About Galleria - Cambridge
The Galleria restaurant in Cambridge has the most brilliant location at the foot of Magdalene Bridge beside the River Cam, just in one of the deepest parts where the punters come unstuck. With a pair of terraces beside the river, diners have a ringside seat not only for the punting circus, but also for the pleasure of one of England’s loveliest views. This three-level continental restaurant is light and airy, romantic and pleasant, with wrought-iron balconies, ferns, French prints, bistro-style seating. Signature dish is poached fillets of monkfish in lemongrass with sweet red chilli cream sauce and tiger prawns with leeks and mushrooms served with rice. The very reasonable wines tend to favour Old World vineyards.

Galleria - Cambridge Ratings and Reviews
I would really like to praise this venue. When I booked it, there was a section for “special requests” and so I asked if I could have a window table, adding that I hoped there would be some Malbec, as I knew this to be a favourite of my fellow diners. When I arrived (slightly late) the table was indeed by the window and I was amazed to find a bottle of good (but very reasonably priced) Malbec already open on the table. How amazing is that? The food was very good not only in terms of quality but also represented excellent value for money. The service was both attentive but unobtrusive, which is not an easy combination to achieve. I intend to return.
The food was divine. I particularly enjoyed the smoked duck starter. Staff were friendly and attentive and the happy birthday candle on my dessert was a nice touch. I requested a cosy table with a view when I booked and I got exactly what I asked for. One of the nicest dining experiences I've had for some time and I absolutely could not fault the value. I was convinced something was missing from the bill but in fact it was just incredibly reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back :)
Excellent food and service - we loved sitting out on the balcony, watching the punting on the river. The staff were very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive, and the food was beautifully prepared and presented. My friend went back the next day for lunch!
Always return here - both service and food is great, location is perfect for people watching on the street/bridge outside or for smaller groups, on the side balcony tables out punting on the river so there is always a buzz.
Menu is great - a nice selection and everything is presented really well and tastes great. Very reasonably priced in my view for the quality.
Galleria Cambridge was a delight. We had a table on the balcony overlooking the Cam that provided much entertainment watching the punts. The selection of dishes was good and what we chose to eat was delicious and presentation was excellent. Attentive staff but not too intrusive.
Pretty reasonable prices as well. I plan to visit again quite soon. Thoroughly recommend
My boyfriend and I were in Cambridge for a long weekend and came here for lunch. We got a table on the balcony y which looked out over the river and watched the boats and swans drift by - very beautiful! The food was delicious (I recommend the Monkfish) and the portions very well sized. The waitress was very sweet and the courses were all well spaced and not rushed. Would definitely return for another long lunch!
Had the opportunity to have lunch here last week, with my wife and mother in law. The place is really nice, lots of natural light, good balcony / views and the food was great. Staff also very friendly, with Marta being outstanding. Absolutely loved and recommend it! I live in Cambridge and definitely will see me there often!!
I am not usually one to leave reviews, and have visited Galleria before and not done so although I have been happy with everything. However, we visited on Mother's Day and I have to comment on the fantastic service we received which went above and beyond what I expected. The food was wonderful as usual, and the setting, but it was the support received for my 88 year old grandad with Dementia which really secured my return! Down to serving my grandad a bottle of alcohol free wine I had brought along, with no charge.
The Galleria was so lovely. We had mussels to start and the sea bream and seafood linguine for mains. The food was so tasty and excellent value, really fresh and lovely! The staff were really friendly and the food came quite quickly! We had lovely cocktails and desserts. We went for date night/birthday and had a really relaxing evening. I would definitely recommend, it's also in a lovely area with a nice view.
I found the food to be top quality with sensible portions... not so small it's gone in the first mouthful and not so large you have to roll out of the place. There were a few minor whines on our table, not enough prawns in the starter for instance, but I could not fault my meal.
The decor of hard finishes has some acoustic issues and noise levels (we have loud friends) can grow as drink and conversations flow but this didn't stop us having a great evening both times we have been.
One word of warning, the floor can get quite slippery when wet (cue Bon Jovi) and a waitress ended up on her back by the kitchen.
We stumbled across this restaurant having not booked anywhere for dinner on a previous visit to Cambridge - and so glad we did! Fantastic service with waiters who are knowledgeable about the dishes helping us to make our choices. Every course was delicious, and as for the grilled monkfish (which came highly recommended)..........best fish dish I have ever had!!!! Looking forward to going back next time we're in Cambridge!
We booked for a special occasion - a significant birthday. The staff had arranged a cake to be brought in. My peppercorn steak was excellent while my wife loved her spiced moroccan chicken. The view from the balcony provided plenty of entertainment watching the proficient and the less experienced punters on the river. A very enjoyable lunch. We have almost finished the cake which was delicious.
