Impeccable Argentinian steaks, flavours of Latin America and a perfectly curated drinks list are all enjoyed in uncompromised elegance in the former home of a Spanish Ambassador.

Not been to Gauchos before, but it was a great visit. Food was excellent and service was very good. A bit pricey, but on the whole a great time.
Lovely atmosphere, helpful waiter even offering tap water which I thought was great. Had a voucher for free bubbly and was no problem. Roast dinner on Sunday was lovely and definitely worth the money.
As good as ever. Great to visit again
First class service , our waitress was superb. Great food and a great night out
This only the second time I have visited Gaucho and I was not disappointed. I had a 500g steak, I can't remember what was called, but it was fantastic. It was a lovely evening. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
We will definitely be back.
Was a lovely experience and the food was stunning! Only downfall was we had to wait 30 minutes for the bill and it therefore meant we missed our reservations at another place. Other than that would recommend!!!
Daughters 18th birthday meal
Very nice experience. Would definitely go back. Only complaint would be that there were a lot of very small flies around our table and drinks.
The starters were nice and hot which was good. But the steaks were barely warm and the chips on the top of the bowl were cold and the ones underneath were not much warmer. For these prices you expect as a bare minimum that the food is warm. Yes you need to rest a steak for tenderness etc but not so much that it is cold...
Expected more after been in the Gaucho in Leeds and been extremely impressed, however found service disappointing waiting half an hour to take a drinks order, and waiting 1hr 30 mins for our food to arrive, despite this the food was amazing overall service was slightly disappointing
A very nice evening in relaxed surroundings.
The food was good, but the table service at times was a little slow.
When we did get serviced however, the staff were professional and knowledgeable. I can only assume they were short staffed, as all establishments seem to be at the moment.
Very nice food and the best steak in London.
Can’t fault the food!! But on previous times at gauchos the dining experience was amazing this time I was disappointed with the service ordered a drink didn’t get it till I finished my meal. Just felt they rushed us through to get someone else in to use our table. Got charged £17 gratuity which I would have no issue with if the service was good but having to wait so long for a drink don’t think was acceptable.
Very helpful and friendly staff, the sauce order was wrong but a very minor detail as everything else was amazing, the food is definitely worth the price however the drinks I thought were quite over priced! Nearly £50 for two doubles!
We had a great birthday meal at the restaurant. We thought service might be slow due to staffing shortages but actually it was perfect. Good superb as always.
If I could give 6 stars I would!!
We knew the food would be fantastic (it always is) but what made the occasion was the flawless service from Manuel, our waiter. He was attentive, engaging, really helpful and knowledgeable. He also had a great sense of humour.
When we go back, I’ll be certainly looking out for him!
Thanks to all at Gauchos Piccadilly!
The food was amazing, the only thing that let the meal down was it was my boyfriends 21st birthday and I had stated in my booking I would like to have happy birthday written on a dessert or whatever the restaurant usually does for these events. I told a memeber of staff on arrival. Due to being with my boyfriend I couldn’t remind the waitress when she came over as I assumed telling the restaurant twice would be enough. I was so disappointed and could see his face as everyone around us was getting sung happy birthday too and receiving special birthday deserts. I will not be returning due to feeling just genuinely ignored. It was a special birthday aswell. So disappointed that the staff didn’t even acknowledge me.
I am a big fan of Gaucho and tend to go to the London Bridge for special events/occasions. My recent occasion felt very average rather than special.
I decided to go to Piccadilly on this occasion, and while the front of house were friendly and polite there was a disconnect within the team. I had sent an e-mail the previous day with 2x buyagift vouchers, this was acknowledged via e-mail but the front of hour had no record of these vouchers. I then spent time digging my e-mail, and also sharing it with the team. Finally my e-mail was found, and this was resolved.
Our server was lovely and addressed an issue where I had asked for chips without salt as all the chips came with salt.
Some of the items (steak, veg) felt overly salted, and will be asking in future for no salt to be added to any of the dishes.
There were a group of 3 of us, and while we love a Gaucho steak we felt the steaks were pretty average. It seemed like the grill may have been too hot as the outer parts of the steak seemed over cooked and a bit tough.
Everything was good apart from the steaks were very well done and not medium.
Very good food ! Got a complimentary glass of champagne as it was my partners birthday.
Unfortunately this was an awful experience. A quick snippet - Dirty glasses, which I cleaned the rim myself. I had ordered a neat Zacapa which came with ice and the dirty tall glass. Another incorrect drink order, an entire bottle of coke was knocked into our dinner by a waiter while he accidentally dropped a plate and spilt over my daughter. Her trousers were a mess. We cancelled our plans for after as we needed to go home and get changed and re book dinner elsewhere. The disturbing part of this was we ushered him away as he was embarrassed however he had smashed her glass and shards went in to our drinks and food, no one cleaned it up, nor did they communicate with each other to amend. I then had to ask for our table to be cleared as glass could be anywhere. I found shards on my daughters plate and on her lap. After this two of our steaks were cold which was sent back twice. My business partner had his taken away while he was eating as they had messed the other two so badly they needed re cooking. This tells me a lot of shortcuts are being taken. Steak should not be fridge temperature in the middle and cooked on the outside. We eat our steaks blue - your other restaurants accommodate this just fine. There was Mac and cheese and chips all over the carpet around our (reserved) table when we sat. No where to put coats which meant my fur fell off the chair multiple times into this dirty food from previous customers. This was my daughters 16th birthday and was booked especially as I expected you to be as wonderful as your other restaurant in Chancery Lane. The manager was very kind however it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had and I will never come back.
The Meat was Not Bad, Same with spinach, Mash Potato was Disgusting !
Someone really needs to go through menu who is familiar with a Standard Argentine
Steak Resturant, and sort out the menu, with a good Rustic Menu,
Chimichuri should always be given Free as a condiment, Sort out the Salads.
Argentinian Resturants always offer Salad ( Lettuce , Tomato, Onion ).
Maybe a nice touch of Warm rolls ( Free)
Simplify the Steak sizes, Just Standard and Large . Perfect the Frys.
Emapnandas : Ham& Cheese - Meat and Spinach&Cheese Nothing else.
Deserts were ok, Serve Icecrean and Call it Ducle De Letche !!!! not Caramel !
We went to the Picadilli location and the Decor was black like a tacky nightclub -
Make everything more Rustic, Wood - Brown leather seating, Blown cows hide !
you have the potential to make this awesome along with every other location - Copy this theme and you will not go wrong. I and a UK Citizen and I live in Buenos Aires
so I know What is What !!!
Really beautiful restaurant, the people who worked there were really nice. The food was delicious, im usually a picky eater but honestly Gaucho’s topped it!!🤩
Wonderful food, wonderful service a great experience
Came back after previously positive experiences. Food slightly on the cold side, but good and quick service.
We loved it, Amazing!
Amazing food - melt in the mouth steaks! Great service, nice decor and ambiance. My daughters loved the sustainability touches - like the straw made from avocado seeds or the background to where the steaks come from. My only criticism would be the state of the toilets - tiny cubicles and not recently cleaned. These things are important because they tell a customer whether you care or not. Overall, well worth a visit.
The toilets were revolting and the a lot of the sides weren’t available
Super reception and the Resturant had an excellent ambience. Service was incredibly slow for food and drinks. We had wanted dessert but couldn’t bear to wait any longer. The steak was not great although my wives Sunday roast was excellent!
1 x Steak meal was lovely
2 x steak roasts lovely although we were given rump steak (think they ran out of roast as our neighbour received different meat that was thinner, meal was still exceptional although could have been more generous with the gravy
1 x pumpkin gnocchi was good, lovely flavours although the meal could have been improved with some sauce
Service was excellent, well looked after, we will return :)
Very disappointed with this. Lots of things (our favourites) were not available on the menu - including the cocktail that we really wanted, several of the side dishes that we really like (Mac n Cheese, mashed potato, spinach), the wine that we wanted was not available (white Malbec). The service was really slow - we sat for 25 minutes before having to get up and go and find a waiter to take our drink order. Even just getting salt and pepper and some mustard after our meal arrived took ages and we had nearly finished our meals by the time it arrived. I noticed that they had a large party in the private dining room but this is not really an excuse. Wished we'd booked somewhere else no. The service was so slow, very unfriendly and we did not enjoy ourselves.
Had been recommended this steakhouse on a recent visit over from Ireland.
The restaurant decor was very nice and definitely created a lovely ambience.
A few issues with our meal:
•Had to ask for water 3 times when we were at restaurant.
•When served water, our bottle was warm (compared to other bottles on tables that you could see were ice cold) subsequently no ice in glass, which I thought would of been standard practice with a warm bottle
of water at least.
•When our food was served, everything was just lukewarm. Steak, sides & sauces. Leaving the impression that food was sitting on the pass for a few minutes.
•No check back on table to see how our mains were.
I have worked in hotels & restaurants all my life and the one thing you always do is ask the table how their main course is. Especially if your a Steakhouse in Piccadilly?!
When asked are we not paying the service charge, we were met with a disgusted look and snobbery!
My whole weekend in London, I gave tips/service charges to every waiter/waitress who gave us an enjoyable experience. But this occasion, it was an unforgettable experience.
Upon entrance we noticed two dogs sitting on customer restaurant seats which was not expected of such a high-end restaurant. We waited quite a while to order our drinks and then when we ordered our food the food came however the waiter checked and our food almost immediately after putting it on the table not giving us chance to fully give our opinion on the meal. Our steaks were overcooked and massively chargrilled when we finished our food mate and my partner both left at least half of our steak each and I had to call a member of staff over to even clear our table. When she came over my partner politely requested that the state was overcooked and her response was “ you should’ve just said and we would’ve cooked you a new one at the start“ her tone of voice was condescending and upsetting considering this was a New Year’s Day celebration meal and our first time in gauchos. My partner is severely allergic to dogs and with his eye swelling we had to pay the bill rapidly and leave the restaurant to prevent an anaphylactic shock. I’d like to hear your feedback to advise whether you think the service that we received was acceptable and also if it’s normal for a high-end steakhouse in the centre of London to allow pet dogs to roam on customer seats and lapse whilst also your staff providing dog bowls on the floor
It was an all round great experience, food was great, brilliant service only downside it was very quiet but that’s not the restaurant fault we live in strange times
We were there for New Year’s Eve. The DJ hardly played any music and for some reason stopped for about 10 minutes as it hit 00:00. The food took ages to arrive. The bread we ordered arrived after our main. The chips were so cold and over cooked. The mushrooms were like rubber, harder to cut than the steak. Overall everything lacked flavour, the peppercorn sauce was our best attempt to save the night.
The food was absolutely fine although you don’t get the original selection of dreads as you used to unless you pay £5.
Only criticism the air conditioning was on and we were blasted with cold air most of the night.
Food was beautiful but very small cramped restaurant which impacted on the atmosphere
The music was very loud for a restaurant. Politeness of staff very good especially considering how busy it was.
Limited Gluten free options for starter or dessert.
The starter and steaks were excellent but the chips were burned beyond less than acceptable. We had wrongly assumed that this is how they prepare their chips so didn’t complain at the time. They left a very strong bitter taste in your mouth which overpowered the meal and stayed with you for the remainder of the evening. After finishing our meal we saw others served with non burned chips which begs the question how did they get through the kitchen and then past waiting staff.
We’ll be sticking with the tried and tested Hawksmoor in future.
Everything was amazing and thank to alex for service
We ordered beef but it was tough
