The whole restaurant seemed unorganised from the moment we got there. We were asked to go to the top floor where someone would meet us, we got there and stood as staff rushed past without any acknowledgement.

We were sat at a table that was about the size of a postage stamp, which I knew straight off the bat wouldn’t be big enough for all of the food.

I was approached at the table by what I can only assume was a manager (suit on) he muttered a couple of words to me then was distracted and disappeared, never to return to finish whatever conversation he started.

The main arrived (chateaubriand) - the waitress soon realised that there wasn’t enough space on the table and asked if we wanted to put the steak straight onto our plates, very rushed.

The sides - awful.

The green beans had no garlic, in-fact no flavour at all.
The chips has no seasoning and definitely no thyme salt
The truffle mac and cheese (which they forgot) certainly had no truffle.

All in all a poor experience.

Food was fairly good, but cons included: table was far too small to eat comfortably, it was very noisy to the point you could not hear the other person opposite you (rather important when you are on a date!), average service (I had booked the Xmas menu and was expecting someone to walk us through the games, but no one came. Also long waiting time to ask for basic things like more wine/cutlery/the bill. It felt too busy and did not feel like we had an assigned waiter). Overall, average experience but won't be jumping to visit anytime soon.

Exceptional excellent customer service all the way. Food is delicious.
If I may just say, whilst the ladies at the ground floor reception are lovely, they do not meet the excellent service from the restaurant waiters themselves. They are the first face on the ground floor, lovely but not the best welcome or fairwell you'd expect, moreover when restaurant staff themself exceed expectation.

Have really enjoyed Gaucho in the past but lunch there on Friday didn’t live up to expectations. We ate upstairs, the blinds were down so no natural daylight, the music was loud, the staff didn’t wear masks. Delicious steak (rump with bearnaise sauce) but very expensive wine (Malbec, house red), with a hefty bill at the end!

Really poor - terrible food (cold), terrible service. Table not cleared for ages after we’d finished eating. Salt in little packets. Had to ask for cutlery and water four times before it arrived. Incredibly hard to catch waitresses eye to order more wine. No sense this was a place that cared if you had a good experience.

The steaks were good but I have had better. Our waitress was very nice and knew her wines but the other servers were not so attentive and placed our starters in the wrong place and it wasn’t know until my son cut open his empanadas. Tables were very close together and it was very dark.
We have been to other Gaucho’s which we think were better.

Great food. Chicken was great (for non red meat eaters) and of course steaks too. Only 2 scallops per starter portion @ £16.50 a pop a bit pricy but tasty. Service was slow and we got the wrong steaks BUT these guys (Ryan from Glasgow and a Turkish gent who’s name escapes me) certainly made up for it. Kudos!!

I’ve been to this Gaucho before and it was great. However, I ordered exactly the same meal this visit and it was just not the same quality - steak was lumpy, they were out of peppercorn sauce and a ‘glass’ of wine arrived as a third of a glass rather than the requisite amount. That was after the server wasted a bottle by dropping it all over the floor by our table (although recognise accidents happen). Add to that, the servers didn’t know which sauce was which when they delivered food to our table and we had to taste test them ourselves to find out which sauce belonged to which person. We ordered whipped ice cream and rum for dessert although it tasted exclusively of rum and was kindly taken off our bill at the end. Do love Gaucho but this visit was inconsistent with previous experiences and did not quite live up to their usual standard.

I've always loved Gaucho in the past and have some fond memories of dinners here. However, this one visit was more than disappointing, and frankly a little embarrassing for the brand.

I had taken my girlfriend last night for a special event, and as her favorite cocktail is a lychee martini, I'd enquired with the booking if this might be possible for them to prepare. I received no reply, but when we arrived the waiter announced loudly in front of us and the other tables "We are sorry but we don't do lychee martinis." Disappointing but okay fair enough, though maybe you could have told me in advance rather than embarrassing her? Otherwise the waiter was fantastic.

I then ordered a dirty martini, my favorite drink with steak. The waiter came back five minutes later. "I'm very sorry sir but we're out of olives. Can I get you something else?" I got a martini without olives and they added a slice of lemon. Fine.

Finally we were ready to order and we each got the Chorizo steaks, which ended up being delicious. However we both had been eagerly anticipating the steak with peppercorn sauce. "I'm sorry, sir, but I regret to tell you we are out of peppercorn sauce." This was the only sauce my date was truly excited for but okay, we settled on the bernaise and blue cheese sauces.

When it came time for dessert, my girlfriend wanted a chai tea latte, and the waiter came back after five minutes, of course saying: "I'm very sorry, but we're out of chai tea."

I usually am very supportive of the difficulties of managing a restaurant, but what the hell Gaucho? How can one of the most popular restaurants in London be out of so many things on a slow Tuesday night? I hope you understand that it's going to be rather difficult to get excited about coming back after this experience.

The most amazing steak ever! Service at the table was excellent & we definitely would love to come back. Drink selection was great too. Only small critique was the host services, they appeared to be arguing in front of customers, however, this was then topped off by the food and table service.

Steaks were superb but all very rushed - starters arrived before the wine or breads and then we had no sooner commenced our starters than the mains arrived & had to be taken back. It looked like they had been under a lamp while we finished as they were rushed out but chips were totally inedible and steaks slightly overdone (although still excellent meat). Finished with a sticky toffee pudding that had only a dribble of sauce on it & was so dry we needed extra water to swallow it! This was a special occasion so a real shame they couldn’t deliver as we have had some excellent meals in the past. Hopefully it was a one off on a bad night!

Very poor, firstly our guests had already arrived but we were sent to the wrong floor and were left waiting for 10 minutes before we finally taken to our guests. We booked a booth online but the message hadn’t got through to the staff so we were sat at a table with a cold draft from the outside. The toilets were more like a nightclub with poor decor. The staff were there but didn’t want to be. Overall very poor and wouldn’t go again.

What a disappointing experience for a Birthday celebration. Arrived and were seated, offered some water. No one of nothing arrived at our table for 20 mins (we were sat downstairs and it was not busy!). We placed our order to be told that 2 of the 3 items on the menu were no longer available and wouldn’t be for a few hours. I understand things happen, but surely you would explain this at the time of searing, therefore giving us an option to go elsewhere (which in itself would be disappointing as we booked this weeks ago). The Duty Manager came to see us and had no real answer for us, when I suggested that she should perhaps call those joining their tables later. She stormed through the door.

I wouldn’t mind, this was a Birthday treat. We had recalled over an hour to get here.

Whilst they managed to accommodate one of our parties needs and didn’t charge us for it (it ended up being a plate of vegetables). The experience was ruined.

Service was absolutely terrible, I’ve been to guacho loads of times but this has made me think twice about rebooking. The steak was great thankfully but the sides where terrible. The drinks where ok once they came eventually. But genuinely when you say excuse me to a waiter and he puts his hand in your face and walks past without even saying hold on a moment then comes back and asks what do you want waving his hands it’s not the best service.

I had never been to Gauchos before and took a friend for her birthday (she loves stake). We had to wait in a queue for 25 mins outside for our booking and nobody informed us why or when we’d be able
To take our seats. Really poorly organised. Then some VIP guests pushed me against the wall and went inside and the security guard upon seeing this just told me to get out of the way. When we were seated we waited for another 20 mins before we were served so it was a horrendous start. After we got our turn it was nice, our waiter was really nice and polite and the stake was really good but the only fish dish was mediocre on the menu. I would go again but hoping service is better.

We waited half an hour to be seated. Lots more people complaining about waiting so long. Bouncers on the door acting like it was a cheap night club.
The starter was very nice..the burrata
The steak was very average and definitely didn’t warrant the price. Very little flavour and very fatty
First time in Gauchos and a huge disappointment

We came here as it was recommended by so many.

The restaurant was over crowded and staff was running all over the place rushed off their feet.

We sat down and was poured room temperature water into our glasses (which later on cost £5 on the bill)

The menu is great if you want an expensive steak but no many other options.

The peppercorn sauce was like water and the portion size of chips and the staters were appalling considering the price!

We had to wait a long time for our food and our bill.

When we first arrived, the woman greeting us wasn't very kind or welcoming. She looked stressed and I felt like I was an inconvenience telling her we had arrived for our reservation. When we went to the first floor to be seated, I found the men who were greeting us and the servers to be very kind and professional. They also accommodated us when I told them it was my husbands birthday. The food was good and the atmosphere was lovely. We would come back!
