Great team, the right level of attention, fab foob
The drinks list is decent (Shaky Pete's Ginger Brew is always a great start!) the food is excellent, I would recommend getting a bone in steak, the flavour is great.
Fantastic food and service as always and really nice atmosphere
Had a great lunch. The food was really good, the cocktails were fab, but what really made it was the friendly, fun and attentive service by Lorenzo!! Many thanks.
Amazing, superb and fantastic! Don't go..... because we go a lot and I don't want all the tables busy!
Great place with fantastic staff. We had brunch and I had the smoked salmon with leek and potato cakes. It was very tasty but I felt the portion size was a little small, I was still hungry afterward.
Food was great, waiter was lovely (Jubair) but the manager (Thomas) was extremely rude and obnoxious. I’d recommend the food but maybe try the other branches.
Not the first time I've been here and it's still very good, but the menu this time was VERY limited and disappointing. May have been due to Easter.
The fish and steak choices were well-cooked and served; though they have a variety of vegan options, the portion size y friend ate was on the small side.
Happy hour has changed and not as advertised - not a problem, they were able to honour but there was confusion amongst staff, and initially we were told conflicting information.
Service was present when needed, but we were served by multiple waiters/waitress who didn’t seem to communicate to each other.
I was happy with my meal; not all diners were. That said, value was generally good, and it was a relaxed experience and vibe in the restaurant.
I had one of the most delicious meals I have eaten in London. The steak was perfect, rare and just as I like it. The salad was mouth-wateringly tangingly delicious. The house red goes well with the steak. The service was friendly and impeccable.
The piece de resistance, however, was the Elvis Sundae! I could have stayed all day just for this. I would recommend it at any time of day from breakfast to late night feast. Banana ice cream with crispy mouth melting pieces of biscuit (?) that are flaoured with bacon and maple syrup, over some slices of banana soaked in lemon (two of your five a day) with peanuts and caramel sauce... total heaven! I wanted to rush round the restaurant telling everyone to try it! The King would be proud...
Always good, service ,staff excellent, good value,
A delicious meal with great service. Perfect for Sunday lunch. We will return!
Great vibe in the restaurant and the staff were super friendly!
Good bar service, nice atmosphere. Not as good at Hawksmoor from same group. Was a decent enough meal.
its my local and always enjoyable great staff good atmosphere and welcoming
Fantastic food that is sourced from great meat produce/farms. Loved the chicken burger
Great food, great service.
Sunday brunch. Highly recommend the chicken & waffles. My boyfriend enjoyed the Foxlow breakfast with an extra side of hash brown. Good quality ingredients and friendly service. It was quiet at 11.15 but was around two thirds full by 12.00.
Always consistently great and nice service and friendly staff!
I visited Foxlow Clerkenwell on Friday evening for a catch up with a friend, the service by my waiter was impeccable however I cannot remember his name, he was very attentive to our needs and suggesting cocktails and making sure we were ok.
He was tall with a beard and he told me he was 32 lovely guy and i would definately come again as long as he could be my server.
I really enjoyed Foxlow, as it made me feel a little like I was in New York. As a vegan, I was impressed by Foxlow's options for me - especially as I perceived it to be a very meaty restaurant. Although there may not have been many options, they were excellent - which is what counts!
Our waiters were great, blending attentive service with a casual 'jokey' vibe. We had booked for 8.30pm, so were on a late sitting, but were in no way rushed at all.
I have never heard about this place before but decided to give it a try based on the reviews. The staff is really friendly and the environment is relaxed.
The food was good as well. My flat Iron was perfect!
Excellent service and food made even better by a pleasant gentleman named Quincy. Friendly and funny, really capped off what was a great evening
Great food great atmosphere. Highly recommended! Not much more to add but 50 characters needed.
Had a mid-week get together at 8.30 pm: pretty quiet but decent hum and staff very welcoming and attentive. Decor seemed a bit tired and menus a bit dog-eared which was a disappointment. Food was good, wine list a bit "meh" and the steak prices higher than expected. Sense was that owners were managing costs tightly and hoping to hold prices despite losing the cachet Foxlow used to have.
The flat iron steak was done to perfection and the eggplant was delicious
Absolutely wicked evening..the service was excellent and the food was lovely..would definitely come again with friends or family..👍
Good food ..service was excellent
The worst service I have ever encountered in a restaurant.
When asking wait staff to confirm which table sauce was a ketchup, the waitress replied with ‘you’ve asked me that 3 times’ and walked off’
When asking another waiter (who turned out to be the manager on duty) what ingredients were in a certain cocktail. He said ‘me no speak anglaise’ and turned and walked off.
After asking to speak to the manager, and finding out he was in fact one of the rude waiters, he then defended his staff and said that we were rude.
I work in corporate hospitality and not one member of the party was rude to the staff.
I think the staff and the manager need to go back to customer service school.
Will never return and recommend anyone to do the same.
Great dinner on a Sat.
Perfect pre-Barbican place to eat and drink.
Flat iron steaks and burgers lovely and flame/smoked.
Gruner Veltliner and Carmenere great value.
Went for a Sunday lunch with freinds, convenient if you are driving as no restrictions on a Sunday on St John st. Place itself has a laidback vibe with young friendly staff and an open plan canteen style dining room. Great simple menu for veggies and carnivores alike, we had both roast beef and chicken and they went down very well as did the cauliflower veggie main. Service was friendly - could’ve done with a little more attending for drinks (especially with a 12.5 service charge....)
Well be back!
Average meal; we had Sunday lunch at Foxlow as a goodbye lunch for my sister who is moving to Canada. I've eaten dinner here before which I thoroughly enjoyed and they have great steak, however the Sunday lunch was disappointing. An overall lack of food, and unseasoned veggies including beetroot and carrots that tasted like they had just been boiled. Quite disappointed overall given the price of Foxlow.
Restaurant was a lovely surprise our first visit we enjoyed our time there very much
Relaxed but special dining. Shared a T-bone which was great.🥩
Great food. The staff was extremely friendly, the food was great, and it had a great vibe. I would go back any time.
Very pleasant, great service and friendly atmosphere!
Great food and service, nice location in heart of Clerkenwell - very cool and hip crowd when we went. The fillet streak and panna cotta.
Great twist on the apple crumble dessert.
Great restaurant, food was tasty. And BYO Tuesdays!
Been before and had very good experiences, however this experience was flawed in many areas
So in a nutshell:
Front of House – Dis-organised and uninterested, no indication to take our coats or where to put them.
Service at table – Good
Drinks – Beers were ordered with a glass or the option for a glass only offered later
Food – we ordered 4 flat irons between 3. Due to the blood on the plate, the cut had not been rested and was therefore tough, the 4 flat iron to share was left in a skillet and as a result our medium rare cut was well done. Sides were good.
Basic errors and disappointing as the Hawskmoor/Foxlow brands do pride themselves on cooking the best steaks.
Score wise on yesterday, 4/10
