Service started out strong but faded as the restaurant got more busy. The food was delicious even if not exactly was we thought we ordered. Mike high Apple pie was worth fighting over.
Wonderful experience. Food was good and service was excellent
The fried oysters were amazing !!!! Food is always great
Took three friends for their first Georgia Brown dining experience. They loved everything!
We really enjoyed the food and our waitress made it all the better. Our waitress explained in detail each dish we asked about. We wanted to experience this restaurant because we had heard about it for years but most of us were from other cities. We all enjoyed it.
Seated promptly. Good mixed crowd. Some church folks dressed up, some casual business lunches and some Jeans and polos and no one felt out of place. Buffet flowed well, servers cleared tables expeditiously, live jazz with songstress a nice touch. Best bacon I've had this year. Egg and waffle station cooked to order. Desserts station and one entree to go in addition to buffet included in price. I would return.
Service was awesome for such a big group and LORD! that food was amazing, I spelt like a baby after. 😂
Food was delish. Menu provided lots of choices. My vegetarian friend was so happy. It was just hot in the restaurant and so noisy that we had to yell to each other.
First time to visit and I will go back the next time in DC. The jazz music trio sounded great and the shrimp and grits dush was a homerun choice.
The air conditioning was not working very well the night we had dinner! It was a bit challenging to have conversation due to the live jazz music.
Food was delicious and portions were ample.
Things have changed. Menu reduced and choice not as good. Sensed restaurant not busy like usual and was very disappointed.
Over priced food posing as southern cuisine. Couldn't enjoy conversation with guest as it was extremely loud inside. Wouldn't recommend or re-visit. The only positive was that the staff was friendly.
The brunch is the best in D.C.!!! Loved it!
Everything was delicious! The service was great too!
Won't be back. I have visited in the past and the experience was beyond pleasurable. However upon arriving the waiting area had no seating. It was hot and very little air. Made reservations and still had to wait 45 minutes. Then the food at the buffet table was limited to a few items. I could have done a heck of a lot better at a backyard BBQ.
Certainly wasn't the Georgia Brown I knew in the past.
Celebrating the birthday and promotion of a dear friend, Georgia Brown served as the perfect setting for great food, service, music, and atmosphere. Thank you so much for remaining consistent over all these years!
The Sunday Brunch comes with a take out entree...AWESOME
This was our first visit to Georgia Brown’s Restaurant and we were very please with the food, ambience and service provided. They went beyond my expectations. Thank you and keep up the good work!!!
We had a reservation and they weren't at all organized, leading us to the wrong table twice. It took 15 minutes for the waiter to come get our drink order.
Food did come out quickly.
My biddy and I were seated right away, because we were exactly on time. The service was superb, she was friendly and swift with taking our orders. She also knew what the day's special was that evening.
The food was nicely prepared and delicious! Every last morsel! The final bill was reasonable, for the location of restaurant and because we held off on the adult beverages. I will definitely be back when I visit DC again!!!
No lasting impressions. Everything was just ok.
Server was friendly.
Great place to enjoy a menu that is unconventional. The chicken is amazing.
Fabulous experience! Great food choices and delectable taste. The music was wonderful and we were seated immediately thanks to Open Table!
This restaurant is worn in every aspect. It looks very dirty in the dining area and the kitchen. The food is just ok and $45 for brunch it too much given the low quality food - though it is all you can eat. The waiter was great. The jazz band was great.
We left after the appetizers. The scallop and crab appetizer looked like the scallops had come out of a can. The pork belly appetizer was chewy. The sangria tasted like a cheap bottle of wine had been opened the day before and not properly corked so the wine had already turned and tasted like vinegar. The cocktails we ordered off the menu were delicious but that was not enough to get us to stay for the entrees.
We ate outside so it was quiet and relaxing. Inside it was too noisy for us.
Foods & service was great. The hostess needs more training.
Terrific menu of authentic Low Country and NOLA cuisine. The restaurant is very loud and the staff very active but sufficiently attentive. Food was well prepared and although the menu is a bit redundant (how many different dishes can you create with the same four proteins in them). Shrimp and Grits were delicious, with four enormous shrimp (heads on, as promised). Deconstructed Jumbalaya equally flavorful, if not traditional. Must have: fried pork rinds were the lightest, least greasy ever with an amazing, fresh pimento cheese dip. Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie was also excellent for dessert.
Food was excellent and the restaurant was beautiful.
Great food and service
I had the Jambalaya and it was really good. Nice Mai Tai as well.
The service and food were great. It was a little noisy inside which made it difficult to hear and talk
I enjoyed the overall experience at Georgia Browns. I will definitely be revisiting soon.
I had two friends here from the Netherlands one of whom is a professional chef and wanted to take them to somewhere special. Georgia Brown’s did not let me down. Our server did a wonderful job explaining low country cuisine. The meal was superb in all regards.
This was our third time coming from Richmond,VA and the worst time! We ended up sitting at the bar because our table was not ready, you all was still setting up! At the bar the guy could not remember our order, he came back several times asking about our order, he was trying to do too much! Then we get our food the Chicken taste like it was fried in old grease! The collard greens and dirty rice was ok. The crab cakes had no taste the Mac and cheese tasted old! We got catfish as a appetizer that was ok. We do not plan to come back! A real disappointment!
Our server was amazing, attentive and made us feel welcome as always. The selection and quality of food is always a treat. The omelette station and chocolate fountain are a must every time! The beautiful music from the jazz band is the perfect accompaniment to a wonderful meal. Georgia Brown's is and will always be a go-to for any occasion.
This was second visit to Georgia Brown’s. First visit was about 4 years ago and it was outstanding. At that time you could order brunch entries off a menu and everything we ordered was special. Back in DC we returned to experience once again. We were very disappointed to find a buffet supplemented with a menu offering several lunchentres you could choose from and take home as you wished. This would have been fine if had a home to bring to but being tourists we weren’t going back to hotel after brunch and had no means of keeping this food. The buffet items were fresh and tasty however they were not close to the caliber of the brunch items we had several years ago. Service was great. The trio performing during the brunch was very talented however the music was so loud, we couldn’t talk without shouting and we couldn’t hear the server at all. Overall, a buffet with an entre for $45 brunch ( drinks not included) might work for others- the restaurant was full of people- however not an enjoyable experience for us.
My favorite place, it’s our go to. They were even able to take us a little early
Delicious food, and service! I got The ribs, Mac and cheese and coke slaw, and it was the best Mac and the best ribs I’ve ever had. The sauce was not too sweet, and had a wonderful flavor, and fell apart. The Mac and cheese was hot and fresh, rare when you order that at a Restaraunte. My husband devoured his jambalaya. I loved That you could watch the kitchen, and the peach cobbler was as amazing as it sounded. Perfect size to share!
