Very very nice french food! Did not quite like the interior, seating and tables. Also very poor selection and quality of French red wines by glass which is very unusual to see in the French restaurant. Had to negotiate getting a decent wine and was unpleasantly charged for a very poor wine which I did not drink. Generally I thought the place is a bit pricey with regards to wines while on food it was a very good value.
The food and service was exceptional and overall we had such an enjoyable evening. We recommend the bacon scone!
Wonderful food and service. Would definitely go again.
Whilst I enjoyed the ambience of Frenchie and received good service, the food was not great - with the exception of the bacon scones which I would recommend most highly!
It felt like Frenchie were working with a limited repertoire of ingredients, which cropped up in slightly varied combinations in each course. The dressing and embellishments on my starter (foie gras) tasted very similar to those used on my pudding and it felt in some ways like I was eating the same course again. Both were served with a very tart mousse/gel (?) which wasn't terribly pleasant.
I have had much better food elsewhere and paid a heck of a lot less for it.
We sat at the bar counter and had a delicious dinner. The food, service, wine and cocktails are fantastic. We started with champagne and a Negroni with a few bar snacks. The maple bacon scone and brandade. Followed by the Linguini vongole and the gazpacho. Entrees were Duck and fish, followed by their signature dessert. All delicious. A word about the service. Everyone was incredibly nice and their common goal was for you to have an enjoyable and memorable dining experience. Word of advice — ignore any negative reviews on TripAdvisor or other sites as those are people who are either too cynical or narcissistic to understand or enjoy great restaurants. I highly recommend Frenchie’s. And also Frenchie and Frenchie Wine Bar in Paris.
Went for an early dinner and the food was OUTSTANDING! Cocktail was good too and the presentation of the dishes was nice as well. Tables are a bit snug and close together but the delicious food makes up for that.
Food was okay,
I'd hoped for more of variety on the menu.
But the Service was Outstanding.
made the difference in enjoying my time there
The best food I had in ages: complex flavours, good portions. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Would definetely recommend.
I had been expected to visit Frenchie as is just opened . Sadly it was quite a disappointment.
First, service there were two key issues, 1. one of the waitress was holding our upcoming dishes up close to her face, while chatting with another staff for 5 mins. My friend and I were staring at her doing so but not sure if she ever spitted accidentally on our dishes...2. Staff were a bit rush on everything yet let you wait a bit. even though overall staff were nice.
Interior is very chic and modern, decorated with fancy lights. But music was to loud and funky that everytable was yelling.
Food, choices are extremely limited. Starters were too sour, main course all over salted. The only highlight was bacon scone. Other than that theres nothing else worth to try.
After finished our dinner we went somewhere else for more foods and desserts.
Went there as a night out with friends. We didn't get very quick service but were in no special hurry. Then ordered food and wine, the latter being a rather thin and very acidic Sauvignon Blanc....not very good value as it turned out for £58 but not corked and therefore not something one could really complain about since we chose it.
Then some time later the waitress served us with a different wine. My friend queried this, really quite politely, and was told we were wrong and there was no doubt it was the same wine. This was clearly not true as the wine concerned was a totally different colour and tasted of nothing....in some ways an improvement.
The main complain I would have is that the waitress would not listen and told us we were simply wrong. We have some experience drinking wine, and this was one of the worst such experiences, but the service and customer service was truly awful.
The food was good but didn't make up for the other issues.
A charming restaurant with a great atmosphere. Acoustics are good and tables well spaces. Very handsome space too. Cocktails were excellent and the food really shines. Had delicious starter of linguine with clams. And the pork main with kohlrabi was stunning. Thanks, Frenchie!
2nd visit and both visits were amazing. Great service and food is absolutely delicious.
Looking forward to going back.
Perfect Pre-Theatre choice; great food, extremely efficient service and excellent value for money.
Fantastic authentic food, extensive wine list, invisible service. Highly recommend and will return. The maple bacon scones are well worth a try
Amazing! One of the best restaurants ive ever been to.
Beautiful food in a chic restaurant - perfect for a Sunday date
The food is amazing!!!
Had eaten at their busy casual cafe on Rue de Nil in Paris and had an excellent sandwich there on a brioche bun. Loved the design of the restaurant in Covent Garden, light and modern but the food was a bit fussy. The starter lamb pappardelle and the bacon muffin were delicious but the mains had several different sauces of which some of which were odd that made the flavours a bit confusing .
Great for a Group of friends on holiday; had really special food and drinks, didn’t rush us out
Great service the host's were attentive, The wine was good they had a great list. The food was amazing, they have seasonal menu and vegan options.
Fun atmosphere! Order everything on the menu! Incredibly fresh flavors interesting combinations without being too
Pretentious. The bread is amazing, don’t pass it up.
Absolutely beautiful. By far the best meal we had in London...surpassing some very hyped places by quite a bit. We wanted to return immediately.
Don't hesitate, the Frenchie team is killing it. Service was perfect, the food was both beautiful and delicious- perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, thoughtful flavor combinations in each dish- and the quality of the product was exceptional.
Had a lovely pre theatre lunch. Will be going back and would recommend to friends and family.
Even if it’s a good restaurant, the service and food were below my expectations. Not an unforgettable experience. Had to wait for the table even if we booked in advance, table not well managed (3-4 different waiters), had to wait 30 min between each courses, order a glass of wine that never arrived but was well on the bill (20£...), dishes a bit too hot (fish tartare) or too cold (main dish), ordered one oyster (appetiser- 5£) but two arrived at the table. Air conditioning a bit cold. Maybe a bad day.... Anyway, try for yourself! Maybe when it’s not packed and noisy.
A French client.
Food was excellent as was the service. A little on the pricey side but overall was worth it especially for special ocassions or in my case, treating friends visiting from abroad.
service was horrid. the feeling was the guests were a bother. For the price; I would not recommend solely based off the unfriendly and off-putting service.
Exceptional food of great imagination and taste. Fantastic service, great value, a super place to eat
Superb innovative cuisine and first class service.
Great service from our French waiter, didn’t get his name...
Food was as good as ever , although I have grown to appreciate a slightly ‘less is more’ style...
Nevertheless the explosion of flavours is done very well & my guests thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
Love Love Love the Banofee, one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time !
Much Thanks, bacon scone still out if this world yummy 👍🏻
Great food, perfect service and location
We had the pleasure of having lunch in This great restaurant .
A must if you are in Covent garden
Excellent cuisine. Service was a tad overwhelmed for such a haute cuisine establishment.
They very kindly "customised" the tasting menu for us, the very friendly waiter providing good information about the ingredients and also the suggestions for the wine were spot on. It was all excellent, but for me the creme brulee was the pinnacle of dessert. Will deffo go again.
Frenchie Covent Garden has lovely food with wonderful tastes and attentive service.
Really amazing food. Gets the basics right and is still original and innovative. It's also good value for money given the quality, especially if you go for lunch menu.
Very good food , very well cook. Great atmosphere . I will come back
The location is full of energy, the space is appealing and unique, and the food was super tasty. The best asparagus I’ve ever had - I immediately ordered another after the first bite. The chicken was also excellent. The drinks were rather weak and ice encumbered, so stuck to the good wine choices.
Excellent pre theatre venue at Covent Garden. Good food and excellent service.
Great attentive service and very knowledgeable staff!
Quite noisy but causal. Good food, wine and cocktail was so so. Dessert has a nice twist but I think starter is bit too salty for me
