Had a great dinner at Gaucho, as always. The steaks are delicious and cooked to perfection, the sides are creative and lovely (mushrooms, fries, mac’n’cheese to mention a few). Would also recommend empanadas to start or a garlic bread as a bite. Cocktails are lovely.
The vibe is cool of a trendy busy central London place.
Would definitely recommend for a chilled out romantic evening.
A Couple of points here
1. Limited number of wines and most were not available
2. Steaks were served almost cold which was not enjoyable.
Bloody uncomfortable seats
Steak was amazing.
Service was ok.
Front of house staff require training and development on how not to look down on people.
Female toilets on the ground floor were disgusting.
Unfortunately the meat was overcooked, and overpriced.
The server Christopher was really kind and helpful.
Great location and really good steak! Would definitely recommend
Ordered the ChateauBriand steak (450g) was given 350g at most. Ordered rare was overcooked
Really lovely food - been a few times now and it just don't disappoint. Happy dinner
Always wanted to experience Gaucho and now I have its an experience I won't forget.
Excellent food, service and overall dining experience. Well worth the price.
Disappointed that I made a note on the booking that we was there for two birthdays father & daughter and nothing was done for them. One of the steaks was full of fat too so wasn’t enjoyable to eat.
There is no class to the restaurant everyone was wearing trainers and tracksuits i understand because of covid you need to make money but this is crazy if i was offered a full refund i was gladly take it
Filet de lomo was served cold
Service is less better than in the past. Ages for order to be taken
Humitas have been taking out from the menu which is sad because famous side meals at Gaucho
Prior to this experience I have always found Goucho a first class dining establishment but unfortunately my experience last night was quite the opposite.
Decided to come to the flagship restaurant to celebrate a birthday and wish I had gone elsewhere.
There was no ambiance, the lighting was bright, seating was like an office desk chair. Quality of service was vary poor - and they still added service charge.
Steak was incredible however everything else was such a let down to previous experience. The chips were over cooked and crunchy, oyster mushroom was simply 2 slices of cold mushroom with diced onions. The 'mash' wasn't even potato!
I felt severely let down for the experience. To be honest I feel that even if I was to make a complaint it would not have been listened too. Staff avoided eye contact and was rude on arrival. The quality and intimacy of pervious experiences was not there at all
Wonderful food and service for my husband’s 40th birthday. Mary, our waitress was brilliant and couldn’t have been more helpful. Lovely evening!
Impeccable food, wine and service. Perfect place for my birthday meal and couldn’t be happier! The waitress even put a birthday candle in my dessert. Can’t wait to come back next time we are in London.
Only disappointment was the staff rushing us out the door even after paying a significant amount of money at Gaucho. It left a bad taste in our mouths after a great evening.
Another amazing meal, my son's first time there and says it is the best steak he has ever eaten!
Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, can't recommend enough!
Sat outside, habe been a couple times now. In my opinion the best steak in London and worth every cent. Drinks are overpriced though
Absolute last time we ever waste our time or money in Gauchp. 8 years ago it really was a great steak restaurant with friendly staff and great food. Sadly now it’s understaffed, you wait 30 minutes for your first drink, get given your vegetables once you’ve eaten your main course and are served warm fizz. I understand there’s a shortage in employees in this industry but Gaucho should manage how many bookings they accept instead of squashing them in like sardines. We had a table barely big enough for 2 with 4 of us squashed around it and other guests practically sat back to back. It’s all about the money here sadly.
Lovely restaurant however forgot items on order and then presented cold chips
Chips were replaced but had eaten burger by then
Steak salad was ok steak was lovely well cooked salad was a bit poor in quantity and variety it was more just a few bits thrown on a plate as a starter it would have been exceptional as a main and quite costly it was poor
Ordered the set menu for London Restaurant Festival and was disappointed with the choices. For some reason you couldn't see the menu in advance on Gauchos or OpenTable website so we took a gamble and unfortunately it didn't pay off!
One of our group is gluten free and this really limited their options. Only one starter was GF (raw seabass) which isn't to everyone's taste and none of the desserts were GF which is just odd. (We got offered some lemon sorbet instead). The main course steaks were good (as you'd expect/hope) but that's not enough to make up for everything else.
Given how many staff seem to be walking around the restaurant it did seem quite slow - took nearly 2 hours for a 3 course set menu. It came across that because we were on the 'cheap' menu that staff didn't seem to care much!
Only one toilet cubicle open in the women's toilet for a restaurant of that size too meant a considerable queue all night.
Don't think I'll be rushing back!
Busy which made quick service a challenge for the staff, but the food was very tasty and there is a great ambience.
Fantastic quality steak and wine, always amazing service. The waiters are so knowledgeable in the wines to help you decide. Not cheap but worth it for a treat.
had a great waiter, great food & great service.
only problem I had was that the cocktails we had ordered for our table tasted extremely watered down. waiter tried to sort this with a free round for the table yet they tasted exactly the same. other than that though it was fantastic. good way to celebrate my bday with friends
Good food and service. Steaks are large go for the smallest size. There was a crack on a plate and a delay on food, complimentary drinks were given without even asking. Birthday drinks and plate brought out for my partners birthday on request.
Toilets need improvement, but otherwise lovely ambience and venue.
A long Friday lunch with work colleagues. We were left to ourselves but servers there when we needed it. Food was good and good value cwine on the pricey side
Lovely varied FT Lunch offer four course special menu (available to end October) and great service by our waiter. We even persuaded some people who arrived at the next table just before we left to enjoy the menu too.
Our welcome was spoilt by the receptionist continually coughing and when we came to have to leave it took a little too long for the card machine to be brought to us.
Atmosphere is good but steak is always second rate compared to Hawksmoor. Simply lacks flavour. Desert was very good.
Was very loud, service was good food was small portions
Good afternoon Eds19, On behalf of the restaurant and relevant staff involved, I do apologies that your experience wasn’t to the standard we are renowned for. Thank you for your review and providing us with feedback for us to use constructively and move forward as a business. We do hope to see you again. Many thanks, Piccadilly Management
Great Steak and super Malbec. The Mac and Cheese is also very tasty as a side.
400g rib eye cooked medium hits the spot.
Not really good value for money, overrated.
Service was great, waiter was very friendly and gave great recommandations.
The ceviche was straight out from the fridge, already plated I believe. Quite tasteless.
Hostess was not very welcoming.
Very good food , service was also good , but as they were extremely busy was a bit slow between courses , I would definitely recommend this place as you guaranteed to have a good quality food , from starters to deserts and wines .
Great restaurant with fantastic service even though it was extremely busy
Excellent food, and excellent service all round.
Unfortunately - a disappointing visit. Booked a table for 845pm and didn't get seated until 915 or fed until 1015pm.
The actual waiter service was great! Food was average - no steak knives which meant the evening was spent carving at a steak with a butter knife - peppercorn sauce was like gravy with peppercorns in it.
With the price of the meal - I'd expect a lot more.
4 of us went for a friends birthday and everything was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you
Hello, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a 5-star rating. We are very happy that you thoroughly enjoyed your experience with us on your friend's birthday. We look forward to your next visit. See you soon Many thanks Gaucho Piccadilly Team
Quite noisy to start as sat next to a group of noisy lads but they soon left , food was amazing, steak cooked as asked juicy and delicious, lovely treat for my daughters birthday , thank you , toilets on top floor a bit tatty and although cleaners were in it was smelly, before dinner we were sat in the bar for drinks it was very busy and the staff were lovely although another tables moaned they were not being served , perhaps because they were already drunk and being rude , overall a lovely birthday treat fir my daughter and would go again
We ordered the chateaubriand medium and it arrived very well done… Service was very average and we had to ask multiple times for our sides to be served
Food was good, would go again
