The service could not be any better and in fact I would like to thank them very much. I had a slight accident with one piece of my weiner schnitzel and they brought me another piece which was very good of them. The whole evening was lovely from the moment my friend and I walked in at 18:00 until we walked out at 20:45.

Great location and beautiful building convenient for Kings X. It's a cool atmosphere with plenty of space and amazing flower display in the middle of the room. Despite all this the food and price lets it down. This is not gourmet and I understand the food is supposed to be comfort: currywurst, hot dogs and burgers but it is almightily expensive, prepare for your wallet to be fleeced. Also I had a pint of pilsner and it was warm so a stein is gonna get to room temperature pretty quickly.

The starter asparagus salad did not taste very much of asparagus. The rest was fine

Good selection of traditional German food, clean facilities and good ambience. I thought space was tight particularly in the main restaurant downstairs - it's as if they are trying to squeeze every inch out of the floor with patrons. Service was mediocre with either very young, not highly educated staff (e.g. had asked what tea options were there and she included fresh mint, so I said I'd like peppermint tea please to which she responded, "we don't have that"...) or foreign staff with poor English (server came to table and neither my companion nor I understood what she was asking). Understand it's challenging time for hospitality industry due to Brexit so it wasn't a deal breaker. If you're keen on trying German food, then the Gymnasium is a good option.

Nice building but too much background noise from music and tables being so close together. This made it difficult to hold a normal conversation. Food was good.

Great experience at German Gymnasium, staff were happy to seat us early and the service was excellent. Lovely food and drinks, good value for money in a popular and thriving area of London.

Had a table upstairs - perfect lunch option when meeting someone travelling through Kings X. Great setting, fab food and amazing service.
