Frederick's is a family-run restaurant set up in 1969 situated in Angel Islington. We are known for our friendly service, a broad food menu and a keenly priced wine list. Naturally we have been working on some new House Rules to keep customers and the team safe - these are viewable on our website.
As well as two large dining areas, Frederick's has two private rooms and a secluded Garden for al fresco dining.
Frederick's also holds a marriage license - there has been a massive backlog post lockdown so do get in touch if we can help

Frederick's is always good, and right now they're on top of their game. Excellent sommelier Erwan adds an extra dimension to the super food.
This restaurant is my favourite Islington haunt. A 50 year old family business as fresh today as all those years ago. Food always good @ excellent Wine list with good value. Beautiful internal space + lovely garden as well as private dinning rooms. Love ❤️ it!
We enjoyed the food and ambiance,
My suggestions though would be to change those parasols with some that cover all tables to avoid stuff from plants and trees to fall on the plates and table,
A classy venue, great atmosphere, very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Highly recommended for date night, anniversaries or celebrations. Return visits have justified the high praise time and time again
I love Fredericks. It's classy, but not stuffy; professional but friendly. It's been an Islington Institution for years, but is not old-fashioned. Long may it last!
Delicious food with excellent service in the glorious ambience of a beautiful Islington garden, Fantastic evening.
Really lovely afternoon. Food excellent, scallops for starters and monkfish main were delicious .wine list really good choice. Love it here with good service and sat outdoors which was lovely in the sun. Thank you
Party of 6 all had the set menu and everything was excellent. Will be back very soon.
Beautiful setting. Great food. Great service. Loved it.
Great food great service
Lovely lunch sitting outside on a warm September day. The service was attentive , the food delicious. I thought it was quite expensive though.
Excellent food, drinks and service. Coming to Fredericks is Always very special, would recommend to anyone.
I hadn’t been to Frederick’s for 20 years and was delighted by this visit. We were offered a table n the garden or indoors and sat in their pretty, tranquil garden. We chose the prix fixe menu, £20 for 3 courses because the choices were excellent and everything we ordered was delicious, well presented and served. We drank water but I noticed that wines by the glass are reasonably priced. It was the first week since they re-opened the restaurant proper, as opposed to the pop up, and they seem to have managed Covid restriction stylishly and thoroughly.
The atmosphere and staff were great. The set lunch menu was a bit underwhelming but was good value. I would visit again for the a la cart menu.
Great food and a great waitress. Good social distancing and a perfect evening.
Seating is everything in Fredericks - Conservatory provides for a great atmosphere but nearer the food service area lacks appeal as it is so bright and a little sterile. Staff are always friendly and food great.
I have been visiting Frederick's for about 25 years. In that time I have never been dissapointed. It is by far my favourite restaurant in London. The food is always excellent as is the service, ambience etc. I am even more fortunate that I now live nearby!
Prompt yet discrete service; lovely atmosphere with good social distancing. The food was excellent - an outstanding restaurant.
Superb food and service, plus a very pleasant venue in these socially-distanced time - felt nice and spacious.
fredricks as always was un faultable
great setting,food and service
have never in a good number of visits had any complaints except not wanting yo leave
We have visited Frederick's on several occasions and it never disappoints. Service, food and surroundings have always been great. Mix of customers - couples, families, colleagues. We had the crab and the beef carpaccio to start, cod and fillet of beef for main course and panna cotta and white chocolate creme brulee for desert, all were delicious and no trouble to accommodate adaptions for my gluten free option. Prices are comparable to other restaurants offering similar menus and I have paid a lot more for food that is not as good elsewhere.
Lovely unhurried evening with good service. Food was excellent
Fantastic dinner in a lovely place. Very good value set menu
Amazing! Staff very very nice! Will be back. Thank you :)
A fantastic meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have been to Frederick's before and were impressed. Even more so this time - super food and service in a socially distanced environment. Amazing value too - twelve marks out of ten !
Absolutely perfect had a great time celebrating exams results with my daughters the service and food impecible
Exceptionally friendly place with high quality food.
We love Frederick's not only for their cocktails, but a great accessible menu.
Great place to eat loved it - will be back in a few weeks for my daughters birthday
The Cheesecake with caramel ice cream was amazing
A very pleasant experience in Covid times. Nice food, excellent service and relaxing atmosphere.
Lovely, stylish venue. Great food. Highly recommended.
Wonderful, tasty, interesting food as usual and attentive bit relaxed staff.
We had a very lovely evening at Frederick's celebrating a 30th. Birthday!!!
Having been to Fredericks on several occasions over the last 25 years, I know the food and service will be excellent. On this occasion it was "Fred's Pop Up" rather than traditional Fredericks because of Covid 19. The restaurant would return to its former self a couple of days after my visit. Having said that, I didn't really feel much had changed except for the abbreviated menu and QR codes to read it and the wine list (although physical menus were available). I had the steak and chips - just £18. The steak was Chateaubriand and the whole dish was excellent. A fine Bakewell tart finished of the meal. The wine list was good with several wines by the glass at very reasonable prices. Staff were attentive and efficient as always.
I'll certainly be back!
As always Fredrick's (albeit in its new guise as "Fred's pop up") provided us with a great meal and a wonderful evening.
Lovely to be back at this local restaurant in such uncertain times. The attentive staff and spacious layout made you at ease and comfortable to enjoy our delicious lunch.
Amazing location. Beautiful conservatory. Attentive staff.
However, the food was a bit standard - would not have taken much to have made it good. Butter for toast. Nicer bread. Just a little bit more care for the food itself. These are the things which would have made it an excellent experience.
Shorter menu delightfully presented
Great service (went out of their way to three shops to get us watermelon for a cocktail). Tasty quality food, wine and drinks. Great setting and location. Good value for money
