Best steak ever. Surprisingly kid friendly. Service impeccable.
Served by Anthony who was a very good host and had great knowledge on the Wines and cuts of meat. Location outside looking over the river is fantastic
Great service and lovely wine. However the steak was over seasoned with salt so completely took over any taste. The sides were ok, but pretty average considering...

Great food and ambiance! I’ve been there many times and I always recommend Gaucho for friends.
Restaurant feels tired and unloved, Sirloin steak was very disappointing , half of it was inedible as too tough to cut! A great shame as Gaucho richmond and the Sloane avenue branch used to be fantastic!
An excellent evening with top class service and incredible food. The best steak I’ve ever had-amazing.
Food was of high quality as usual and service from waitress was excellent.
Great food, wine, service and overall atmosphere. The wait staff is very attentive and professional.
Absolute fan of Gauchos steaks and fine wine however, a few people on our table ordered the lamb chops and they were terribly fatty. The manager offered us another option which was great. The service was pretty slow, but other than that the chateauxbriand was amazing and the thin chips were delish!
Lovely staff who are attentive and very educated on the menu, with a genuine interest in making the meal and experience a pleasant one. Highly recommend, especially with a surprise birthday plate of chocolate truffles thrown in.
Both the chorizo and rump steak were cold when they arrived. My girlfriend and I had ordered similar mains, which were mixed up when they were brought out, and when served to us the waitress didn't inform us which was which.
The flavour of the food was exceptional, however, due to the temperature of the food it was only moderately enjoyable.
This was my first time at this particular Gaucho, and i would be hesitant to return as the restaurant was not even particularly busy, so its hard to understand why the food was served cold.
Gauchos is my son's favourite restaurant. I was disappointed to find out they had stopped doing roast dinner on a Sunday. Neither the less the food was lovely apart from the undercooked chicken. Problem was they charged us for the chicken, charged the larger steak cut than my dad had ordered and charged for an adults dessert (for my son's birthday!) Rather than off the children's menu. It was resolved without any fuss but was a little disappointed with all the issues. Wouldn't stop us coming back....ill just be sure to make sure I always check the bill first!
Great place, food, service and location...would recommend to anyone that loves steak
Had a lovely evening! Food was amazing.
Bar man made me a special request cocktail was just perfect
This was my first visit to the restaurant and I had high expectations based on the menu vs cost. But the restaurant is really all about location. For the cost per person, I'd have expected food and service to be pretty good. Firstly, I made a note on the booking online regarding where I would like the table to be reserved. At arrival, I was asked where I would like to seat as if my booking hadn't been taken into account in advance. Service was slow although the people were very polite. Waited a while and had to ask someone to find the person who we were told was allocated to us.
Food wasn't great either. Asked for a well done meat (since I am pregnant) and still had raw meat in the middle. One friend ordered blue cheese sauce and was served something else. We had to ask to change. The overall plate didn't look exciting. I had a lot of salad leaves and few artichoke bits. Could barely taste the artichokes. I understand this restaurant should be all about the meat but then, the meat has to be perfect to justify the cost. Wouldn't rush back. It's a shame because location wise, it is great. Specially for the beautiful Sunny days we are having.
Outstanding meat, great service and good selection of Argentinian wines
First time at Gaucho and the service and food was fantastic. Ivan was our waiter, and provided great service. He was very friendly and helpful with all aspects of the meal service. Food was perfect and the drinks were perfect. Will definitely returning again soon.
I have been with my wife for our anniversary and we enjoy every minute of the dinner.
The staff was nice and kind all the time! They explained us the different type of meat that they have and the different wine that we can have with!
Also, without asking, when we order the dessert they had "Happy Anniversary" written with chocolate. it was simple but much appreciated!
It is a little expensive but it is worth the quality of the food and the staff!!!
The dinner was wonderful as usual with our steaks cooked to perfection and nice wine pairing. I met the “new” manager Natália stopped by the table to chat and was very engaging. I do have one small issue - you ran out of Dona Paula wine which is my favorite! Great time.
I love Gaucho, they do a great steak! However, we've been to Gaucho richmond twice in the last month and both times the steaks have been served to us barely luke warm, we've had them served with truffle butter and the butter has sat on top not even melting. The first time we sent it all back and had it recooked which was no issue with the staff at all and they apologised profusely, this time we asked to have the chef not start cooking our mains until we had finished with our starters so that we could have a break in the middle and the food would arrive straight from cooking however the same thing happened. The second time we didn't want to complain again. I understand that the steaks need to rest after cooking however when you can touch it and it's barely warm it seems abit much, quite disappointing when you're paying a premium price. Cannot however fault the service, we loved our waiter!
Stunning restaurant with beautiful views. Staff excellent and food to match.
From the minute we walked in, to the moment me & my partner left the restaurant we experienced the best service. Staff were so polite and so accommodating. Food was beautiful and service was impeccable.
Wonderful meal and service which is very consistent! We really appreciate the atmosphere and the service of the entire team. The Donna Paula wine is amazing, The steaks are cooked to perfection and perfectly served hot to the table. Love this place...
Let's get one thing straight, the steak is amazing. I have had better, but rarely (no pun intended). It's a lovely setting, we had a choice of eating inside or out, and it's comfortable and quiet. But it's not perfect.
Firstly, the service was quite slow, and very slow at the beginning. We had not ordered after sitting for about 35 minutes. The waiter was very apologetic, but it was still poor for such an upscale restaurant.
Secondly, choose where you sit wisely. We had the best view by the tow path but after about 30 minutes in the evening it got so dark, it was hard to see the food. The candle on the table was not close to adequate and kept blowing out in the mildest of breezes. And there is basically not other light. Yes, we could have chosen a better location, and this is not a fault of the restaurant, but consider it a hint for future diners.
Generally, the food was great and I would recommend it.
Excellent meal and wine! The staff were very friendly and attentive and we really liked the atmosphere.
Birthday meal. Restaurant was lovely. Waiter Rob was a great host.
Good restaurant, a bit pricey for a piece of meat, must buy side orders to acompany the mean meal. Great service though, we enjoyed the meal as we did the setting.
Will I come back?, not sure, there are better meat places in London at a better value for money.
Gaucho Richmond is one of the best finds in my opinion. Apart from the lovely steaks and many vegetarian options they also have fish on the menu.
You are right on the river bank and can see Richmond Hill as well as views of Twickenham. Just absolutely fantastic views and dining both inside and outside.
There is a speacial lunch menus for those weekends when all you want is a leisurely walk followed by a hearty lunch.
Looking at the service, it’s really good, you always get the feeling that you are well looked after, and you get great advice about the choosing the right stake and the different variety and cuts. It’s a true service with a smile.
Overall one of my favourite places.
Lovely location. Staff are excellent and very attentive though not overly so. Our waitress Maria was lovely. The food was lovely however eating it outside which was brilliant meant it did not keep warm for very long which was the only down side.
This was an amazing meal and experience! The Argentinian beef was supple, delicious and mouth-watering! This is a great place with exceptional service and customer centricity.
The waiter was poor cane over with the tray of meat handled all the meat and then didn’t wash his hands and proceeded to serve people there food. The crab starter was a joke. The steaks where of a poor quality and to top it of I had to ask for 2 steaks knifes in a steak restaurant very poor overall experience
Excellent food, real quality but remains too expensive to indulge in too often.
Despite the recent financial challenges faced by Gaucho, the food quality and service remain excellent. The wine and food menus have changed (surprised there was no Catene on the list) but this did affect our evening as they still have the quality steak and wine we have come to expect from Gaucho. The bar is also a great place for before and after dinner drinks.
Amazing place would go again any time any day definitely worth the price
We had the lunch menu which was incredibly value with three courses for only £27.50. I don’t eat meat only fish but I had lots of options. They provided gf advice and gf bread willingly. The service was prompt and the food delicious. A great spot for lunch by the river - would highly recommend.
Main course took over. 1 hour to arrive as our dishes were. Given to another customer. When the food did arrive the order was wrong. We were ignored by the waiter who new little about the wine or the charcuterie plate. The
I've been quite a few times to this restaurant overall it's amazing, last Friday was a bit average compared to previous experiences but staff still exceptionally professional.
We came at a busy time and had to wait some time. During this they mixed up our drinks, but once we said at our main table all was good. The principle of the restaurant, with its display board of meat cuts will make the meat lover's heart jump for joy. The staff are very knowledgeable, and the ambience us great. The star of the experience is, quite rightly, the meat. That filet, amazingly tender and marinated to excellent taste, will be be a memory on my palate for quite some time.
Great place to meat!
Celebrated our anniversary here, service was excellent as always not to mention the food and beautiful views!
The steak was very good. However, The time it took for food to arrive (an hour and a half for two people dining) was not acceptable. The cauliflower cheese sharing side was extremely disappointing, especially for £10 - it was literally just cauliflower topped with a sprinkling of cheese. At the end of the meal we asked to see the dessert menu but after 15 mins of waiting we decided to get the bill and leave. Whilst the steak itself was very good, the whole experience was not up to the standards we were expecting, especially considering how expensive this was.
