Service was good to start with, the first two courses arriving promptly but had to wait an excessive time for dessert. I ordered a drink which I am sure was forgotten about as I had to remind the waiter that I had still not received it. Although a little disappointed I would visit again to see if my experience was a one off
A little bit confusing at check in, but it was busy. Went to the bar for a pre dinner drink, had a lovely cocktail whilst I waited for our table to be prepared.
One seated, the waiter was quick to ask us whether we needed a drink, service was good in general and, the menu quite good too.
Once we had ordered a quick look around revealed a well laid out restaurant, fairly comfortable.
The food was fairly quick to arrive and, was well worth the wait as it was, as you would expect, well presented and absolutely beautiful.
All in all, a very pleasant experience, well worth a visit, great cocktails and food, lovely atmosphere too.
Forgot an order
Steaks are mediocre
The trio desert we tried was not good at all
Too noisy, tables in second floor are too close. First floor is ok. Not the second floor
Went here Saturday night, great food, great atmosphere and had a lovely waiter named Chipreyan. I’ll be back soon.
Lovely food and service however the ambiance wasn’t as imagined as we were seated next to a very noise group booking although we requested a quiet seat as we were visiting for our anniversary dinner.
The food is super good, the ambience so so...I prefer and recommend Gaucho in south kensington
Impressive setting and decor, but could do with a bit more bling and sparkle, especially in the festive season.... service was excellent, food came quickly and as ordered.... and the bill was prepared quickly when I asked for it..... and of course the steak was very good... i had the marinated and butterflied sirloin cooked medium well.... it was very good indeed ... but obviously didn’t compare to the top grade wagyu beef.... the cost was only a little bit more than expected but maybe that was because of the automatically added service charge of 12.5 %... overall, a very good experience
Coming from Switzerland for the week-end. Gaucho was recommended by a friend. Super restaurant with exceptional meet...
You can’t visit London without eating there !!!
Went for my boyfriends 21st birthday as surprise and I couldn’t have asked for anything better! Defo 11/10 would recommend.
Thank you for making the evening so special and we will definitely be back! X
From start to finish we had a brilliant evening. The staff were excellent and the food was delicious.
Very tasty steaks. We opted for the tasting board which was fab. Lots of meat. The sides were tasty recommend the carrots and spinach. We tried theee different sauces which were all delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant. We took our 6 year old daughter and found this restaurant very child friendly.
Definitely would recommend this place. The food was absolutely delicious, service was amazing, nice atmosphere. It is not the cheapest place to go to eat but it worth the money. Definitely coming back, the beef steaks absolutely amazing.
Opted for the Seasonal Set Menu prices at £49 pp or £56 if you wanted fillet. Looking at the menu the courses sounded great but on arrival we soon realised we had made a mistake and should of went with the normal set menu priced at half the price and still offering similar sized steaks as mains. Overall the food was average (steak cooked well, but sides came and potatoes were cold and hard, were replaced but not much better, dinner finished by the time the were cooked) and I feel was overpriced for the Xmas menu compared with standard set menu. Service was very good, interiors was setup well and stylish.
Very disappointed. Was meant to be a special occasion spent with friends, but was so overcrowded and noisy I couldn't even hear the person I was sat next to. We had to track down a waiter for the wine menu and to order drinks, and was then told our dinner order would be at least 30 minutes. The food was very nice but the service was fast and furious, not the relaxing dining experience we'd hoped for when paying those sort of prices. Couldn't wait to leave. So sad, we'd been looking forward to it for so long.
first time in Gaucho in London and took my partner here after a busy day shopping on Oxford Street / Regent's st. it is a great location and very close to the shopping district. We got a very nice welcome and then taken to our table. we were thereat 4:30pm and the place was rammed and a bit noisy for us. The service was great, very friendly and a great explanation on their steaks / cuts of meat (don't go if you are a veggie) . Food was really tasty and came out in good time. Only negative was there are only 2 ladies toilets, which as it was so busy meant a bit of a queue.
Have visited this restaurant a few times and always enjoyed it. On this visit we were sat in the bar, it was rather noisy but the service and food were great.
Staff lovely. Need to sort out wine list. First two on list were out of stock. This is not acceptable. Felt like staff told to push more expensive option. Choice limited on set menu. Steak was ok but nothing special.
Won’t be back sadly
Fantastic atmosphere, food and drink. Was our first visit and will definitely return when in the area again!
Buena atención, buen ambiente y muy buena carne.
Excellent service, fantastic food, buzzy atmosphere. Would highly highly recommend.
Nice steaks, good presentation of the meat board so you know what you're getting. Generally the wait staff were good but a smile was a miss a couple times.
Down sides, dirty toilets and wash rooms, food marks on my menu, knifes had fingerprints on them and the seating position in the restaurant wasn't good. Myself and a friend were knocked twice each during the evening. Glad I went as it's well known in London and it was my first visit but I won't be back. For the money, you can get a better experience elsewhere.
A lovely place with nice ambience. However we felt very rushed. We got our starters before we had even got a drink?!
Then our cocktails and wine arrived together!
Food was ok Fillet steak medium rare, was definitely more on the rare side. It all could have been hotter.
The food was excellent and the staff seemed genuinely interested in our happiness
I love the classy feel of this place, I definitely would return to try more dishes. The Ancho rib eye steak, with grilled prawns, tuffle butter mash potatoes was amazing. Everyone else love the Churrasco de lomo - spiral cut steak marinated in garlic, parsley and olive oil with Mac & cheese, spinach, chips etc.
The service was well-timed and friendly, the cocktails in gaucho is one of a kind, they didn’t have Strawberry daiquiri on the cocktail menu but my waiter advised me this can be made, honestly one of best I’ve tasted and affordable.
Excellent steak and excellent service. Very good value for money and a good buzz in the restaurant.
Gaucho has excellent steaks and a good service. It's on the pricey side and ambience is a bit too exclusive for me, but I enjoyed my dinner in there
Great restaurant and understandably expensive to meet the high quality of food and drink. Quite busy when we arrived half an hour early and bar was very crowded, but the table was available so we were OK to wait with a wine for our guest. Great to have a cloakroom for the coats an umbrellas! ambience was good and food was great. Perhaps a few more green vegetables would have been nice and no cauliflower cheese available anymore? Service was attentive and helpful with wine selection very professional.
This time the steaks were perfect. Very good service as well.
Buy it's annoying that every time we are on time for our reservation but they don't have a table to give us. We are always sent to wait at the bar but no free drinks are offered even though it's their fault!
So be prepared to wait!
We are from the festive set menu and it was great value for money. My friends had the ceviche and I wished I had too - it looked delicious. The fillet was steak was as good as usual. Overall, throughly recommend.
Great steaks, excellent service, staff very very good, super professional. We enjoyed our dinner very much!
Great service, staff were attentive and efficient. The venue is nice. We had ribeye steaks and they were somewhat disappointing. I have always enjoyed steak at Gauchos but this was below the normal standard
Me and my cousin decided to have a meal after work. So we booked a reservation at Gaucho’s. We initially ordered, scallops to start then 2 x 300g steaks and 5 sides to share. Half way through our meal, we ordered another 300g steak and an extra side of chips. The second order was far too salty so I think maybe a different chef?
Scallops were nice, I’m not a fan of seafood but my cousin thought it was great. In terms of steak our initial order was the chorizo sirloin and the spiral cut colita de lomo - they were absolutely beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the spiral cut. We then also had the ancho ribeye but that was far too salted. In fact the additional order of steak and chips was too salty all round. The sides we had were good. Nothing amazing but certainly complimented the meal. I’d recommend rocket and kale salad and the mashed potatoes. Oh and the chimichuri here is the bomb!
We had the set lunch that was delicious, the service was excellent and altogether it was an enjoyable experience.
Lovely brunch at Gaucho. Food was amazing and drinks were just as good. Service was spot on.
The space is buzzing on a Saturday night and the feel is quite cool. The table wasn’t ready and we had to make sure we would only be waiting for 15mins - it was let in the day and not great to wait when you carefully booked. The service was great and the waiter is very good. The problem was the starter, ceviche, which lacked flavour and was miles away from other restaurants. Equally disappointing was the first mojito we ordered. It lacked alcohol, with only ice being tasted. The second one was promptly corrected. Finally, the steak was spot on and very tasty. Overall, an hefty bill but must correct a few points
It was a rare date-night as our 7 yo was invited for a sleep over. The food was very good - i had the burger (amazing) and my partner had the steak (which she insisted was pretty good too). Not a lot of options on the drink - both of are gin-addicts. The service was excellent - Carlos was friendly and quick. It was crowded, but not very loud. Good experience overall.
Food very nice especially for a very reasonable price.
They should tell you that u have to pay for the water before they just pour it in the glass.
We were seated on the 2nd floor.
Music was so loud that our table of 4 could not talk or hear without shouting.
Toilets had no hot water, broken taps & were not clean & tidy.
Seating is so tightly packed that customer noise levels extremely loud....or were they too trying to talk over the DJ's noise.
3 of the 4 steaks fine, but 1 was simply tough - a marinated 500g cut, that ended up being taken home for the dog (dog wasn't quite so disappointed).
Gaucho seems to have lost some of its previous class and taste, yet retains prices that really should offer a more exclusive & considerate experience.
A long time patron and very disapointed.
