We were slightly disappointed to arrive and find the menu listed on their website was different than what was actually available. That being said, the tagliatelle sauce was exceptionally good-though the pasta was over cooked.-not enough to hinder our enjoyment of the dish. There was bread provided with a wonderful garlic olive oil & paprika dipping sauce. I’d definitely try this place again.
Excellent food with very good wait staff. Would strongly recommend it to friends
Had an 8-person brunch here for our anniversary. Food and drinks were great, service was solid. Absolutely no complaints. This is a great brunch spot!
Inedible steak, salty vegetables. Nice but inattentive staff. Really bad.
The food is over alll fantastic. They seem to like Foie Gras a lot as it is in several dishes. I had it on the steak which was quite tasty. I was a bit disappointed that the grilled calamari was rubbery...especially for the price. The waiter seems to forget about us for a while and then we got another one so I'm not sure what that was about. Also it got pretty loud when it was full capacity which makes it hard to talk. Overall it's worth trying for the food but for the price I wish the other things didn't happen.
Excellent food, very attentive service, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere, absolutely perfect for Sunday brunch.
Some of the most inventive food in the city (certainly at the price), but, don’t know if some kitchen help called in sick, or if they weren’t used to the number of people, but service was realllllly slow. Still one of our favorites (and we have to trek from Manhattan’s upper west side.
Great food will come back again and again
I would strongly recommend this restaurant as the excellent service, food, and prices places it among the best French restaurants in the city in my opinion.
Great food and great service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
We enjoyed the food, service and wine- Daniel was an excellent host and informative on all the wine choices.
Gentleman Farmer has a very reasonable prix-fixe, which is varied and delicious. The restaurant also often has a no corkage fee on their wines. I am surprised that the restaurant is often pretty empty because it is certainly a gem of Fort Greene.
This place was pretty perfect on all fronts. I was a bit confused why it was not more busy on a Saturday night. Total gem and my new favorite spot. There were 3 of us but we ordered a lot and shared plates... everything was DELICIOUS. Service was great, place was cute and bathrooms clean.
Excellent food, and superlative, considerate service with great recommendations. This is my new go-restaurant for special occasions.
Were only table there on a Thursday night. Food was microwaved to warm up. Braised rabbit was tuff and chewy. Pre prepared sides and purées were cold.
Delicious food. Especially enjoyed the apple fritter starter with cinnamon ice cream. Delicious lattes. Dishes were all appealing and tasty. Issue with ordering a rose wine, and not half my glass filled. One server for over 60 diners made for an absence in service, and a long wait for brunch. Environment needs attention, paint, upkeep. Very noisy. Probably not try dinner with this confusion.
Fantastic dining experience all throughout. Our server Oscar was very informative of the dishes and made our 1 year anniversary a very special one. We will be returning
Great food and great staff! They even gave us free dessert for our first date! Thanks!
Brunch was wonderful. Very nice set up. Great for an intimate gathering or group gathering. Great experience and great service. The food was amazing as well. Will return.
Good service, not too crowded, great cauliflower salad. Small plate so don’t order as an entree.
Amazing host and service. Prix fix meal is a great deal. Food was delicious. Accommodating for my vegan friend.
The host/waiter was very lovely. Delicious food and quiet ambience on a Saturday night in NYC.
Overpriced for what it offers. Food is variable some dishes very good others quite mediocre. Too much chopped kale as a side. For about $32.00 a main dish one expects more. Desserts are lacklustre. Bread is from Grand Daisy and vg. Wine by the glass good quality but modest pour.
What a gem! Everything was excellent from the Appetizer course, through dessert!
The food and service were truly stellar. But, the place was severely lacking in any kind of good feel to it. The walls looked scraped and there were empty hooks everywhere. The lighting was in your eyes and was a bad temperature. I could go on... It would seem any amount of money they were able to budget could really help the place - even just a paint job! All this makes us undecided as to whether we will go back or not.
While the scallops were a tad salty, everything else was magnificent: the tagliatelle, the salmon, the rack of lamb... fantastic! And the Sicilian wine, Nero d’Avola, superb.
The food was exceptional. Perfectly chosen combinations of ingredients. The service was great, the wine was great. We will be back.
The food was delicious, but the service was terrible. The waiter was curt and unfriendly. He tried to memorize our orders, but got it wrong. The table beside us got impatient waiting for him to take their order and just left. We came to realize that there was only one waiter, but he never acknowledged that he was covering all 5 occupied tables. Weirder still, it turns out he was the owner - but he didn’t try to explain the situation or move any faster than his earlier slow pace. Weird night.
This is a an unpretentious restaurant with friendly service. Some dishes were not memorable, but a couple were outstanding. All in all an enjoyable dinner.
Excellent brunch and the service is so welcoming... a very nice experience as usual!
True farm to table quality. On a Monday evening at 7:30 we were given our choice of tables. Server was attentive, poised, and personable. Not wanting to mull over our preferences, we asked her to surprise us with 2 appetizers and 3 entrees. She embraced the unusual order and brought a variety. The pork belly was so good that we said "we'll take another." Portions were perfect, full but not stuffed and didn't have take-homes. Friends visiting from Italy, and very health conscious, were impressed. ~$30 for an entree, and we were given a dessert on the house. If I lived closer I'd go back for other occasions.
This small gem in Brooklyn is the best food I have had in NYC. It is small and elegant. The food is amazing. Frois Gras on streaks, delicious. This was a last minute decision after a long day of moving, pleasant surprise, and we will be back, next time we are in Brooklyn. Highly recommend!
Came here on a Wednesday. The food is very good but also pretty simple. It was empty and our waitress was super friendly
It was amazing, nice quiet spot with background music. The meals were delicious the appetizers were a bit daring but still very good
Excellent food, good service. Highly recommended, we really enjoyed the evening
Enjoyed brunch very much. If you love hanger steak they have a version for <$20 that is just delish. Worth it just to eat that.
Went for Mother’s Day brunch and had a wonderful meal. The apple fritters are heavenly! So light and fluffy! The eggs Benedict regular and with salmon were also spectacular!
Everything was going on point. Greetings, service and attention of the house staff was relaxed and extremely pleasant. Food choices on the menu all have an unusual zing you will not find a boring dish there. Food was delicious and all the flavors played very well with each other. Do recommend and will come back.
Appetizers were excellent. Main course average. Desserts fantastic. No hard liquor. Only beer & wine. Excellent service. Hard to park in the neighborhood.
