Critical acclaim has been heaped upon Galvin La Chapelle, a true destination restaurant and with good reason. This fabulous dining spot, just off of London’s famous Bishopsgate is the work of celebrated Chef-Restaurateur brothers, Chris and Jeff Galvin, and epitomises their approach to designing and running restaurants in every sense. Indeed, Galvin La Chapelle has all the wow-factor of Windows with the stylish refinement of Galvin Bistrot de Luxe while carving out its own very unique character at the same time. The interior is truly special, as is the food – cosmopolitan, continental and wholly elegant every step of the way, creative but familiar, special but unpretentious – no wonder Galvin La Chapelle was named Tatler’s Restaurant of the Year 2010 and AA Best London Restaurant 2010.

As this was a special occasion we went for the tasting menu with accompanying wine. What wonderful food it was. It was all very good but our particular favourites included the crab lasagne, mushroom risotto and the brie. The accompanying wines worked very well in the main and the sommelier was very good. The staff in general were very attentive. An attractive venue with a good balance of music.

I went back to Galvin La Chapelle for dinner with clients last week. The decorative mix between old and new in the style of the restaurant always impresses and the cuisine remains of a high standard. The wine list is good although a multiple of five seems to have been applied to many of the wine retail prices so good bottles start looking outrageously expensive.

Had a business lunch. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The food was very good and the wine selection was vast. having round tables that sat 7 people was also a nice change. I would recommend for romance or business lunch.

Great family meal with a wide menu choice. My only grumble is the lack of refills with drinks you have to keep asking the waiting staff they dont just do it. Shame. Had to ask five times for wine top up and found ourselves with no drinks on several occasions. Seems some waiting staff favour larger group tables or maybe the ones spending more money. 🤔

La Chapelle is a fine restaurant inside a Chapelle which give it a classy although almost esoteric historic feel which makes great impression. The service was excellent and the food did not disappoint: I enjoyed the risotto recommanded by the Italian waiter. Thanks

Outstanding restaurant and service. My fiancée and I were celebrating our anniversary. This restaurant was perfect. Attentive staff, without ever being intrusive. The food was also without fault. We highly recommend Galvin La Chapelle. An amazing experience.

Lovely New Year's Eve lunch at this charming restaurant. Service was efficient and friendly and food delicious. Just a couple of negatives - the tables for two are very close together and we had two, loud, clearly spoiled and egocentric young men sitting beside us who clearly wanted the whole restaurant to hear their conversation. Fortunately, when we arrived, they were on their final course so they did depart before our starters were finished, which was a relief. Also, my husband has the lamb which he said was tasty but it did arrive with a thick strip of rather unappetising, unrendered fat attached. We did mention this when the plates were cleared. We really did enjoy the meal on the whole and the sommelier was very interesting and helpful but as far as Michelin restaurants go, we wouldn't rush back.

Having read other reviews we were expecting great things - but were left disappointed.
The food is tasty but uninspiring and certainly not Michelin star level.
Service was particularly disappointing and nowehere near exceptional - we had better service in Pizza express a few nights before.
The wine in the wine pairing was delicious but was poured about 10 minutes before the course arrived (we did the wine pairing 7 course menu) and was so meagre in volume that you had to be very careful not to drink it all before the meal arrived.
Wouldn’t go back

As this is one of my wife's favourite restaurants it was no surprise when she chose it for her birthday meal. For this special occasion we ventured off piste, making our choices from the a la carte menu. The entire meal was outstanding and the sommelier steered us towards some delicious choices. A serious amount of money changed hands but that was our choice. Stick to the set menu - and don't overdo the booze - and it's really great value.

Compared to previous visits I had the feeling that the food quality was a little bit down. The fish was slightly overcooked and also the the terrine as a starter lacked some taste. The service, however, was perfect - as was the atmosphere.
