I’ve brought my Mum to lots of Michelin star restaurants in the past and we enjoyed all of them. You know it will be small portions, which is fine as it’s the experience you are there for. We did find the portions particularly small compared with other 2 and 3 Michelin star restaurants. The waiting staff are friendly and attentive, and they do bring round decent (though not brilliant) bread constantly in between and during courses as that’s what’s there to fill you up. It seems like a loss not to just provide seasonable vegetables or potatoes that accompany (at least most of) the dishes, as they do in other fine dining restaurants. I enjoyed my first vegetarian course but the second was just alright, it lacked depth of flavour; a lot of fine dining restaurants are yet to figure out how to create complex flavour profiles for vegetarian mains.

The Taste of Summer promotion is an extremely good value way to experience Galvin La Chapelle. It's not the kind of high-tech mucked-about-with culinary ingenuity that some starred restaurants offer in place of food, but merits its laurels for being nevertheless clever while satisfying. A highlight this time was the foie gras "negroni", with layers of unexpectedly contrasting flavours. Faultless service on this occasion, in La Chapelle's customary friendly and unpretentious style.

I visited this restaurant for a birthday lunch and wasn’t disappointed. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are amazing. My next visit will be for a Sunday lunch, which I highly recommend.

The food was excellent-very good turbot as the main course. However I have downgraded the ambience due to the fact that the next table there was an “influencer “ who took photos of every dish that arrived over the course of almost 2 hours. This involved setting up an additional blinding flashlight that was very disturbing. The staff took no action over this despite the disturbance to other diners. Maybe the online support from influencers is important to the restaurant

The service is stand out - they make you feel so special. The food is good. We went for the set menu and the portions are a little small. The atmosphere is gorgeous. They didn't rush us, we stayed for 3h (table of 2). Overall lovely evening - Ill be coming back!

We tried the 7 course taster menu and every course was lovely. This was certainly a fine, fine meal. Ambience was low key, and sophisticated and the restaurant had a gentle buzz of fellow diners conversing. Overall a lovely place for a special occasion. Great place for a romantic dinner. We went for the vegetarian 7 course tasting menu and it was amazing. We enjoyed it as much as the last time. For me this is the best restaurant in town to enjoy a full vegetarian fine dining experience without feeling like you missing out on something. Can highly recommend it.

Restaurant setting is beautiful. We had a tasting menu and Service was very slow between each dish. We had to remind the waiter to speed up the process. We had to remind the waiter for bread. The wine pairing was terrible. This was not a one star Michelin restaurant. Definitely not worth £940 between the four of us.

Very disappointing experience - 900£ for 4 people à la carte - very basic meals - foie gras to be forgotten and ridiculous portion of beef for the main - genuinely disappointing - kitchen closing at 9pm?! won’t go again - I rarely leaves reviews but on this one I’m really disappointed

It was an excellent return visit Faultless service and a delicious tasting menu, a shame the crab lasagne was not on this menu but that was easily rectified by adding an extra course to share ! Each course was delicious and the paired wines perfect We must thank the Maitre d’hotel Franco Becci for making sure we had a wonderful evening , nothing was too much trouble for him.

We booked for my 30th birthday, and have been before. Although they couldn’t find the booking at first, it was all sorted and we were shown to a lovely table. We chose the vegan tasting menu and it was exceptional. The service was attentive and our waiter was very welcoming and engaging. Fantastic experience and already looking to book again when the vegan menu has the next seasonal changes.

Great venue and a wonderful staff who delivered a great taster menu with good wine pairings for two old friends enjoying their Christmas catch up over a 5 hour lunch. Thank you

We really enjoyed visiting the restaurant. The staff were very friendly , professional and knowledgeable. Th food was however a little disappointing. The Vegan menu did not live up to the expectations of such as restaurant. The dishes chosen from the main menu, although delicious, arrived barely warm . A little disappointing as we were entertaining.
