Frenchie Covent Garden
Greg considers London his second home after having spent several long periods in the capital cooking at the Savoy, Mandarin Oriental and Fifteen, where the kitchen nickname "Frenchie" stuck. The menu at Frenchie Covent Garden will echoes its Parisian counterpart with simple yet precise dishes heavily influenced by Greg's travels - London, New York, Spain and Hong Kong. It will also host an ever-changing, carefully selected wine and seasonal cocktail list.
Saturday & Sunday: 12:00 - 14:30, 17:30 - 22:30
Please be aware: reservations are allocated onto our Dining Bar, Restaurant and Lower-Ground Open Kitchen seating areas.
The bacon scones is a must try. I had the hake and it was really lovely .
Myself and my friend came to Frenchie’s 21st Birthday meal whilst visiting London. Everyone was extremely welcoming and said “Happy Birthday” to her. The food, although looks small, is very delicious and filling. We had the Bacon Scones and would highly recommend them to anyone; they were perfect mix of sweet and savoury.
We had three courses each, and a cocktail (The Frenchman in Manhattan- this was to die for) and the bill came to £95 which extremely good for London.
The waitresses and waiters were so lovely and one (who I forgot to get her name unfortunately) even took time to write us a list of all the best bars and clubs in central London.
I would definitely come back here again, without a second thought.
Thank you to everyone and thank you for surprising my friend with a little pudding with a candle for her birthday!
Excellent, quality french fare with wonderful presentation.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely visit again.
Food was delicious. But we felt a bit rushed. The first thing I was asked was if we were ok to give the table back in 1hr 45mins; even though their policy allows 2 hours for parties of 2 people. Then our starters arrived immediately after our apperitifs. And our main courses arrived immediately after they had cleared up our starters. Granted, when I asked for some time, they took the main courses away to give us a breather. But it all felt as if we were on a conveyor belt.
A shame because the food really was very tasty. I would go back but not on a Friday night.
Great pre-theatre meal. We sat at the bar which meant we could oversee everything! Waiter was attentive but not overbearing. The food was excellent and the wine was delicious. We will definitely come back again.
Highly creative and innovative combinations of ingredients and flavors. Beautifully plated.
Amazing food and great service, I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for ages and I decided to go for my birthday. I was not disappointed! It is unfortunately a bit pricey so I won't be able to go back very often but it was worth every penny.
My second visit. Wonderful food and generally a lovely experience. The only thing which wasn’t too good was the noise level. I don’t remember the music being so loud on my first visit. My first impression on this occasion was “oh dear, why so loud?”. All conversations were necessarily happening in raised voices, including our own, which detracted somewhat from an otherwise delightful experience
Excellent food and service our second visit and will def be back again
Imaginative cocktails and superb food all quite beautifully presented in a delightful little restaurant convenient to West End shows and to Convent Garden. One of my most memorable London meals ever. Highly recommended.
Services very friendly and well-informed staff but a little slow with the food to start with.
Over priced and poor wine selection very over priced.
My third visit this year and the best. Fantastic food, innovative, quality seasonal ingredients, very well executed and plated. Wonderful Carrots as an Appetiser and Brill for main. Pea salad and Pomme Purée We’re perfect. Wine selection interesting. Tried 4 from the most expensive (Coravin system) to the cheapest. All good. Service (at the counter) was friendly, informed and first class.
My husband & I came to London Frenchie after eating at the Paris restaurant. It did not disappoint. We shared several dishes, all of which were unusual & delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for a fun date night.
Very good dinner, the tasting menu was excellent good service, nice friendly atmosphere, well worth a return visit.
We had dinner at Frenchies before going to the ballet. The service was excellent, the food superb and the surroundings very pleasant. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Wonderful food and service, but the lack of tablecloths and soft furnishings mean that noise bounces around. Really difficult to have a quiet conversation.
Really enjoyed our meal here. The bacon scones and lamb parpadelle were delicious. Best meal we've had in ages
WeLoveFrenchie but our last visit was disappointing compared to our previous experiences: forgetful service, food was a bit of a let down. The seating didn't help either. We will come back as we hope it was only an off day.
Menu choice was unexceptional and portion sizes were very small.
Sat downstairs and had great enjoyment in watching the meals being prepared, plated and sent out. The food itself was great an the wine list was extensive but good value.
This is possibly my favourite restaurant in Covent Garden. The menu is fantastic, each dish seems to be really well balanced. On my last visit I tried the tasting menu, which was exceptional and had really well paired wines. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very good food and wonderful service, although the tables where they placed us were so close to each other as to be a bit uncomfortable .. unless you regularly enjoy exchanging jokes with the next table over and commenting on each other's food. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but be aware of it.
Great food, friendly service and the best bacon scones. Everything was great.
I'm a Frenchie fan and have visited many times, the staff are fantastic and the food always delicious. Since my last visit it feels like the prices have increased and given the relatively modest portion sizes i'm unlikely to return as often. It's a lot to pay for a meal to leave hungry, although there is a five guys round the corner if you need to fill up on a burger before heading home.
Nice place and tasty meal. It's a french creative cuisine. Worth the drive!
Food was great, right sized portions and healthy. Prices were good too. Sommelier recommended well and everyone enjoyed it. Service was a bit slow and front desk staff couldn’t have us physician the restaurant as we were 15mins early- which is a bit poor.
Fabulous modern French food and service
Having been to frenchie on numerous occasions the quality of the food has remained consistent - fabulous flavours texture and supported by superb staff whether waiters, on the bar or the sommeliers (but bar the usual girl at reception whose unwelcoming and simply functional but don’t let that put you off) . Frenchie is a super place to taste high quality ingredients presented with flair and care ( that wasn’t meant to rhyme) and a great place for a date in the bar or with friends and the £60 tasting menu is brilliant including their signature starter and dessert ........ just go
Pleasant and attentive service with a smart menu. Their house beer was a nice surprise and the food was delightful. Will definitely return and look forward to their winter menu.
Fantastic experience, amazing food and amazing service.
My Boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday evening around 7 and it was such a lovely atmosphere. Not too busy but not empty. It was perfect for a date night! The food was incredible. I loved the interior as it was very cosy and stylish. We have definitely found a beautiful restaurant with lovely staff and we can’t wait to go again! I would highly recommend!
Exceptional food and service. Just a perfect lunch. Thank you
Great ambience and excellent service! Fabulous interiors and the food is really lovely. A little pricey so not great value for money
Treat yourself lovely place staff and food
A friend and I had the tasting menu £60 5 course, we had a bottle of red as well at extra cost and found it was perfect. We got to try a bit of everything on the menu.
We just thought the girl at the front door wasn't very welcoming. She couldn't hear us and when we ask to repeat what she said..her response was loud and rude like. Very nice venue but we felt it was let down by the girl at the front door.
Went to Frenchie through recommendation, food was fine, the starter Foire Gras with berries was colourful, well presented perhaps the berries were too over powering the foie gras. Still enjoyed it. Mains - Stone bass, nicely done. Where the restaurant fails is the service, waitress took the order of the table in a zig zag order, which invariably meant our orders were mixed up each time on delivery ..nibbles, starter, mains. For a French restaurant, the finesse isn't there yet!
La Trompette in Chiswick beats it to 1st place all the time for us!!! Guests get a feeling of warmth, special, food exquisite always!!!
We need to dine early than go see the a play. The restaurant offer a three course menu is really fantastic. the chef is very creative with the ingredients. We were so surprise the Carrot Carpaccio taste so refreshing on a hot day.
Lovely Sunday lunch, delicious food beautifully presented. Ambiance and decor are little blah but it was a memorable meal overall. We would go back and will go back!
