The best food I’ve had for a long time!!
Little things go a big way. Meat board shocking and they have got rid of the oils and salt for the bread and also Diane sauce ( a steak restaurant aswell)
Been so many times but seems to of gone down hill a little
Fantastig food, great service but the music was way to loud.
Good food, starter and main. Good cocktails. Good service
Faultless! Would recommend highly to anyone, will be returning soon
High standard and delivers. Bar area could do with some atmosphere and mood lighting. Service was very good and dinner excellent.
Very attentive service and very friendly. Made my birthday feel very special with a shot and birthday message!
Great location and top decor with great service and fantastic steak
Excelent Steaks! Some of the best we've ever tasted.
Service was excellent food was even better everytime I go to any gaucho it's always 10/10
Best food best atmosphere Steaks were cooked to perfection
Nice place but a little loud. Had to shout to make ourselves heard. Conversation is only possible with the person sitting right beside you.
Wow just amazing, great service and food albeit I’m 99% sure I didn’t get what i ordered (chorizo with cracklings) the beef I got was delicious and it was just a shame we had to book an earlier table as when we were leaving a live band was just warming up which would have been great. Definitely recommend and will return (if they promise to get my order right)
This was my first return visit in a few years and In truly disappointed by it and won’t return again in the future.
Years ago it felt very exclusive, people dressed well, service was amazing and the best steak I’d ever tried.
I suggested a visit for an anniversary dinner to my partner who’d not been, but like myself enjoys a good steak..... you’ll love it I said...... famous last words.
We were greeted and offered to be shown straight to our table or to have a drink first, of which we chose.
It was clear straight away that the bar man was drunk, slurring his words, his shirt unbuttoned above the waist and spilling drinks over the couple next to us. How he’d gone in noticed or reported until I told our waitress I’ll never know.
We were sat drinking and noticed a lot of the younger crowd (we are 40’s) coming in wearing trainers and baseball caps and being shown through to tables..... I was shocked as I’d didn’t think it would be the type of place to accept this.
After a short while we were escorted to our table which was unfortunately upstairs and very close to the speakers playing out loud dance music and sat around several table of young groups - including said baseball cap and trainers group of which we didn’t fit in. We were dressed up, hoping for a little calm romantic meal but it was just the opposite....
Steaks..... we ordered them Medium Rare but they were very much medium! Rather than wait for new steaks we honestly just wanted to eat and get out of there as soon as we could, so we ate them. I was just disappointed as the whole choosing your cut off a board etc had gone along with the expertly was they were always cooked!!
All in all just very disappointing with both of us joking about wishing we’d gone to Miller & Carter!!!
We had a wonderful time for our anniversary meal. Every member of staff we encountered was very personable and attentive. The food was outstanding and the attention to detail throughout the evening was exceptional.
The front of house staff were very welcoming and our personal server (sorry weve forgotten her name) was fantastic and extremely helpful.
There is keen attention to detail across the board, all the staff that dealt with us knew it was our anniversary and congratulated us and as far as the food is concerned its the best weve ever had. We will deffinatley be back again very soon. Thankyou.
In a word, disappointing. We had looked forward to returning to one of our favourite restaurants but it had changed almost beyond recognition. Yes, the same big room with it’s interesting different levels are still there but that’s about it. Poor service, awful steaks (I have had better bought from my local supermarket), banging tunes that makes the place seem like a club lounge and not a restaurant and ridiculously high prices.
The red wine I had was nice though.
Finally, the other shock was how many young people were there. This used to be aimed at the middle aged, discerning couple but the place was full of twenty-somethings.
It seems that Gaucho has changed for the worst. We will not be returning.
On arrival we was greeted by two very polite staff members who seated us, even though we was slightly early. The service throughout the meal was outstanding, food came quickly and was served at the highest standard. Would definitely return.
Great service, though was asked repeatedly if food okay (waitress and someone else) when courses came which was a minor inconvenience. Food was lovely, amazing steaks and sauces and I love my ceviche starter. Great wine list, lots of Malbec options. The argentine martini was amazing also!
They had a bank playing as it was a Friday night, and they were really good!! I was impressed with the singers voice and the band as a whole were really tight. I hope they’re paid well as they deserve it!
Overall food and service was excellent, high quality steak, good wine list, friendly but non-intrusive staff. The only thing that stops me giving 5 stars all round were the chips (why do restaurants find it hard to make good chips?)
Absolutely beautiful food and gorgeous interior would definitely recommend and will be back
It was our parents’ anniversary and they were made to feel really special. The steaks were outstanding.
Great food and service
Would highly recommend this restaurant. Never been to the Gaucho in Manchester before, but from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and looked after. The food was outstanding and despite there being live music at the time, we could still hold a conversation across the table from each other. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and would 100% go back
Fantastic steak and the best service. Thank you for making my daughters birthday lovely.
Not a great night. They now have a DJ and it’s like being in a nightclub. Food was ok but for the price we expected better and have been before when it was better. Service was not particularly attentive given the number of staff and the fact the restaurant wasn’t that busy.
A dining experience, rather than a meal out. Terrific steak, as steak should be. Between the four of uswe enjoyed fillet, rump, ribeye and a churrasco de lomo. everything was cooked to perfection and served hot. Thank you Goucho, we will certainly be back.
A brilliant treat for a special occasion and a good choice of food and drinks to suit all budgets.
Wonderful service and food, awesome. Our server couldn’t have been more helpful bringing samples of wine to help us decide. Impressed.
Fantástico! La comida buenísima, carne exquisita y servicio maravilloso! Para ir todos los días!
Had an absolute wonderful time, will be going back more often.
First time at Gaucho’s - would definitely return and enjoy another chance to eat well! Wonderful service too!
Lovely evening - been to Gauchos in London many times but never first time in Manchester. The building is lovely. Great cocktails and amazing service from Paolo. Thanks x
We had an great time at Gauchos. The food and service were excellent and our server Francesca outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the wine recommended by sommelier Christian who took special care of us. We will definitely return.
Went for my husbands birthday, loved it! The food was really nice, I’m not a steak eater so it was purely for my husbands benefit but he thoroughly enjoyed a good steak being cooked perfectly. As for the non steak options my chicken was lovely and I couldn’t have asked for more than that! They even brought out a little mousse for my husband for his birthday after the meal with “happy birthday” written on the plate in chocolate, I though this was a very nice touch.
Wouldn’t be somewhere I would go for me but that’s as I’m not a steak eater as I said previously but I would definitely go again for my husband and would recommend to others.
We arrived with a reservation and no one was there to receive us, we had to get in, poke a bartender and request to be sat. Ambiance is horrendous to terrible for what it should be: seats very uncomfortable I was feeling the strings of the chair!
Prices are expensive which I wouldn't mind paying for the right place, definitely NOT at Gaucho.
For what it is advertised and one hears... it lacks of everything and is of average quality. Maybe it could be pulled up a lot more to meet standards ;)
Our waiter was fantastic. He made our night. Thank you to him.
Never been before but this will definitely be on my top 5 Manchester restaurants now. Excellent atmosphere and speedy service.
Thank you for taking your time to share your thoughts with us. We are delighted to hear that you had an excellent first visit. We will pass your feedback onto our restaurant team and we look forward to seeing you soon again in Gaucho.
As always, we had another great evening celebrating a birthday in gauchos. It’s our favourite restaurant and always will be!
Thank you for dining with us and for the 5* review. We are thrilled that you had another great experience and it was our pleasure to host your birthday celebration. Your feedback is very much valued and will be passed onto our team. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
First experience of gaucho Manchester and we were blown away. The place is so elegant service was lovely and the food was to die for. Will definitely be returning..

The service was amazing as always. Unfortunately, this time the fries were not as crispy as usually and the chimichurry sauce has changed to a pesto kind of sauce.
Still an amazing night out!
We visited the Gaucho Manchester on Saturday 3rd August to celebrate my sons 16th Birthday . I had booked the table on the 18th June and in the special requests explained it was a special birthday, first visit for my son and could we have a nice table.
The lady at check in was a little but flustered but the hostess seemed to know it was my sons birthday and took us to our table...... our table allocation was really disappointing, not only was it only set for 3 people and we were a party of , it was right by where the servers punch in orders and the last chair was hanging over into the kitchen.
We asked our server if we could be moved - and after speaking with the floor manager we were allocated another table - a really small table for 4 people :( Francesca was our server she was great and really looked after us for our whole stay.
What was disappointing around us in the Booths small parties of 3 people !
It seems that like a lot of restaurants the whole dining experience is the last thought and its how many covers you can set up. We worked and saved hard for this experience.
