan. Both our meals were outstanding from start to finish but I especially want to highlight the service, which was friendly and helpful from start to finish, including helping me recover with dignity when I made an error while ordering. A really wonderful night.
Had a great evening there food fantastic everyone loved it. Fabulous cocktails
Good chicken! Good service! Hacker beer was particularly good ...
We had a lovely meal at Foxlow Clerkenwell on our last night in London. With a vegetarian in our group, it's been a little challenging to find restaurants that have more than one vegetarian option. Foxlow Clerkenwell came through with numerous options (including starters, mains, and sides). All of the food was delicious and presented well. Tuesday is bring-your-own-wine night with no corkage fee, which is a bonus. Best part of the experience was the super-friendly and efficient staff. The restaurant is located close to the Museum of London and the Barbican Centre.
Beautifully crafted interior with a sense of style that slightly upstages the food. Cocktails very pleasant but rather weird that the Happy Hour selection includes two gin options but nothing with vodka in it. Slow but pleasant service; when we asked, the guy said: "yes our food is sitting on the pass right now" which made me wonder how long it had been sitting there! But it was tasty enough.
Fabulous night at Foxlow Clerkenwell, the food and the service was impeccable.
The vegan options we great and the sides delicious!
At the end of the night we tried the Strawberry Daiquiri - it was one of the best cocktails we have ever tried.
Great cocktails, excellent steak and fantastic service.
I went here for lunch with a couple of colleagues and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the service excellent, despite the server being incredibly busy managing the lunch time rush. We booked but there are plenty of tables and, on a weekday lunch time, I think we’d have been alright just turning up. We’ll definitely come again for lunch or dinner!
Problems included serving cold food - and then trying to charge for the replacement as well as the original. Also got the order wrong and served a starter portion for a main course. Generally portions were small, and serving just one small side order with each main struck us as mean - spirited. The anchovy starter was ridiculous. Nevertheless, flavours were good and the house red glugged down nicely. Not a bad meal, but I wouldn't recommend.
Chicken was a bit dry but other than that everything was delicious and service was great
