The evening was very pleasant. Had asked for a quiet table (for a birthday celebration). Regrettably, was offered a table with soft couches (very uncomfortable for my bad back) instead of a table with chairs. Was able to get reseated, but the desire for privacy was lost. However, the food and wine experience helped offset the rough start. A word to those who may be concerned; if your preference is for a table with chairs, please don't forget to request specifically when making a reservation.
We had been there a few times before and enjoyed it. Disappointment this time came from the sommelier. We started our dinner ordering two glasses of champagne. Sommelier served us each half a glass insisting it was 6 oz and not 3 oz. These were the two choices on the menu and we had ordered 6 oz glasses expecting a near full flute. He served us flutes half filled.
Our server for the meal itself was very nice and friendly. Not sure why the sommelier did this. My wife and I almost always start a nice meal with a glass of champagne and this is the first time this ever happens.
Very much enjoyed our meal. The service was excellent and the food very good. The presentation of the food was beautiful.
Service was excellent but restaurant very noisy. The food was okay, but not amazing, especially given the price.
Excellent service. Bland food. Some of the meat was tougher than it should have been, considering the class of restaurant. Small portions. Ok ambiance - quite loud and patrons are seated very close together. Overall, not worth the hefty price tag. You get much more for much less money at better restaurants such as Bar Isabel.
Kimberly was an amazing server! When we return we will
Be requesting her area, food was fantastic. Thank you for making our bday celebration. Extra special.
Geordie and Mia
We had the 7 course tasting menu with the wine pairing for my partners birthday. Although expensive it was an amazing experience for our special occasion.
It was a nice surprise. The chef was able to accommodate all our food restrictions, and there were many.
It shows how talented the chef and his staff must be to make a meal for you, based on food restrictions and every bite be absolutely perfect.
Everyone of their staff members were delightful.
Service was on point. This restaurant is well worth the money and the time.
Oh yes make sure you have a few hours to sit for dinner. You simply cannot rush quality like this.
What can I say, if you can afford it, do not miss it.
Never the cheapest eatery in the Big Smoke, but always one of the best. We've made it a habit for special occasions. Really fine service.
Always an excellent dining experience.
Fantastic! Lovely staff, very knowledgeable! Food was all around beautiful
Such a beautiful dining experience. The food was pleasing to the eye and the palate. The service exquisite.
While the food was excellent the server was not the most welcoming and seemed to ignore us as the night went on.
We had the most wonderful lunch here. We both ordered the 4 course tasting menu with wine pairing and everything was amazing. They brought different dishes to each of us and we like to share, so we had eight different dishes to enjoy. The sommelier was outstanding. The waiter clearly explained every dish in detail. We only wish George’s was in our area so we could frequent them more often. Highly recommend!
I’ve eaten at so many restaurants in Toronto and this has got to be my new favourite. The food and service was phenomenal!
The service staff were delightful.
Amazing Restaurant. Chef Lorenzo never disappoints.
Would recommend to all
One of Toronto’s best restaurants.
The vibe of the restaurant is great. It’s buzzing but not too noisy. Food was great and the service was exceptional!
This was truly an all-sensory culinary experience! Would recommend to anyone that appreciates the art and creativity of food.
all in all was ok but not by any means worth the money.
Lovely birthday celebration. Tasting menu is a must. Go for the 7 course instead of 5 to be wowed more. Good service.
Tasting menu was a great experience. Wine pairing was perfect and we appreciated the comments from the sommelier.
We had a wonderful time. The table was located in a perfect location. The ambiance was very nice. We did the 7 course tasting menu and every dish was exquisite.
George is fantastically imaginative and consistently delicious! Love the vibe and the service is 5 Star.
Took tasting menu with wine pairing - was excellent as usual
Wish my main course was warmer
More dessert selection on the tasting menu
I had a meal here 6 months ago and i would have given 5* all the way, but last week i had the 5 course tasting menu, there was very little food in each course, the veg was bland, the fois grass i didnt eat and the steak main course was well done and full of grizzle - i eat very little. So I don't know if it was a bad night but it wasn't good.
Went for my birthday. Great food, fabulous service.
Excellent++ service and exceptionnal food presentation and quality. Cozy and comfortable ambiance. Will go back for sure!
This is one of our favorite restos, and this time was for a special occassion. The staff was extremely helpful in helping with the “surprise” arrangements, and the food as usual was divine.
My favourite restaurant in Toronto by far. The food is always outstanding and the service impeccable
Server, Enzo was very arrogant. Unapologetic when cork found in both of our glasses. Offered to filter our bottle of wine instead of replace it. We asked for it to be replaced. He did again with no apology, as if that’s ok. Finished plates remained on the table for long periods of time, despite he was in the area picking up neighbouring tables. Table was not cleaned between the courses and throughout the service.
The restaurant is noisy- sounds of voices travel and elevate.
Food is amazing. Beautiful presentation and great flavours. Ushers who bring food to the table are very respectful and courteous. Dessert and cheese platter needs much improvement.
I think if this restaurant could offer the level of service that a restaurant like scaramouche provides (which is incredible), I would return and recommend. For now, this was a first and last time.
I took my guests to this restaurant several times this year, and I took my guests from Korea for business dinner this time. I ordered 7-course with wine pairings for all of us (6 people). As usual, the foods were very good, but I was disappointed with a sommelier. Usually a sommelier explains each wine to guests, but he did not do it at all. I am familiar with other sommelier, but unfortunately he was serving other tables. Also, the choice of wine was not as good as before. I "thought" the sommelier did not explain about wine at all and brought cheaper wine because he thought we did not know so much about wine... Anyway, I tipped 20% though.
Fantastic food and service.
The service was above average and the servers engaging. The portions could have been bigger. My wife ordered medium rare rib-eye and it came well done.
Service was absolutely extraordinary. Food was perfect.
Great food, wine and service. Location a bit sketchy - cab or Uber recommended if that is a concern.
GEORGE'S restaurant is by far the best place my fiancé and I have been to. Food and service was amazing. The bread is deadly! We ate 2 full baskets. Lol. We will definitely be back.
Food and service was amazing. Highly recommended.
