Ordered: Sea bream ceviche, lime & chilli 9, delightful! Steak tartare, Burford brown egg yolk, toasted sourdough 11, this was a problem with communication with the waitress. Asked for a small portion, she said it was very small, but in fact it could really be for two people. Was ordered by a petite woman. Carlingford rock oysters, shallot vinegar & brown bread 6no 18, was fabulous and fresh, but no bread arrived with these. Also ordered baked skate, which was delightful, especially for skate. The escargot was nicely done, but had to also ask for bread with this. But the funny order was this: "Mixed leaves salad 3 French fries 4 French beans & confit shallot 4". This is what the menu said. I thought we needed some greens and for £4 I ordered this for us. I read it out loud for comedic effect since there were three of us and I thought it was hilarious how it came with 3 french fries and 4 french beans. I commented that we would fight for the 4th bean. Hahaha. Well the joke was on us because the waitress, failed to see the humour in this. Although I read this word-for-word straight off the menu, she delivered us a mixed leaves salad. And 3 orders of french fries. And 3 orders of french beans. Well in the end I was perplexed until I figured out what happened and I ended up not saying anything but paying for the lot anyhow so I wouldn't cause a fuss with my lunch guests. The rosé is a nice Portugese variety. All-in-all, decent value and the menu is better than previously at hops, a bit less pub-like, which is nice. The atmosphere was fantastic - a sunny day out on the patio with heaters to take the edge off the cool breeze.

Fun Easter Sunday lunch here with good Easter egg hunt and other activities for the children. Good outside space when the weather is good. Nicely cooked Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Delicious chocolate egg dessert. Very attentive service.

The menu online didnt match what was actually available. A different table were offered a choice from ala carte to make up the online offer but we weren’t. They didnt have our booking on their systems when we arrived. Given the choice around the area we wont be back in a hurry.

So all in all this is a nice place and the majority of us took advantage of the roast dinner and glass of wine for £18, however those who opted for something from the menu were left very disappointed. Steaks were overcooked on x2 attempts and didn't taste great. However, I will say the roast dinners were very tasty and we will go back.....just for the roast

The food was delicious and the service was top class.
Made all the better by the friendly and efficient service from all the staff.

The relaxed bistro style of Galvin Hop was very welcome at the end of the week. Our Friday night meal was good value, well served and presented. We both agreed that the food was very tasty, and the portions of sufficient size for the three courses. We were pleased that the deal included wine, water and coffee and we will certainly return!

Had an excellent lunch with an old work colleague recently at Galvin Hop. Despite it being busy with Christmas lunches we were given a quiet corner so we could easily hear each other. We both had excellent grilled octopus as our starter and then venison haunch and vegetarian option for mains - both of which were very good. The carmelised banana dessert which we shared was also delicious. Service was very attentive but we never felt rushed. Overall a very good relaxed lunch.

Amazing flavours. We shared a few things from starters to mains and we enjoyed everything we ordered; each dish was well-balanced. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the baby octopus.

We decided not to do the deal for 2 courses and a glass of brut for £19.95 after looking at the menu options. 2 x choices for starters, mains and dessert only. Nothing very appealing. We went for the main menu and all ordered the same due to lack of choices. Flat iron steaks were £24 and chewy. Wine was excellent. Service was very good.

Came here for the Bottomless brunch and have to say the service is fantastic. Looked after as soon as we entered the door and drinks are replaced on the brunch menu as soon as you have finished them.
My only negative would be that I had the beef and it had a strong taste of charcoal as did my wife's.
Great for a Sunday afternoon and would definitely recommend.

Visited the restaurant for Sunday lunch with friends, the deal of £17.50 for a roast and glass of wine was brilliant. The food was outstanding, the beef brisket was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. The house Merlot to accompany the meat was great too.
Nice atmosphere with all tables full with diners, there seemed like a buzz about the place. Service could have been more prompt, I guess it was a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch though so not too much of a problem. Will visit again.

Such a lovely hidden gem! Service was amazing. And the bottomless prosecco was better than I have had anywhere in London- they leave the bottles on the table for self service- rather than a top up every now and then!!

An old mate & I ate here on 20th Dec for dinner. Service was good despite it being busy. We shared a scotch (duck) egg and padron peppers to start then both had a burger washed down with a Sicilian red. No issues with food whatsoever, in fact we both thought everything was good (and better than we expected based on a few other reviews I've read) & I'd be more than happy to eat there again. Not the cheapest place but no more expensive than many similar places around the area.
