Steaks as good as ever, service could have been a little better ... staff seems to disappear after our main course was served - might have been a shift change but certainly a ball dropped! Wine waiter a little too eager to sell the wine of the day.
Visited on Sunday for lunch. Wonderful food, helpful staff.
Solid steak. Starter not particularly memorable.
Nice buzzy atmosphere.
A bit slow to seat us and reception not as smooth as it could be.
Great service. Food was spot on but was very noisy. We sat top floor
A great location and food . Everybody was very helpful .
Would recommend a visit if you like a great Steak.
Always lovely food, but particularly great this time as we tried new things and they didn’t disappoint
Extremely disappointed, sides were terrible..Potatoes were like Smash, chips were hard seemed like reheated, £5 for a mushroom that was cut into 3 pieces..We knew it was expensive before we booked so expected a top quality meal, not the case at all. The best part of the meal was the bread we had whilst waiting for our mains!
Definitely will come back...
Exceptional experience. The flavours of each dish, the steak in particular, is unrivalled by any other restaurant I've been to. Flawless.
Ordered a 400g steak medium rare, waiter kept trying to sell us lobster even though we’d said no several times. Steak came over done and ends burnt l, awful especially for a £40 steak. My partner also has steak that was burnt and over cooked. Table next to us sent lobster back as it stunk and they said it was off. For a restaurant that claims to be a steak one, they couldn’t even cook it correctly. Never return and very over priced.
Came for a friend’s birthday & was very impressed. The ambiance was chill. The food was out of this world delicious (i highly recommend the mac & cheese!). Although it is a bit expensive, the value & quality are worth it.
We had a really lovely lunch. We sat outside as it was a lovely day so maybe not as "glam" as inside. The steak as always was melt in the mouth. Great service as well.
Lovely atmosphere and food. Our waitress Alexandra was excellent. She made it really special.
Food was lovely. Sides are expensive, but we’re tasty. Bread starter was lovely.
Very average. My son enjoyed his steak. The burger was very unimpressive. Dreadful music
If they could turn the back ground music down a wee bit it would help
Lunch with friends. Excellent steak and chips, great atmosphere and helpful, friendly server.
Celebrating girlfriends birthday, the service was really good
Prices have gone up since my last visit but quality of food has gone down.
The chips were over cooked and hard. Bread was served with normal butter rather than garlic one. Steak price went up to almost £30 for 300gr.
Vegan options are a joke .
Burger for £17 for size smaller than McDonald's.
Not what I remember of Goucho
Great service. Steak was good as always. Lovely ambience. Busy for a Sunday so nice atmosphere. Their house Malbec is great.
I had an amazing dinner, staff was very friendly and attentive, would definitely recommend
The service from Giacomo was excellent - he was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Our slight disappointment came with some elements of the food: whilst the starters were impeccable, as were our steaks, the chips didn’t fill the bowl and the green beans were undercooked (not even at al dente stage). Additionally, my steak hadn’t been properly rested- there was quite a bit of resting blood on my plate. But it was otherwise perfect. We were warned to be careful of our pudding because it was hot, but it was, at best, lukewarm. Not what you want for a £15 tarte tatin! Having said that, it was delicious! All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would come again, despite the slight imperfections.
Waited over an hour and 15 mins to receive food and waitress was rude / argumentative when we raised this politely
We went to celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary. The waiter who served us was lovely and offered us a glass of champagne to celebrate which we thought was a nice touch. Although the food was nice for us we do feel we had a better experience at Gaucho in Manchester.
It was warm and the white vinyl seats left white marks on my pants after getting up from the meal. It was very noisy and hard to have a conversation. But the food and service was excellent!
A change of menu, food presentation and lighting was all a disappointment for our first time back in a place we loved. Questions our booking for next month now however the food itself was delicious and the staff were amazing.
The steak was delish, wasnt a fan of the mac and cheese
Unreal service, food and atmosphere. Didn’t rate them adding a £22 gratuity on my behalf though. Would recommend nonetheless
Poor to be honest. Gaucho is normally a girly high standard but by any standards, Luke warm food, no atmosphere and indifferent staff made this an extremely poor return for a restaurant that is relatively expensive as well.
Had a lovely evening, food was great, staff were very attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
Really good experience, fantastic good and brilliant service, disappointing that although it was clear other diners knew of the option, we were charged for a bottle of water when a carafe of tap water was an option we weren't offered.
Very enjoyable meal, we ate at 2 o’clock and the service was a little erratic at times as I assume they had a very busy lunch. Overall a very nice experience though.
We were spoken to only 3 times. When we sat down, to order food and drink, and when I had to ask for the bill. In a London steak restaurant you would expect to want for nothing and for the service to be spotless. On this occasion not only were we barely spoken to, nobody checked at any point in the evening if our food was nice. The mashed potatoes tasted like laughing cow soft cheese and my steak was undercooked. Nobody asked at any point. We mentioned when we received the bill that the service was poor and we never ordered a bottle of mineral water which we had been charged for. The manager said ‘I’m sorry let me take the water off’ and then made an excuse that there were plenty of staff yet the service was poor, which made little sense to us. The fact that we had such a negative experience on our anniversary and all the manager could muster was a refunded bottle of wine and a poor attempt at an apology was the icing on the cake. So I paid the £100+ bill and left promptly. To say this ruined our evening would be an understatement.
It all went well until I realised after leaving that we had been overcharged by the addition of a Bottle of Hildon water £5 plus service of 12.5%, we specifically had asked for tap water and were served same ! It took a week to get a response with the Manager insisting on ringing me to refund on the card used which I did not have with me! Shabby tactic.
Great table on the terrace and great food! Steak cooked to perfection.
Lovely space in central london. Steak done to perfection as usual!
Service was just excellent food was just so nice, no words to describe the cheesecake just delicious the meat was just cooked to perfection
Came in to have a Classic Burger meal. I was told there was no burger and ended having to have just fries.
Just to then find out when I was paying the bill that they actually had the burger but just didn't have the buns. I feel I could have been told that when they took my order as I would have been more than happy to have that with my fries.
Frustrating they still felt the need to charge Gratuity at 12.5% of the bill.
Not impressed at all.
The ladies did seem to take the "smart casual" dress code a lot nearer the "smart" than the men - I suppose it averaged out.
Well prepared food, good portion size, nicely presented, flavoursome. We had a good time
