Really first class; great food, service and atmosphere - many thanks!
Disappointing for my husbands 50th. Sat at a table near the door in the cold, moved table, didn’t have the wine we wanted (or some others on the list), added the lobster to my steak for and extra £20 and literally got 1 1/2 inches of straggly overdone lobster. Nothing special for my husbands birthday no candle/little dessert or anything. Unsold apparently ‘premium estrella’ which was dreadful and we sent back but still charged for it. Ticked the box and went but won’t go back
We booked a 3 course menu with a glass of bubbly as part of the London Restaurant Week deal. Our waiter Camilo was extremely attentive and committed to providing a first class service. The food was exceptional and our experience could not have been any better. We loved the atmosphere as it was intimate enough for a date but still quite vibrant and akin to what a Friday night in London should be all about. Thank you Camilo and all staff that took care of us - we’ll definitely be back!
Ancho steak was amazing, served with really nice sauces. Deffo the highlight of the meal! Service was good. We got charged for an extra item in error but this got corrected quickly and we did ask for tap water, but got charged £5 for bottled.
Amazing food!!!! The fillet steak was as usual perfect. I will be dining there again soon, great service and lovely gin and tonic bomber to start with.
Food was amazing like A-M-A-Z-I-N-G from starters to dessert, not a single miss, the waitress was nice as well, love the ambiance and the loved the decor!
Totally worth the price (which not even that expensive, for the quality you get)
Never disappointed with the quality of food and the service is excellent. Prices are what you expect for a good steak in London
Bruno was one of the best waitresses I have ever encountered
Set lunch menus very good value.
Excellent service from the minute we entered, lovely relaxed atmosphere, not at all pretensious, food was excellent as was the service.
Our waiter “Manuel” was very friendly, helpful and well informed.
Atmosphere in the restaurant excellent would recommend it to anyone
More than one hour waiting for the main course…
Thé food was cold, the bread and empanadas undercooked and everything lacked flavour. The service was slow and the restaurant was chaotic. There must definitely be something wrong if the service staff apologised not once but at least twice during each course. Way too expensive for the quality of the food. Did not expect this way below par experience from a restaurant in such a prime location in Central London.
Cold food, small portions especially the scallop starters. Food sent back as stone cold. Expensive and not really worth the price. Staff blamed the issues on being very busy and short staffed. Why take so many bookings then ? Not impressed on this occasion.
Great menu, quality steak good cocktails and friendly service, worth a visit
The starter was nice. Then they decided to turn on the air conditioning and it was blowing cold air all over us and made my , VERY tough fillet steak even colder. The fries looked liked like they had been first cooked over a week ago. Definitely not worth the £200 paid. They did however remove one of the deserts from the menu as my partner could not eat it due to it being so sweet. I have to say the staff were very helpful..just very disappointed with the quality of the food.
Food was incredible and the service was great, very attentive.
I’ve loved gaucho since I was young and it never fails to disappoint.
A bottle of wine and 1 coke, took 20 minutes or so to arrive to the table.....when the wine finally arrived, the waitress tried for 5 minutes to open the cork by using the blade within her opener to cut off the tape, when she finally realized that it was actually a corkless bottle...........
The steak was undercooked and cold and my friend had to wait for a new steak to be properly cooked, while he was watching the rest of us eating.......
Overall performance well below average for a restaurant who has the audacity to charge £40 the steak and wanna be considered as one of the finest steak restaurants in London.......
Sunday roast definitely not worth going here for. Very disappointing. Cold food, salad tasteless. Service very good though, can’t fault them at all.
When your paying £50+ for a steak and it doesnt even come with chips, you know its going to be expensive! and then for the sauces and everything else on top! for 4 of us with a steak each and a couple of drinks which we had to keep asking for come to £360 for an hour an half in the place, table was booked at 9.45 and we did not sit down until 10.30, you can imagine everything was rushed! the food was ok but the same sort of steak you would get at a miller and carter for alot cheaper, i know its "london" prices but you would think you would get abit more care to your table if your paying them prices, also the lady on the door was very rude, and when they wanted to close we got rushed out the door. will not be coming back, would rather spend money somewhere you get amazing customer service. a few people left and said the service is not good and the waitress/waiter was rude.
Slow service, forgot about a couple requests on orders and who dosent have ketchup?
Amazing place and food, make sure you take mobile phone or a torch to read the menu
Fab food as always
Music was by far the down fall of the evening
Far far to load and just a noise
Maybe it’s a age thing
Definitely going to go again service, food everything was 10/10. Class.
Almost all the food was freezing cold by the time we got it, the steaks were served on ice cold plates, there was no value in the food, I think it was saved by a fantastic waiter and a very humble manager, who did discount the meal, the chips were hard and cold, the rest was ok, about my 12th time to this restaurant and by far the worse by a million miles, for the price it was worlds apart from what you got.
Best steak I have ever had. Would defo go back again
We visited for our anniversary and it was truly a beautiful experience.
The quality of the beef was exceptional and overall quality of the food was brilliant. Service was perfect and friendliness of staff brilliant.
Will not forget this experience.
We come from Barcelona and we had a wonderful time, an amazing lunch and great service. It’s the second time we’ve been there and we are looking to repeat whenever we can.
We specially loved the straws that were made from avocado seed from a Mexican technology. Good for you!!!
Highly recommend this great place!
Service was horrible, the food was bad. Management and server didn’t even care. Never going back there again.
Our server was the best, she was very helpful and the food and cocktails were delicious.
Special mention to our waiter - Bruno- who was excellent. It was a special occasion to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday
Nice attentive staff however food quality just not what it used to be. Missing items in menu such as creamed corn etc. Steak was ok but on par with Miller and Carter. Do love the setting.
Excellent filler steak ,great service , nice ambience
Attentive staff, excellent food and lovely wine! wonderful for a business lunch
Excellent evening, food and service exemplary. Will be back soon!!
Menu, service, ambience and table layouts all excellent.
Great service and meal. The food lived up to my expectations and the server made some outstanding wine pairing suggestions.
When we arrived we were shown to the top floor and were the first to arrive we had a lovely table. Having been to Manchester Gaucho just a week before we were really looking forward to our meal and service expected at Gaucho. However! We ordered about 10 mins later and our drinks came quickly. After a further 45 min the head waiter approached us to apologise for our wait and that our food would be out within 5 mins. 15 minutes later our main course arrived and the chateaubriand was delicious, the fries were nice but a few were burnt and the portions very small (we saw others complain and send their fries back). After my main course I went to the toilet where there were no hand towels or loo roll and water splashed everywhere. Considering we were first to be seated I knew this hadn’t been checked since much earlier in the day. I mentioned quietly and to be fair the staff members I spoke to at the desk were mortified. Just the week before I had had the brownie and ice cream in Manchester and it was one of the nicest chocolate puds I had ever had, so ordered the same. Sadly it didn’t compare in fact we both said it was inedible, it was burnt on the outside and so sticky in the middle you couldn’t swallow it. Such a shame. The service also didn’t compare to the week before where the team were very quick to clear the table and ensure we were okay. Having been to Gaucho in London and Manchester before, I will definately go again as the steak is delicious but overall what a huge disappointment. The head waiter who was lovely removed the puds from our bill as they had obviously not been eaten.
I was surprised how busy the restaurant was for a Sunday. As always Gaucho did not disappoint. It has now become my son’s favourite restaurant!
Steak AMAZING! Sticky toffee pudding with dolce de leche ice cream (instead of clotted cream) is my son’s favourite dessert EVER.
Thank you Gaucho for delivering again. It was the perfect birthday treat for my 13 year old.
Sorry to say this time the hole experience way not good
The food was served wrong not one but twice. Also the second time round the meal was served some ended up over my shirt. Then after leaving my wife had a full. If we’d had lunch and not only a drink this my not have happened. Very disappointed!!!
