Frenchie Covent Garden
Greg considers London his second home after having spent several long periods in the capital cooking at the Savoy, Mandarin Oriental and Fifteen, where the kitchen nickname "Frenchie" stuck. The menu at Frenchie Covent Garden will echoes its Parisian counterpart with simple yet precise dishes heavily influenced by Greg's travels - London, New York, Spain and Hong Kong. It will also host an ever-changing, carefully selected wine and seasonal cocktail list.
Lovely place will def go back next time in london
Nice cozy restaurant with good food, good for pre-theatre meal, but would be a bit too simple for a romantic dinner.
It was amazing!!! My fiancé and I love this restaurant very much. Amazing food and services. Would go back again which I did by myself on Sunday night😘
our Lunch on Sunday went very very well!
Manfredi (Italian waiter) and July (head sommelier) took care of us and we felt like we were at home and bit more! Oustanding food and service! I recommend anyone wishing have a good meal around a sometimes much touristic Covent Garden!
Absolutely delicious food! The restaurant has a lovely, bright and relaxed atmosphere and the staff are charming. It’s an absolute delight - the tables downstairs are placed in front of the kitchen, which makes for a more vibrant dining experience but it’s really much nicer to sit upstairs in the main restaurant.
Well it’s certainly French!! Good warm welcome nice short menu but good range of choice. Nice wine list mainly unknown wines! Food was very good. Most enjoyable will be back.
Went to Frenchie with a friend after work and had a lovely dinner. Sat in the downstairs area beside the kitchen which provided an interesting perspective on the meal. The food was really good as was the service however I felt the menu was quite small.
Great experience as always - great place to go if travelling alone as staff is engaging and chatty
Really great and a very enjoyable bar counter
We love Frenchie. We come here whenever we are in London. It is always a lovely experience. I highly recommend sitting downstairs where the Kitchen is. It's nice to be part of the action. Upstairs gets way too busy, downstairs is more intimate and cozy. The food is delicious, impeccably prepared with fresh ingredients to boot. The menu always changes and we love their interesting, fresh takes on dishes. It's never boring. Also, Lunch is a great time to go as they offer good value prix fixe options.
Food not as good as the first time I went a few years ago. Nice ambience though. They don’t kick you out after 2 hours like most places do these days which was very nice.
Food was absolutely exquisite. Service was very prompt and friendly. The bacon scones were a real highlight, as were the liver parfait and the carpaccio.
Loved the food - innovative, full of flavour and good sized portions. Not cheap, but worth it for a special occasion. Will go back.
I popped in for a quick meal at the bar - two small starter plates which were small but perfectly formed and delicious. A glass of wine to accompany them and I was in and out in 45 minutes!
GREAT find! Cozy neighborhood feel with incredibly beautiful food. Very accommodating for our gluten free needs and picky teenager. The gnocci and the fish dishes were our favorites. Highly recommend this gem!
Great family lunch
You contributed to my Mother’s Day celebrations!!
Lovely place. Me and my sister really enjoyed the food. And it was a great value for pre-theatre food.
Very much enjoyed the three courses menu before going to the theatre.
Food very tasty.
Lovely modern decor.
The two desserts on the set menu were very clever and yummy!!
Couldn’t fault it. Beautiful tasty food, great service and extensive wine list. Will be back.
I am not used to write a complaint , but to be honest you deserved. We came for a lunch the 14th of March and we were so excited to dine to your restaurant. Regrettably the whole experience has been ruined from your staff from the moment we walk in. The service was very appalling and the staff was very unprofessional and unhelpful. We asked to sat to a different table and it was denied as the server said” this is the table allocated for you”...I have asked to move table and indicate a table, and guess what??? The request was denied and later on I saw staff seating on the table request. What a bad customer care!! I ordered a bottle of wine and then left to the toilet. Once back to the table I found the bottle of wine open, maybe the waiter thought that he did not have to wait for me as for him it was just an house wine...little bit to offensive.
We were eating without know what is in the plate and nobody asked how was our experience. The food was good enough however could taste better.
The experience overall was really bad and the staff make us feel not important for them.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!
Really special food - very happy.
Ate here pre-theatre off the set menu. The lady on the door seemed to be having a bad evening, which was a pity, but once inside everything else was perfect. Lovely ambience, excellent food and very good waiter. It was my first visit here and will definitely return. Have already recommended it to friends.
Stunning night. Fantastic service, they went through all the modifications they could make to accommodate us being vegetarian which was really lovely. We had the veg tasting menu which was superb. Sommelier was really helpful. Wonderful meal!
What a delightful find! Not somewhere for a cheap lunch (especially if you're going to add a bottle of wine...) but the food was delicious, service was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Perfect for a catch-up with a friend.
Always a pleasant experience at Frenchie. Pre-theatre menu is limited but it works well for those heading off 7 - 7.15. Starters better than mains on our most recent visit. Service is good if hovering a little in the less busy early sittings. Great cocktail and wine menu.
Wonderful, wonderful experience!
It is very good but the menu could be just slightly longer.
Loved it. Every dish was delicious. We tried five different things and one thing was better than the next. The server told us some of her favorites and we ordered the maple bacon scone at her recommendation and one of the main dishes at her suggestion. Both were outstanding. Please open in NYC - more than just being the guest chef at Intersect (also delicious)
Great atmosphere and excellent food
Food was truly outstanding, it is quite dear though (i.e. not cheap). Service was a tiny bit annoying - they kept coming to fill up our water when we were trying to chat, so there were too many interruptions. However, on the whole I would prefer service that is too attentive than not attentive enough, so still pretty good overall.
Ambience and decor is pretty nice, good bathrooms with a lovely long sink basin. I was blown away by the food - just delicious.
Wonderful food, attentive service. Overall wonderful experience!
Fantastic food, very innovative and incredible flavours and textures. Fine dining and some, with good portion sizes too. Highly recommended.
Exceptional food and service. I have dined out extensively across London the past 4 years and this is by far the best restaurant I have eaten in.
Brilliant service and delicious food. The banoffee pudding was the highlight. Great pre-theatre option in Covent Garden.
We went for the lunch menu and loved both starter and main course. Flavours very nicely balanced, light and also a nice size portion. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to having dinner next time!
Sunday lunch £30 for 3 courses + 12.5% service
Make sure you try the bacon scones!!
Food and service was fab
The bacon scones is a must try. I had the hake and it was really lovely .
Myself and my friend came to Frenchie’s 21st Birthday meal whilst visiting London. Everyone was extremely welcoming and said “Happy Birthday” to her. The food, although looks small, is very delicious and filling. We had the Bacon Scones and would highly recommend them to anyone; they were perfect mix of sweet and savoury.
We had three courses each, and a cocktail (The Frenchman in Manhattan- this was to die for) and the bill came to £95 which extremely good for London.
The waitresses and waiters were so lovely and one (who I forgot to get her name unfortunately) even took time to write us a list of all the best bars and clubs in central London.
I would definitely come back here again, without a second thought.
Thank you to everyone and thank you for surprising my friend with a little pudding with a candle for her birthday!
Excellent, quality french fare with wonderful presentation.
