Service was great! We were celebrating a birthday and they made us feel very special!
This was an excellent meal. The food was cooked perfectly. Great value, 2 courses for £14.95 and a free bottle of decent wine per couple. Staff and service very good. Great night out with friends. Would recommend to visit any evening. This is our second trip within with friends who have all been very impressed.
Met family here having previously enjoyed visits. Sadly, a little below par on this occasion. Dishes unavailable and drinks ordered that did not arrive. Woman in charge appeared careworn and unenthusiastic. The food that was available was good. Might try one of the other "Goose Green" alternatives in the light of this experience next time.
A bit disappointing really, not been along for some 5 months and last time it was excellent. This occasion the service was bordering on poor, skill level ordinary (no pepper in the pot- no smaller cutlery for the starter- Item off the menu replacement not explained- first table was in a dreadful location so moved waiting team understaffed )
The food was nice not memorable or especially creative just above ordinary.
We would return one under par meal doesn't spoil it all but take note please train the staff and raise them above the level of a pub quality of service.
Excellent offer and service. Really nice to see a full restaurant even on a Monday. There was a slight misshap with some of the vegetables which was rectified with no quibble at all from staff.
Six of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal - something for everyone. Staff very attentive and friendly.
Have already told friends how much we enjoyed ourselves.
Think that the fifth category should be Excellent - outstanding doesn't sound right to me.
Went with friends for evening meal and enjoyed everything.
The staff were lovely and attentive and fast service.
Food was excellent.....we all had the steak which was cooked perfectly to everyones requirements. Definitely recommend the French Onion soup....yummy
Thank you for a very nice night
Very good food and service . Most enjoyable lunchtime dining
Excellent meal - very reasonable prices. There is always a good choice available on the menu which suit most tastes.
A very nice evening , good food, we brought our in laws from Australia, they enjoyed the experience.
Excellent Service. Fantastic Food - Definitely visit again soon.
Enjoyed a nice date night on Friday evening at Francs. The service was a bit slower than expected and we had to ask to have our order taken. Lovely food and good wine. The vegetarian option for the main course (stuffed peppers) was a little bland. Overall a good experience. Not as good an ambiance as we've found in the past.
The whole experience with Francs was poor from start to finsh.
It took 5 mins before anyone even came to the bar to acknowledge we had arrived; there were still a couple of couples ahead of us waiting to be seen to.
Once we were seated, it then took a good 10 minutes before our drinks order was taken, and a further 10 minutes before they arrived - despite THREE different people asking if we were OK for drinks. it would seem that none of them wanted to follow up by actually delivering them.
When they did both the pint and wine were warm and had to be replaced (which again took some time...).
The food was ordered - I originally asked for the parfait but was told that was no longer on the menu but that a "terrine" was and it was "exactly the same". I was dubious and questioned this knowing the difference in texture alone, but as he looked like the maitre'd, I assumed he knew what he was talking about better than me. The terrine arrived and as I thought it wasn't the same as a parfait - a further disappointment to add to the growing list.
For the main course, my husband ordered the hake which he said was OK but was overwhelmed by a particularly large mound of uncooked crushed potato. He ate the fish only.
I ordered the duck which on the menu it said it came pink. But on arrival was so over-cooked it was difficult to get my "steak knife" through it. I ate only the rosti that came with it (the bits that weren't burnt anyway).
It was clear that we had not enjoyed our main course, and when asked if we had we did feedback but it didn't seem like this was really taken on board at all.
The bill arrived as we asked for it - the first bit of quick service we had experienced all night (surpringly!!).
I can honestly say, when there has been such great additions to the Altrincham / Hale food scene, Francs stands out for all the wrong reasons.
Even though our group, regrettably , arrived between 30 and 60 minutes late, we were met with courtesy and friendliness and the service we received throughout our meal was attentive but in no way rushed and, we were still offered the Bon Marche menu - great value at £14:95 for a starter and main course. Enough choice on this menu too.
The presentation and combination of flavours in the food is superb .
Dessert and coffee, for those who wanted to add this from the main menu were reasonably priced.
Our group are agreed that this is now a venue for us to get together again, especially as everyone now knows how to get there and, where to park !
Very enjoyable experience but found the lack of facilities for less able customers a diificulty.
