Getti - Jermyn Street
Delightful lunch with a work colleague. Sat upstairs where there is plenty of space between tables for a quiet conversation. Delicious calamari, pasta and pizza. Attentive service could have had us in and out inside the hour but we lingered over coffee and were not hurried off. Perfect for a working lunch.
Fantastic food and the service was great. Place is easy to find and not too big - ambiance is casual and not noisy. We ordered the Tagliatelle dell casa, Bolognese, liver & chicken parm - all were excellent. Desserts were great too - be sure to order the chocolate cake & fried gnocchi filled w/Nutella. We would eat here again & highly recommend it
A great Saturday lunch with our extended family. Great food, a good atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff.
Great service and great, authentic Italian food as ever. And good value too - although the wine list is a little pricey.
An excellent venue for lunch, convenient, with good food and ambiance.
Food as good as usual; service as efficient as usual. A predictably good place to meet and enjoy the experience.
the restaurant cancelled the reservation 2H before we were supposed to have lunch. Very unfortunate.
Delicious authentic Italian food. Excellent service especially as we were in a rush for the theatre. Good wine and cost overall was very good value. For somewhere so central a fabulous experience we will be back.
Solid Italian food offering. I’d suggest making sure to make a reservation - they were keen to turn all those without one away when we were there. I made a ressie maybe 20 minutes beforehand no problem so definitely worth it to not run the risk of being turned away. We had good portions, good service and good food all the way around.
excellent hospitality and meals of fresh homemade products. We had a great time ! we strongly recommend.
Pre-theatre. Over-priced for the food quality
After looking at reviews for this I saw that it came very highly recommended, and so I expect my expectations were high. We asked to be placed near the back as it was a cold evening and the front of the restaurant was freezing, the waiter proceeded to give us a table at the back.. but in parallel to the door so we got hit with a blast of cold air every time someone opened the door, which ruined the experience for us a bit! The food wasn't as spectacular as I had hoped - I don't think I will be visiting again.
Very reasonably priced restaurant and is good value for money. Service was also fantastic. If you're looking for an affordable restaurant in central London that's not too busy with nice atmosphere, Getti is the place to go.
Had a meal here on New Year's Eve so it was busy but still great food, good service and lovely ambience. I had the linguine vongole which was delicious and the gnochetti with Nutella was a tasty dessert! Very nice wine as well.
This was a very disappointing experience at a restaurant in such a prime location. The fried seafood left a cloying taste which suggested that fish had been cooked in old oil and the spinach was overcooked and tasteless. The filet di manzo was OK bur uninspiring. Neither of the dishes justified the price and could best be described as mediocre.
Service was very slow but attentive at the wrong times. Constantly being asked if everything is OK, is OK, if the other service matches it. Simple requests for additional sauce or the bill took forever and it took far too long to attract a waiter's attention despite the fact that the restaurant was not full.
If Getti wants to attain the very highest standards of Italian cooking and service obtainable in London to justify its prices, it will have to perform considerably better than this. It cannot live on its location alone.
Th service in tis restaurant is very poor. You need to ask at least 3 times to different waiters to get anything you need. The food was fairly average but the restaurant is conveniently located.
Have been coming here for a long time but last two visits have been disappointing . We always relied on the Set Menu for pre theatre but they've done away with that . My husband had the seafood special which was very disappointing - v little fish in it . Wine at £8 per glass was way overpriced . Having relied on Getti for years we won't be coming back any time soon . Staff are very pleasant and helpful .
Reliable tasty Italian Fayre. Good location, price, food and gorgeous staff.
Reasonable price, reasonable food, reasonable choice. It was all fine, didn't blow me away but did the job....
Reliable fairly priced Italian. Spaghetti Carbonara was a particular treat. Service is friendly and efficient and ambience relaxed but not too informal or noisy. Well located for theatres.
nice place with good level of service, however the food quality was well below expectation. the prawn, crab & scampi fetterchini consisted of shellfish bones with very little fish, & the pasta contained numerous fragments of shells which meant it was virtually inedible, wish I had gone for the pizza instead!
My friends and I (party of 12) booked a table on the ground floor (I am in a wheelchair). There was a slight mix-up when some of our party arrived and discovered that our table was not on the ground floor , but up three steps ( not do-able for me), but the staff quickly fixed this mistake (I already knew that there is about a four-inch step at the entrance, but the staff was very helpful in holding the door open, while my wife helped me over the step). There were at least three things on the menu that really appealed to me, but I knuckled down and made a decision. I had a pizza. The crust was slightly overdone, but still a good meal, and i was satisfied with my choice. One of our party is a vegetarian, and she had a good range of choices.
The house red wine (£19.90 a bottle) was very good.
The service seemed a bit slow, but that could have been the kitchen's fault, and all in all we had a wonderful time. The location is prime, and I would recommend this restaurant for anyone in the area looking for good food at an affordable price.
My mother and I enjoyed our meal.
We both thought the ravioli was delicious . It melted in the mouth and was made with high quality ingredients. The salad complimenting the course was also lovely: fresh and tasty grated carrot on a bed of four types of leaves and given a subtle dressing.
The starters were fine. My mother enjoyed a rustic vegetable soup and my Caprese was perfect. The balsamic was good.
My only negative point regarding food was the wait for the dessert. Twenty minutes for a sorbet was too long.
The ambiance of the place was spoilt by terrible music from the 1980s.
The service in spite of the dessert problem was very good: polite and respectful .
I will return because I thought it good value for money in the very centre of London.
Excellent Service combined with excellent food continues to attract my wife and I to this restaurant. Our recent (19 August 2015) visit proved this point. We had a minor issue over the acceptance of our 'Tastecard' but this was resolved swiftly and amicably!
Gettie's is a firm favourite - one of the few high end eateries I would recommend for a business lunch
We had a pre-Criterion Theatre meal here on a very warm evening and so the highly efficient air conditioning was a real blessing. The service was fast an efficient; the food was well presented and carefully cooked. My only real 'complaint' was that the liver I ordered could not be delivered 'pink' in the French style - I had to settle for 'medium' which was still excellent.
Lunch was excellent. Perfect sized portions and absolutely delicious.
Great Italian food with good range of options including vegetarian. Friendly and efficient service.
Perfect for business lunches/dinners and pre/post theatre/social.
Close to our theater Quiet street which is desirable. Food was not good. Cannaloni had one asperagus tip and floated in mucky cheese. Rosemary bread was thin pizza with a baked topping ;not what we expected. Very disappointing food. Service was attentive.
Very friendly service and good food - had a meal before the theatre and came back for a drink afterwards
Very good service; 3-course menu very reasonably priced, though extras seemed to mount up; perfect before a performance at the Jermyn Street Theatre (which is underneath the restaurant).
Tucked down Jermyn street off Leicester square, this reataurant is well positioned for theatre and the entertainment district. We got free bubbly for Valentines day too. All other restaurants were busy noisy and no free bookings. Here we for attentive service.
A charming restaurant with very attentive staff and efficient service. Pleasant atmosphere and lovely food. Very good for a pre-theatre meal.
Will definitely go there again and recommend it to friends.
I often have lunch here at a quiet table upstairs, and this was another very nice occasion with a friend. The service was as usual attentive and friendly. I had seafood risotto which is always a favourite of mine. My friend had a very good salad. This is all very good value in this area: if you are looking for somewhere that is friendly, good value, professional and not Mayfair over-the-top then this is a great place. Thanks again Getti.
Attentive & friendly staff. We had an open table booking which was great, so nice not to be reminded that there was more than one sitting! Food was excellent with some unusual combinations.
I was very disappointed with Getti. I chose from the set menu, I had the bruschetta which was less than average, following by chicken cacciatore, which was so overlooked that small sharp bones were floating around and I am surprised I didn't choke and the meat just fell to pieces. My friend also had the set menu and her fishcake starter looked overcooked to me, and her penne looked poor, with little sauce and bad presentation. Perhaps we shouldn't have gone for the set menu .. no doubt using up leftovers. I shan't go there again, which is a pity. You would expect more in somewhere like Jermyn Street.
I was attracted to Getti because of the special deal for lunch. A friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and found the staff extremely helpful. I had been before and will certainly go again.
Booking mislaid. Order for food written down wrongly. Otherwise fine - give them another chance.
This unpretentious restaurant in the heart of the Theatre district was a perfect place for a tasty, quick meal ahead of a 7.30pm show. The service was very good and the food great value for such a convenient location in the West End.
Getti looked after my wife and me very well, Normally I come here for lunch with colleagues or contacts to talk things over. But this was a dinner for two, and the ambience was very good, and the food and wines excellent. My wife had porcini risotto, and I passed on my usual seafood risotto and had seafood frittata. Excellent, friendly, welcoming and warm on the Friday before Christmas. Thank you Getti, see you in 2015.
