We were there at a time when because of COVID-19 few people were dining out. We went early and enjoyed a very tasty meal. Unfortunately as with many restaurants, the lights, already relatively dim, were turned down at a certain point. This is a tacky habit and one never a consideration for some of the best restaurants where food is meant to be appreciated both for taste and for presentation. I hope the owners will rethink this idea. Has anyone ever surveyed the public? Would they not go to the restaurant if they didn't turn down the lights? If the menu is as good as it is here, I doubt it. On the other hand, I will have to consider if I want to go back because good food or not, I want to see my dinner companions and my food!

My wife, Cynthia, and I celebrated Valentines 1 day late as we had been traveling. Our dinner was great, service excellent, great wine choice as well. We will be back!

Location was really good, great atmosphere (albeit hectic, but semi-casual and lighthearted), and the food was really an awesome experience.

The pricing is a little high but I felt the quality of ingredients and the unique dishes definitely stepped up to match it. Was a good evening!

Chose for Valentine's day because it wasn't prix-fixe, as other restaurants indicated they were on OpenTable; showed up and it was $85 prix-fixe. I get that it's Valentine's day! Just wish they'd been transparent about it. Food was very good, as was the service, though it was aggressive - they tried to take my food away three times before I was done (and our whole meal lasted an hour). Again, I get that it must be one of the most stressful nights of the year for any restaurant, but it also didn't really make me want to go back.

Charming little restaurant with the potential for a great dining experience. All food was delicious. We had pork belly and seared foie gras for appetizers, venison Bourgogne now, wagyu steak, a boar chop and rabbit cassoulet for entrees and all were superb. Wines were excellent as well.
However the atmosphere and service did not live up to the food standards, with seats that were downright uncomfortable, a room that lacked charm and decor and service that lacked know how. For example we sat at our table, the restaurant was empty, and the first question we were asked was “are you ready to order”. Not- Did we have questions about the menu? Would we like help choosing a wine? Were there any specials? While our waitress was very lovely, the lack of polish was disappointing for the expense and food quality, and the discomfort of our seating took away from our dining experience. We would certainly recommend for the food however but it is a very casual dining experience.

We had the mushroom fondue to start and the boar chop, venison stew and salmon (between 3 of us). Everything was delicious but the boar and venison were particular stand outs. The meat was fork tender and flavorful. And the service was wonderful. They even kindly surprised us with a strawberry parfait on the house, which was a lovely end to a lovely meal. Would definitely go back to try more of the menu!

Awesome food, great service! Had the filet with seared fois gras which was out of this world! They were also kind enough to make charcuterie which was not on the menu. Couldn’t have been better and the staff is the best! The room is a little worn looking but comfortable- don’t let that put you off. A terrific place!

The owner was our server this evening. He greeted us with real happiness that we were there. Felt good, especially because we stumbled upon the place at 3pm, had lunch, and then stayed until dinner service started and he didn’t mind at all (running the whole place by himself). The food was different from anything else you could find in Brooklyn and even Manhattan. It’s French with some twists, but my god, for the price you can’t have this experience anywhere else. Like seriously... the food was next level, wine list thoughtful while a bit short. If you indulge, do yourself a favor, try the foie here

Delighted to find this wonderful restaurant! Delicious food- roasted cauliflower, beet salad, duck confit, pork wrapped in prosciutto, chocolate soufflé and strawberry parfait‼️
All excellent, unique and satisfying. The waiters were sweet and Informative.
We will definitely return with friends and family.

The food was great, the ambiance charming, but I took off two stars for the the irritatingly bad service. We were a party of four and had the prix fixe dinner. The appetizers were very good and interesting choices (I had foie gras, DH had the tongue, others had the bison.) We had delicious venison and steak for dinner with a tasty and affordable red wine to go with them. Then the servers ignored us for 45 minutes, and nothing, not even arm semaphoring and cries of "desert here" could get them back. Finally DH went and loomed over them and they consented to come back and take our desert orders (the option of just stalking out without desert was not a good one, in that we were already going to have to pay for it.) Then it was 20 minutes until desert came out. At least it was good.

I really am torn as to whether I would recommend this restaurant to friends. It was Christmas. But the restaurant, although lively, was not crammed full. They should have been able to carry it off better, or if not, they need to increase staff.

My 95 year old grandfather has not stopped talking about how excellent the food was for our Christmas Dinner. It was the perfect venue as it was quiet and he could hear everyone. Service was excellent!

Our second time at the Fort Greene location and just as enjoyable and pleasant ar the first. Superb food, quiet and efficient service. We had venison, salmon and beef tornedos this time, and all three were just delicious.

Highly recommended.

I often eat here when I come up to NYC to visit my daughter. The food is uniformly excellent. Service is quick and professional. They do not have the need to introduce themselves as I am_______ your server. That and how is it tasting are 2 of my favorite gripes in restaurants and I appreciate that they do neither. The location is low key and unpretentious. In a fancier location you would pay at least twice as much. SO go and enjoy a really nice French meal in a low key environment.

We ate at the LES location many years ago and wanted to try this out. The food & service were excellent. The only challenge was the noise level. It was hard to have a conversation because it was so noisy. But everything else compensated for the noise.

Our visit on a Tuesday evening was for a special anniversary, and we could not be more pleased with the food, the service and the ambiance. The menu is varied and exsquisite, the wine selections excellent and the service first rate.

Highly recommended. Do try the Bison Tartare appetizer, it was very, very good.

Cute spot in Fort Greene. The food was excellent - really enjoyed every dish. Our server was really nice and attentive. There seemed to be a new server or manager who kept getting in the way and doing weird things (trying to clear before we were done, taking our champagne glasses even though we ordered a bottle). He was unfriendly + unsmiling but luckily our server made up for it with her sunny personality and attentiveness. At one point they asked us to move to another table to accommodate a bigger party, which we here happy to do, since we had just finished our mains and were waiting for dessert. They comped us a glass of bubbly and a dessert. Would definitely go back.

We were slightly disappointed to arrive and find the menu listed on their website was different than what was actually available. That being said, the tagliatelle sauce was exceptionally good-though the pasta was over cooked.-not enough to hinder our enjoyment of the dish. There was bread provided with a wonderful garlic olive oil & paprika dipping sauce. I’d definitely try this place again.
