My parents were visiting and it was such a perfect evening! I feel back bc is recent events but Ashley was amazing! Could it have asked for a better waitress!
Love this place! Been many times
We had salmon and trout and they were incredibly good. Everyone (all three of us) were happy when we left. Gaslight is one of my favorite places for dinner in my neighborhood. Will definitely come back for more !
Out waitress Olivia was outstanding !! Food was great, service was great. Highly recommend
Great food and atmosphere. The waitress was very attentive.
Food could’ve been warmer and no one came back to refill waters or coffee.
Food was so good that we didn’t leave with any left overs!!
I think open table should not enforce minimum 50-character review texts.
My stars are an accurate representation of hat I think about the specified aspects of this place.
Awesome food and service
Service and decor was great, the food however was not. To start, we had to send our water back because the glasses they were in smelled disgusting. They honestly smelled like fish tank water, it was terrible. It must have been the dishwasher they were “cleaned” in because our server brought us new glasses and there was no smell. The split chicken included two very small, flavorless legs. Overall for the price, we’ve had much better meals elsewhere. Would not return or recommend this place.
Our waiter was extraordinary and our food choices were amazing. We will definitely be going back
We had a party of 6 and had 5 different meals. Everyone enjoyed their food and our waitress Celeste was excellent. The manager came over twice to check on everything.
Went there for lunch to celebrate friend’s birthday. Food was just mediocre. Ordered French onion soup and BLT with avocado. The soup was good. The sandwich was disgusting looking. The avocado spread was smeared on the outside of the slices of bread and it was unappetizing looking. Taste was passable. For three ladies who ate lunch (1 ordered wedge salad, 1 ordered tuna melt, and I ordered half soup half sandwich combo) the bill with tip was about $110.
It was not worth it for just mediocre everything. Will not be going back.
The food was barely warm - duck in my daughter's meal was very tough and the poutine wasn't melted at all. Our waiter on Sun 3/1 was very nice.
Loved, loved, loved this restaurant. Definitely will go back. Service was outstanding as was the food. One of my all time favorites!
Restaurant itself is nicely done. Service was adequate. Food was just OK and pricy.
Wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere was spectacular, our waiter was fun and knowledgeable and the food was delicious
We had a lovely meal and the wait staff was very helpful. There were two largish parties in the room we were seated in who did not come in until after we had begun our meal. If we had know that we would have been asked to be seated in another area of the restaurant because of the noise.
Pretty basic truffle burger with fries. Thought it was a little over cooked. Server was hard to understand and took forever with the check.
The food was great and the service was excellent. Highly recommend
Generally the food was great. I enjoyed the NY Strip and my wife really liked the Beet and something salad. Our companions enjoyed their meals too. The one-star ding was the cheese plate. We received 3 fairly small pieces of cheese, a few small slices of toast, some walnuts, and jelly. Unfortunately this small amount was for $18 (we would have thought it would have been more).
The biggest challenge was the waiter. Extra water had to be asked for. When given the dessert menus (quite late into the evening), he didn't come back around for 15 minutes to take the order (and even then I had to flag him down). That was weird.
Enjoyed Sunday brunch and our waiter, Jonathan, was excellent.
Nice atmosphere. Excellent service. Can be a bit loud at dinner time when the restaurant if full.
It was our first time here and very pleasant
Why bother with an open table reservation, they don’t seem to honor them. We hand 7:30 reservations for a Friday night, and we had to wait until almost 8:30 before we were seated. As a result, we were some of the last people in the restaurant by the time we finished dessert. Not a bad restaurant, but less likely to return if reservations don’t seem to mean anything.
I had a 7:30 reservation and they did not sit me until 8.
Great food, waitress was very busy and we had long periods of time in between courses
The night started with my guest and I arriving an hour early for our reservation. The Hostess informed us we could wait in the lounge and when a table was open she would seat us. Now as I always do I turned down my cell phone so not to disturb others. after about an hour and a half wait I noticed that a text was sent to my phone stating a table was available. The hostess never came and got us as stated, we had been seated only a few feet away from her. We still made the best and had a good time, food was great; even though I had asked for a special order and was told, that it would be no problem. When the food arrived my request was not met and after waiting a while, I needed to ask another waiter to send over our waiter. I pointed out the issue with the order; the lack of Au Poivre sauce (Cognac Peppercorn Sauce) , I was told that the Au Poivre sauce had been added, even though my Center Cut Filet Mignon, still tasted like it had a Garlic Herb butter & Sauce Bordelaise. The Filet Mignon was still very good and the meat was cook properly, I was just disappointed with the lack of knowledge our waiter had and her just trying to brush us off, with this lack of knowledge.
Service wasn’t bad but food was just average at best. Mixed drinks seemed to have very little alcohol in them. Prices were expensive for the amount of food that you got. We spent around over $500 between 4 people and everyone had the same feeling that we didn’t get a good value.
My wife and I had dinner reservations for 5:30 on 2/15 and it was a great evening of dinner. Our waitress was great. Personable and attentive. She filled our water glasses often and left a bottle of tap for us to fill our own. We were asked multiple times if we would require another drink, even the manager happened by our table and noticed my wife's wine glass not full. We declined the offer of another pour but the attentiveness was excellent.
The food was great. Escargot, French onion soup and wedge salad were excellent appetizers. The soup was seasoned exceptionally well. The broth was rich without being to salty. Onions were caramelized nicely, cheese was a great choice to top off the soup. Escargots with butter and garlic, what's not to love? The salad was my wife's I didn't have any. She said the blue cheese was excellent and it was ice that it wasn't ice berg lettuce. From my view it looked like an ample sized salad. We both had the steak frites ordered medium. We got what we ordered. The steak was great, the French fries potatoes with the steak was a great combination. The acidity of the tomato is a great accompaniment to the steak and fried potato. We had 2 desserts. Profiteroles and red velvet tartine. Excellent both of them.
I think the key yo having a good meal at Gaslight is that you don't have to be somewhere afterwards. Meaning, if you can take your time and let the dinner run it's course you'll have an excellent meal. If you need to make that movie or back in time for the babysitter maybe go somewhere else. Gaslight is meant to be enjoyed slowly.
Normally this our favorite restaurant for special occasions. Made a reservation for 8:45. Didn’t get sat until 9:30. Salad came with no dressing and no question of anchovies or not. Sat next to kitchen with all yelling and entire wait staff waiting around and complaining about food not coming out. Asked for bread and said it would be a while. At 10:30 we still had no food and were about to head out to somewhere with food. Food finally came at 10:45. Overall a pretty bad experience and felt bad for the wait staff who was hung out to dry to “deal” with all upset guests. We are off to find a new favorite.
Great meal and experience. Being Valentine’s Day they booked too many reservations so even with a reservation we had to wait 45 minutes for our table. That wasn’t ideal. But the experience made up for it.
Pate was completely solid and dry. Did not eat it and waitress did not check-in about it. Filet mignon cooked perfectly.
Valentine’s Day, way over booked, waiting area or lack there of extremely crowded, seated nearly an hour beyond reservation time, seated off the bar extremely close to other patrons, extremely warm in the building...not a good experience in general
Great food but we waited 45 minutes for our reservation
Overall I was happy with the experience. Only criticism was that the Atlantic Char was only warm not what I would call prepared properly.
My husbands steak was undercooked and then came back way over cooked. The bill was $130 all in for the steak and frites, two drinks, and a salad. Would have expected better food for the price.
Food was good. Waitress was very nice. Waited long time for entree. Prices good. Portions small. Bread was yummy. Been there many times will be back.
