First time we ever had proper deep dish pizza and we were not disappointed! Had half there. Took the other half home. Perfect.
The food was fine, but service was incredibly slow- and there was only 4 more tables in the place at this point, so it was pretty empty. And even though we made or reservation they claim we did not. I guess a lesson to keep the receipt.
This is the second time we've come to Gino's East on LaSalle Street with a group. Both times we were blessed to have Jasmine as our server. She does a great job! From the wine to the spinach cheese stick to the pizza everything was excellent! I'd highly recommend this location of Gino's East. I'd also recommended that you ask for Jasmine to be your server.
Just wasn’t the same quality as original.
Still good just not great.
The pizza was next-level dank. Shout out to our server Casey we love you as much as we loved the pizza
Delicious and filling as usual.
Outstanding! Exactly what we were hoping for.
Pizza sauce was sweet- did not care for it. Appetizer tasted like they were frozen. Server, not friendly at all. Will not return to this location.
Went there on happy hour
Even the wings were good
Pizza was well balanced with the cheese and tomato sauce.
It is as great. Great people, great food.
Great server, food was delicious. It was low key and more relaxing.
Wonderful service! I surprised my parents with a trip to Chicago for Christmas and Gino's East was the last 'surprise' of the trip. We loved it! We originally planned to go to a bar before catching the train home but the service was so fantastic we stayed and had a couple drinks there instead! The server (Jesse) was amazing, very respectful and made sure everything was perfect. I'll definitely be going there again!
Fantastic deep dish.
Excellent food and service. Very friendly.
Stopped here during girls weekend. Service was great and our waitress "knew her stuff" with great recommendations.
The comedy show was a pleasant surprise. Our order was a little out of sequence with the salad coming after our pizza. Terrible wine selection.
Easier to get in than other locations. Pizza just as yummy.
We tried Chicago style pizza for the first time and weren’t thrilled with it. The crust was hot but the inside of the pizza was barely warm.
Great spot for a family dinner. We had a great time. Server was very nice and helpful.
Food and service were great! The only down part was that it was about 85 degrees in the building
Overall the food that made it to our table was good. We got a deep dish pizza and were satisfied with it, however we also ordered an appetizer that never arrived to the table because the kitchen was too busy to keep up with appetizer orders. The tables next to us had that problem as well. The service was slow and took about 10 minutes just to get water at our table. We witnessed the server have no idea how to open a wine bottle for another table, which I think should be a skill taught to all servers in places where bottles of wine are sold.
The best deep dish pizza i have ever had!
We were seated upstairs and the place had a foul stench to it. It wasn't crowded at all, but it was 5pm on a weekday, so maybe it's busier on weekends and later in the evening. Our biggest complaint was that the pizza crust was burnt. Kind of the point in coming to a Chicago deep dish pizza place is the pizza crust, so we were very disappointed. My draft beer was close to room temperature. Skip Ginos and go to Lou Malnati's.
The food was good. The staff was very good but the smell of the place was so bad I just about lost my appetite.
We came in at 3 PM on a Sunday with a group of 11 people for a special occasion. We had a nice time overall. The food wasn’t as good as my other experiences with Gino’s East. We felt the pizza was a little overdone. Overall, we still enjoyed ourselves.
Thanks Gino’s East for making my daughter’s first taste of deep dish Chicago pizza a great experience. She’s been talking about trying deep dish for weeks and you did not disappoint. Her sausage/bacon/pepperoni pizza was perfect and you were even able to scrounge up some carrots for a side. The roasted brussel sprouts were surprisingly good and my wife loved her minestrone soup. All around a great meal!
The TVs were so loud. Too loud to visit with my colleague.
The anti pasta salad were drowned in oil... way too much.
The pizza lacked cheese, light and the crust was very tough. It was ok.
The server who brought the food, delivered to the wrong table.
The Pilsner was not cold.
I had to ask for more water twice.
Kinda bummed, to be honest.
Food was good but there are several other Chicago establishments I would choose over Gino’s.
First visited Gino's in 1974, last visit before today was about 7 years ago.
Ambiance, bar none da best, love all the graffiti.
Pizza was just ok. I remember the buttery crust being a lot better, but the pan sausage was really good
Ginos is usually my favorite when I come into town but this time around was different. First, the staff up front was rude and not welcoming as I tried to check in for my reservation. Waiter came around every 20 minutes and forgot drinks, utensils, and food. The food was par at best with being semi warm. The waiter then messed up the three tickets at the end. Three times. It was not a good experience. I will go again, but it really put Ginos down on the list for me now.
I’m new to Chicago and have recently decided that deep dish is not for me. Gino’s East is the best deep dish I’ve had so far- I wouldn’t mind coming back here. It’s not fancy just causal pizza place- I would recommend for families and people visiting the city. bonus, you can make a reservation. something not all deep dish places let you do (cough cough Lou malnati’s).
They got us in after a short 10-15 minutes wait. Our pizza was cold, the toppings were very little. We also ordered chips and artichoke dip with was very dry and warm at best.
Haven’t had deep dish in forever but when in Rome...all the servers were wonderful and helped entertain my toddler. Pizza was yummy. Prices were a little steep but probably not out of the ordinary.
Pizza and salads were good, service was a bit slow for a Sunday night at 830pm. The restaurant was SO cold we could barely stand it. We asked if they could turn down the air but by the time it was, we were almost finished.
The service was extremely poor. We had to remind the waitress so many times for water. We had made a reservation yet had to wait for a table. The place was noisy. The pizzas took more than an hour to arrive. The pizzas were good but the overall experience destroyed the pizza taste.
BEST PIZZA IN CHICAGO! The cornmeal crust is AMAZING!!
We enjoyed our meal. Service and food were great! We had lunch there early in the day so can’t comment on bar ambiance.
I was in from out of town and the Lyft driver recommended Gino’s as one of the top deep dish options in the city. I was not disappointed.
Love it here! Great pizza! Great comedy!
