What Insiders Are Saying
Ghibellina is a neighborhood Italian spot in Logan Circle. You’ll come for the pizzas and pastas, but stay for the cozy vibes and friendly service.
Fantastic service - great vibe - excellent food
So good we went twice!
One of my favorite go-to restaurants in DC! Consistently amazing food. Wait staff is always superb. I've tried their pizzas and pastas -- both amazing. Apps are great. Wine list is lovely. Can't say enough nice things!
the food was awesome. ❤👐
The bread and the homemade apple/honey butter was some of the best I have ever tasted. The food was fresh and in decent portions and the brunch menu had good variety.
The service was wonderful and informative. And for DC the price wasnt too bad.
Will surely be coming back
Ghibellina really needs to up their game for brunch. Mediocre is all I can offer. The only highlight was the service and $6 mimosa. Other times of the day food is great. Redo the brunch menu since it hasn’t changed in a long time. Won’t be back for brunch til they get a new menu
Great experience for my girlfriends birthday. Service was excellent they paid attention ton every detail.
Excellent food at a great ambience.
My two criticisms are: prices are too high for the very small portions; and service, although friendly and professional, was slow. It felt as if they should use more waiters/waitresses.
Everything from the Sangria to the pizza was prepared perfectly. I love this place!
First we had a reservation and requested outdoor seating. When we got there they said there was no more outdoor seating and we needed to sit inside. When we sat, our waiter repeatedly ignored us and when we asked for help he ran over and said I’m sorry I’m sorry I’ll help you! And then took our order and the food took another 20 minutes to arrive. On top of that we were all vegetarian and he served us a dish with meat in it and didn’t take it back. Then I told him it was my friends birthday and ordered dessert and he said I got you covered. Then when they delivered the desert no birthday candle and no apology. Extremely disappointed in this service meanwhile the manager of the place watched all of this happen and didn’t address any of it. Used to be my favorite Italian restaurant in DC and I will now have to take my business elsewhere.
It is a unique place with character. The pizza is reminiscent of Italy. The calamari were delicious.
First time being at Ghibellina and I’ll return. Food was great. We unfortunately didn’t know that the happy hour deals were only at the bar area so that was my main disappointment. However, I enjoyed the pizza and Nutella cheesecake. Alina(sp?) was great. She was super attentive and paid attention to our picky food preferences 😂. I will be back soon!
Ghibellina does not disappoint. My husband and son love the pizza. The campy fun of using a personalized scissor to cut your own pizza makes it even more novel. My organic chicken was heavenly.
Delicious food but the service was a bit slow. Have been before and would definitely come back!
Amazing food! Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion. Excellent, authentic Tuscan cuisine, fabulous wine list, and the staff is very kind and attentive. One of my favorites in DC!
Note: happy hour prices are only at bar, not sit down tables
Food was good, the servers was beyond slow and not attentive
Cool place and not ideal for a quiet couples evening but we really enjoyed the buzzy feel of the place. Service was slow to start (they were busy) but very pleasant. Pizzas are great! Highly recommended.
Ghibellinas quite frankly is “Much Ado About Nothing!” The menu is unnecessarily confusing with too few choices. The food was expensive, the servings were sparse and not at all remarkable. We left the restaurant hungry.
Upon entering, one would think from the ambiance that you were going to a quaint and classy restaurant. However, the loud music is similar to being at a night club.
The final straw for our party was when a couple walked in with their dog (who was not a service dog!) and sat the dog in the booth right at the table. Disgusting and unhygienic!
I will NEVER return!
When there for Mothers Day food was excellent and great service. I highly recommend this restaurant.
To start off, the night as a whole was completely amazing. The food was great and the service was outstanding. The only slight downside was the noise level. It was a Friday night when I went so many people there seemed to be meeting for drinks after work so it was mpretty loud. My date was only about 2 feet away from me across the table but I had to almost yell so I could hear him. Other than that, it was completely worth the money. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We have been getting pizza as carry out for quite some time. We have also sat at the bar before . This time we reserved a table. Salad was excellent, and we knew that the Quattro fromagi pizza was excellent too. Then we got tiramisu, with an Amaro tasting and 1 expresso. Also had a cocktail before dinner. Everything was great! We will be dining there again, soon!
Great place in a lively location. Food is off the charts good.
First time there, had a great meal. Definitely coming back.
My waiter (Lorenzo) was excellent. He recommended some great food options and the food was excellent.
Introducing 14th Street to foreign friends
The fritto misto was nothing special. A different sauce than marinara might have made it better. My lamb pasta was great, however, as was the nutella cheesecake.
Incredible food, space, service, and people. Could not say enough good things!
Went there to celebrate my friend getting a new job. The hostess gave us a table that was quiet and that was appreciated. Hunter was our server and was on point...as always.
I ordered a ribeye and my sister ordered brick-pressed chicken. We split them and shared. I can't recall having either better prepared. Absolutely delicious!
Food is good, but Ive beenrhwrw a few times and it’s not consistent. Drinks are small pours for expensive prices.
The food is horrible. My daughter and I ordered linguine with clams. It was terrible. Very water and very blend
Great service.. food was excellent..
great location, great food, excellent service, wonderful ambiance
Service was great and food was good but nothing spectacular. Great spot for brunch on a nice day and people watching. Would like to go back for dinner as well. Vegans/veggies - make sure to look up Italian items you dont know (I accidentally ordered something with ham, oops!)
We had such a nice time at Ghibellina!! Our food was delicious and was not heavy at all!! The burrata was perfect! Our waitress was the sweetest as well! After dinner, she took us down to SOTTO which is their downstairs bar. The atmosphere was so cool and they had amazing live music!! Thank you again!!
Pizza was delicious. Wish I would have known you can only get happy hour prices at the bar (no res). I'll do better next time. Great vibe. Excellent service. We loved it.
My husband and I had a lovely time here. Made even more special by our waiter/ server Lorenzo. Ghibellina is lucky to have him on their staff. Friendly, exuberant, thoughtful, helpful and timely!!! I had ordered the tagliatelle but found it was not what I had anticipated as well as cool. Lorenzo promptly suggested an alternative which was perfect. A lamb dish with cherry tomatoes, olives and wide/ broad large rigatoni style noodles. It was delicious and well seasoned. The Margarita pizza was phenomenal. We are always on the search for the perfect thin crust pizza, with the perfect dough and properly cooked to our liking and they hit all three markers. Dough, tomatoe sauce and crispness all right on. And this is from a guy whose mother was from Napoles.
It was fine for brunch. We had an 1100 reservation but had to wait for them to open the doors about 5 after. The food and service was great.
I reserved a high-too table at 8:45. I called at 8:35 to say I was in traffic but would arrive by 8:55. I arrived at 8:54. By that point, the high top tables were taken and I was told there was a wait for normal tables. We sat at the bar instead. While the experience was still a positive one, the idea that I could reserve a spot and then not receive it left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m not sure if I will make future reservations for dinner, or rather relegate this spot to a place I will stop in for a drink and leave.
