Wonderful position. Local ingredients. Interesting menu. Let down by the size of my starter (goat's cheese and beetroot) which was minuscule compared to my friends' pots of mussels and accompanying bread. I compensated by sharing their mussels! More

I had eaten here about a year ago and was mightily impressed. My dining companion this time really knows his food and won't hesitate to criticise (usually validly) so it was with some trepidation that I took him here. I needn't have worried. His lobster pasta and lamb he expressed to be perfect but, to make sure, he tucked into a corner of my beef fillet and endorsed my view that it was remarkably flavoursome, perfectly cooked and so tender that it would cut with a spoon (we tried that too). I can't vouch for the puddings though my companion had chocolate fondant which looked and smelt just right. He wouldn't let me try any of that. I did however beg the restaurant for the vegetarian starter as a pud and, as it was founded on goat cheese and curd, it was a fantastic way of ending dinner with the last of a really nice Rioja. Norwich is a long way away for most of us but it's a terrific city for a visit and Bishop's Dining Room is a lovely, discreet and welcoming place to eat when there. More

Excellent Sunday lunch service and food outstanding. Very helpful to let us order food and have it come quickly for our 2yr old daughter who was hungry when we arrived. Our food arrived quickly also once we had ordered. We will definitely be back. Lovely cosy authentic pub with high end food. More
