This is a great neighbourhood restaurant ... excellent service, yummy cocktails and a great range of food options, from eggs benedict for lunch to steak frites for supper. The interior decor is very welcoming and the windows roll back on a hot night to make the interior cool - with a Mediterranean feel! We're not talking Michelin food but the quality is very good and the portions fair sized. The menu worked well for a group of fussy eaters... good veggie options, great burgers and some more Gallic dishes. This is an honest and friendly restaurant and deserves to do very well.
Great food like the way the restaurant specialises in ‘food thats in season’ and they create a very interesting menu!
Gazette is by far my favorite restaurant in Putney. The food is outstanding and the drinks are equally as good.
I took my boyfriend here as a mid week treat, and we both had a fantastic time. I had the chicken, and he had the duck and we shared some mashed potato. He had one of there cocktails which he said was amazing. All the food was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. We than shared an apple tart and creme brulee for desert. Yummy!! It's a very good price for money coming just under £70. All the staff were very attentive and charming.
We will most definitely be back. Thank you Gazette, keep up the outstanding work.
Once again, Gazette came up trumps. I booked on the spur of the moment that afternoon for somewhere to eat in Putney (close to the train station) after a lecture in central London. It turned out to be Chateaubriand night - great value and delicious aged beef steak with bearnaise sauce and chips - who could want for anything more on a rainy rainy night. Staff welcoming and friendly even if I had booked for two (by mistake) and only one person turned up. One slight niggle - I do make a mean bearnaise sauce and I think mine beats that of Gazatte hands-down. Was it pre-made from a bottle - I didn't ask... and the portion of sauce was far tooooo small for the generous size steak.
Highly recommend Gazette as the best place to eat in Putney by miles.
Great food. Escargot and the frites were amazing. Wine selection was nice. My steak was a little under cooked from what I requested, but I still enjoyed it. Staff very friendly, however they seemed rushed and overwhelmed due to how busy it was. That said I would definitely go back. I really liked it.
Had a nice lunch here with a few friends and we had a nice meal. I had two courses which were specials and they were really good but my friends ordered not so well. The duck and steaks were both tough. The snails were good. The wine selection is really good and the service was good.
We are regular customers. Never got disappointed. Food is tasty, reasonably priced. Staff friendly.
Really great local restaurant in Putney. A real find. Very good value. Great service - plenty of attentive staff without being overbearing. Super wine list with lost of reasonable options. Very good sized meals (ie not enormous but not mean). Nice ambiance. Really super evening
Amazing everything. Service, food, wine, cocktails, all top!
We had the weekday set lunch and it was delicious and very good value.
6 dishes ordered, 2 first courses, 2 main and 2 puddings. One was outstanding (warm foie gras), others very good, and one was disappointing (overcooked duck). Ambience was very good, service was very helpful and friendly. Overall a lovely local restaurant, and would definitely recommend to others, and in spite of the one disappointing dish, I would go back for the warm foie gras which really was exceptionally good.
Excellent food and service; authentic French cuisine, and a decent selection of international beers.
Very good find! Service friendly and food well prepared. Very decent wine list, too. Reasonably priced for the quality. All seven at our table pleased with everything.
Fantastic lunch with friends. Food is very good and authentic French recipes , with big portions and fair prices for London. Service was wonderful - didn’t feel rushed. Highly recommend it!
Great atmosphere for a Saturday night. Excellent food. A little pricey but well worth itz Will definitely visit again!
Amazing food - lovely people - just a bit busy but it was snowing outside
Perfect spot for pre rugby international lunch with friends. Excellent service and delicious French bistro style food at sensible prices.
Absolutely fantastic French meal, prompt and friendly staff; not to mention knowledgeable. Will definitely visit again, one of my favourite cuisines executed phenomenally.
Gazette is by far and away the best restaurant in Putney after Enoteca Turi relocated to Chelsea. Very well crafted French bistro fare, well priced and very good service. Brunch is surprisingly good too, not normally a French forte; highly recommended if you're in the area
Ate there with my mother and all the food we ordered was way too salty.
Second time there. Some of the food wasn’t up to scratch
This was my first visit and I enjoyed my meal. I started with a pate and my friends had the onion soup all fresh and authentic. We had the Irish mackeral and the duck a l'orange which was cooked perfectly. All the food that was on neighbouring tables looked equally as good. We squeezed in dessert and had the freshly cooked madeleines that were warm and melted in the mouth. The service was just right, attentive and friendly. I will definitely be returning and would recommend this restaurant. A great find in Putney.
A real find. Outstanding value for such quality cooking - served by staff who really care about food.
This is fast becoming my favourite restaurant in Putney. I have been here 4 times now and always had something different from
The menu. The food is absolutely delicious and I am yet to be disappointed. Lovely ambience and fantastic attentive staff.
Food was good as always. Service was really great with staff happy to answer questions on the menu and wine list. Was also lovely and warm (even in the window) despite the super cold weather.
I really like Gazette and the food is always good. I and my husband had the fillet steak and our friend had the burger. Both were exeptional both in taste and quality. The staff are always polite and friendly and cannot do enough to make sure you are ok. We could only fit in a small taster dessert and had a Madeline with chocolate sauce. This was truly a highlight, warm sponge with the sauce, truly heavenly. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and should be well supported.
Lovely staff and service, excellent food and good choice of mainly French wine
A firm local restaurant- the service is always good and welcoming with very good food at reasonable Prices.
Amazing food and great atmosphere.
Really enjoyed dining in Gazette!! Thank you the lovely staff!!
Great French food cooked to perfection with specials available!
Great local restaurant
Everything about this place is excellent. The only negative is that the toilets are always freezing!
Been to Gazette at least five times in the past, never fails to disappoint. Excellent choice of food and service is impeccable.
We booked in here on Sunday evening at very short notice and glad we did. The quality of the food was excellent with the menu offering some different dishes. We tried the Bone Marrow Toast, Cod with potato risotto, and steak with shallot sauce. All were delicious, and lemon crepes for dessert were to die for. If we’re ever back in Putney we’ll definitely call here again.
Once again had a lovely time here. Really fantastic food alongside a nice atmosphere and good service. Plus you get to draw on the tables. :-)
Absolutely phenomenal experience! I can’t think of better value restaurant, with such amazing variety of dishes, friendly service and great ambience
First visit to this restaurant but will certainly be back.
food was lovely, the steak was nicely cooked and great service.
Excellent as always - friendly, easy, good food and service.
