You can always guarantee the perfect steak at a Gauchos restaurant and this time didn't disappoint. The service was also spot on.
Chav City! So much makeup on many guests and seating host, we almost slid to our seats. Unnecessary bouncer on door to try to make the place look more important than it is. Steak good but sides dubious and condiments cheap and 1970’s.
Great food, great host. Everything was great, would defo recommend.
A little overpriced but I guess you're paying for the ambience and services .The lettuce salad was not worth the money.
Perfect! Food excellent !
Attentive service from entrance to departure. Great friendly staff. Amazing steaks.
Good ambiance - not over powering.
All round excellent meal.
Disappointed by the service and standard of food.
Check the definitions of how they cook their steaks. Medium rare to them means cooked through but still juicy, whereas commonly its rare in thd middle, hence the medium rare part!
Great service, amazing steaks and the new Mac & cheese is to die for.Our waitress Daniela was amazing and super friendly.Would highly recommend the Sloane Avenue branch as they are very professional.
It was a perfect start to the evening.
Our waiter Andrei was nothing short of excellent, providing first class service as well as having a great knowledge of the menu and providing great advice on what cut of steak we should have.
Excellent night, staff and food, we will be returning again very soon!
It has been overall a disappointing experience.
I would not recommend it at all.
Meat was amazing but the sides were abit dull. The spinach was just really spinach not much flavour same with the mass and for £5 per side and we had 4 we would expect something a little bit more flavoursome and tasty.
Steak filet was amazing and the chips were ok and the sauce was good however the steak was a bit cold. Presentation could have been a bit better it wasn’t super instragrammable. Service was really good though
A lovely Anniversary meal with my wife, everything was perfect
Booked for 7.45pm. Took 30 minutes to place order which didn’t come till 9pm.
Family lunch, really good food and service! Kids enjoyed it!
I have been a big fan of Gaucho for many years.
Sadly on this occasion I was a little disappointed.
I feel the restaurant was too busy and guests were allowed to congregate in the reception area and along the bar instead of being ushered into the main bar which was empty. Because of this I feel the tables were under serviced and it would have been nice for the “usual” display of cuts to be shown to us to help us know what to order. When bringing new friends here it’s part of the experience.
On the plus side, the steaks we had were cooked wonderfully but overall, an average meal.
Had a wonderful meal for my birthday! The food was fantastic, and our waiter was very friendly and attentive, unfortunately I cannot remember his name but he said he was helping there for the night from another restaurant. He helped to recommended a very tasty cocktail. I loved my birthday plate I got at the end of the meal.
My only criticism (I work in hospitality myself) was that one lady had her very long hair not tied back. I think she was a host, however she was dealing with takeaway orders.
Food was amazing, literally mouth watering. The sides and sauces went so well with the steak. The experience was made so much better by our waiter Antonio, fantastic guy. Would definitely go again.
On Saturday afternoon, many options on the menu no available (beef Empanadas, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes)
Asked for medium for the cooking of our meet. Came well done.
Service is pushy: you order a rump or ribeye and the waiter suggest why not go for the chateaubriand, like the most expensive one on the menu. If I want to go for the most expensive I don’t need it to be recommended. Same for serving water always filling up already full glasses.
Quality of the rump and lomo quite average for a meat place.
Hawksmoor is definitely more value for money, service and atmosphere are better
Excellent service and appropriate decor for a high end steak house.
Good steak but too pricey. There are better places in London where to have a better steak for less.
Had set lunch menu. Really enjoyed our starters and main. Desert was fine. Excellent waiter and service.
First time at Gaucho and it won't be the last. Incredibly impressed with the whole experience: delicious food that exceeded expectations, amazing drinks menu with unique cocktails, and friendly and attentive staff.
Food was impeccable service was attentive had a great experience from the lovely friendly staff x
Gaucho seems to have become very mediocre in recent times. The steak was good but not fantastic. The starter was overpriced- 2 scallops for nearly £20- and the sweetcorn side dish which has always been a favourite- wasn’t there anymore. Won’t be rushing back soon after paying over £300 for a 2 course meal and a bottle of wine.
good as usual
The food was fabulous the service amazing, my only complaint would be slow drink service but our waiter more then apologised and overall we had a great visit
Worst service ever! Water blaming the bar staff. Unprofessional.
Food was delicious. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. We didn’t get his name but he is from Sardinia.
The last time we visited Gaucho Sloane was in 2019. In our recent visit we found that the overall experience was almost basic compared to pre-pandemic, with a reduced range menu, an apparent reduction in the presentation standards of the food and an increase in prices…
Furthermore, the menu is now very much diluted to include fish, pasta and even traditional Sunday Roast complete with all the trimmings
A very different experience, no longer worth the money.
It’s wasn’t overly busy when we sat down in the restaurant. Unfortunately when it came to ordering we where then told items we had asked for where not available and how busy they had been the night before. A little more thought when we say down to tell us things where missing would have made a big difference.
The service was excellent. We enjoyed the food and the presentation.
Steaks.. mamma Mia.. the ribeye.. drool..
And the chimichurri sauce.. the best I've tasted. And I've tried a few and nothing compares..
The apple and pear tarte tatin was pear.. and prepare I'd guess because it came quickly and was very soggy sadly. Sad end to an amazing steak and wine..
Great steak, which is the main reason to go of course...it's a bit pricey but it is a nice spot
It was an ok steakhouse. Husband ordered the rump steak; he liked it. I ordered the burger; the patty was overcooked and so small the brioche bun is all I remember. The chips we enjoyed - skin on, lightly salted and good size (i.e. not fat chips). The wine, Catena Historico, was excellent, but they should have a better decanter as it spilled doesn't matter how you carefully you poured it on the glass.
Food was pretty great as always as were the drinks. I feel bad as forgotten the lovely waitress from southern Italy who looked after us. There was an issue with one of the steaks but when it did come it was marvellous and were offered a round of drinks as an apology. I would return. They apologised profusely for the error, which is all you expect and as it felt so genuine we felt we were looked after.
Reliably delicious steak (bife de ancho) although I first had to send it back because it was overcooked. Beef empanadas equally good and tasted genuinely Argentinian. The decor is not great but the food makes up for it. The waiter was kind and helpful. Service was prompt. The wine was a tad expensive.
