Lovely experience, fantastic food and friendly staff. Had to wait a while for the food but that was the only downfall.

Great restaurant, my second visit. Raphael was an outstanding waiter, knew his wine and his food. Attentive, sincerely dedicated to his job, food an exceptional experience.

Steaks were delicious and staff attentive and friendly, my son was being a bit naughty and the staff helped by carrying him around a bit. Also the location is great, it was my wifes birthday and we had a walk round Hampstead after. If you go I would say stick to the Steaks and the wine. Other options off the menu are overpriced ie 25 pounds for 2 grilled Octopus tentacles. I also very much see this as a special occasion place so only go for Birthdays or Anniversaries. Overall though if you live in North London, like your Steak and don't mind spending a bit of cash, then this is your place.

Is always great to come back to our favourite spot in Hampstead! The best quality steaks and an excellent service in a smart and friendly atmosphere.

Food was nice and the steak was cooked well but it was seriously over-priced.
I can get much more food, and same quality for a quarter of the price at my local steak house.
Won't be going back there again unless I get a voucher or a discount.
The place was a little too dark for me too.
Overall- it was nice but very expensive unnecessarily.
I don't like the fact you have to pay separately for sides and every little thing you want to order.
My bill came to £135 for 2 people and the only alcoholic drink I had was a glass of wine and no desert!
They did ask what the occasion was, so when they found out it was for my birthday, the sent a tray with happy birthday on it and a few chocolates which was a sweet touch!

Great birthday meal at this local restaurant which always delivers a consistently high standard of food and service. We all had steaks - sides are charged extra and this adds to the bill. They put a candle and happy birthday writing on the dessert to acknowledge my son’s birthday which was a lovely touch. Great wine menu. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

Food was very average - steaks tasted of nothing, cauliflower cheese was watery and waiter kept trying to push the specials on us. Overall not a good experience and i won’t go back in a rush.

Great for date night! Really loved that they could show you the different cuts of meat before ordering. The mushrooms were a little bit dull as a side but the chips were delicious! The wine choice is really extensive too and we liked that we could get a size similar to a carafe.

We went specifically for Doggy Sunday and it was a thoroughly enjoyable day! Organised chaos at it's finest. Pooches were free to wander, staff were accommodating and the Sunday set menu was very good value. We will definitely be booking into another doggy Sunday in the near future

Had a great meal at Gaucho Hampstead. The waitress was very attentive and we both had the sirloin steak, which was excellent and perfectly cooked. The only downsides were the music and lighting. The lighting, while creating a nice atmosphere, was so low I couldn't read the menu. The music was quite loud and very night clubby, which was a bit intrusive/overpowering for a restaurant. Otherwise though, the food was very good and, if the restaurant could address the ambience issues, I'd definitely recommend.

I went with my girlfriend and two kids , got put on a tiny table that was ideal for three people . Wasn’t happy about that especially with having a pram . Some of the staff were very unhelpful. Quite rude to be fair. Food was lovely as expected, as I’ve eat in other gauchos. I Definitely wouldnt go back to Hampstead gauchos .

All meat was ordered medium rare and varied from pools of blood to no moisture left at all. The main meals were cold and the broccoli extremely over cooked and sitting in cold water. The two course meal got 4 people took 3 hours to be served for no reason.

Tuesday is not the busiest of evening to eat out and the restaurant was about half full. Either the waiter had more tables to cover than usual or the kitchen/grill staff were under pressure - resulting in slow service and a fair time between ordering and receiving our meal. One steak, ordered medium, arrived rare and the other blue - which was fine. The steaks are always tasty but then you pay for what you get. We'll be visiting again when hopefully "the glitch" in service isn't repeated.

I had informed the restaurant it was an anniversary meal and if there was anything they could do as a nod to this would be appreciated and I would pay extra for it if necessary. However despite ordering three courses no nod was given to our occasion at all. Usually you get a happy anniversary message on the desert or something similar to that but sadly nothing!
We were seated quickly but no sooner we’re we seated then raw steaks were brought to us. It would have been nice to settle at the table and have a drink in hand before the speech about the steaks were given. The table was wobbly and the top rotated which wasn’t great.
Our starters were lovely and prompt as were our drinks. We requested the main which was a sharing steak to be cooked medium. My husband likes his rare but knew I wouldn’t eat it. But when it came out it was very rare. As it was sliced the blood ran all round the plate. The server offered to take it back to be cooked further but I went off it by then and my husband ate it all. I stuck to just the salad which was nice. My husband said the steak was nice and full of flavour but had regretted not getting it cooked a little further.
The waitress was attentive and constantly kept our glasses topped up and the ambience of the restaurant was pleasant but I do wish we had been seated further at the back. As opposed to a couple with a young child and a table of rowdy students. Deserts were also lovely but overall bearing in mind how much money we spent and for the occasion we felt let down. Sadly we will not be returning.

Family celebration .... But it was noisy, cramped and not very appealing. The food was average - it actually felt more like a cheap canteen. Not a big deal but only one loo working, not very clean and the toilet access was difficult due to the number of table rammed in.

It was disappointing especially as we had driven for over 2 hours to get there !!! An expensive mistake compared to other Gauchos .....

We visited Gaucho for breakfast on Mother's Day. The restaurant itself is lovely, with a quiet bar area at the front for cocktails, which are expensive but very good. The breakfast pancake portion size was rather small, even for our children, and the full breakfast was unusual - it would have been nice to see steak incorporated somehow and the sausage was strangely spicy. It's lovely for a special occasion as it does feel very much a treat. We will definitely return, but probably for dinner rather than breakfast.

It is all about the meat and they know their business; good quality meat, cooked to perfection.
The menu is excellent and very clear to understand, the waiter was quick to explain the options and was helpful with ideas.
The reception was slow, might be the computer system but I suspect it is more about the service, and in a similar fashion, our departure went unnoticed by the table waiter, the bar and the reception. This made us feel a little unwelcome.

The website menu is misleading.
After Dark menue advirtised on the website is servied after 9:30 or later as we were told but that fact has no specification on the website.

The good was great, service was excellent, but the whole meal felt really rushed as everything was served so quickly. The front of house team at the door were pretty stand offish and when we said we wanted a drink at the bar before going to our table we were told we should sit down as “a lot of tables are arriving at 8”?!

They seem to forget that it’s not simply all about the food, it’s about the customer experience. A shame, because it could have been so much more or a great evening. In the end, we felt rushed and had paid £185 to feel like that!
