A quaint low-key spot, worked really well for a first post-lockdown date. The vibe was nice, the BBQ grill in the centre of the table was really cool, my lady loved it. The food was awesome, except for the prawns - which were on this occasion rather bland, the rest of the food was amazing, I’d definitely go back and recommend to friends who like Korean BBQ cuisine. The cocktails are great too.
Was a really nice restaurant... food was great and so was the customer service. And I would go to the restaurant again.
It was my birthday meal, as well as the first meal out since lockdown :) wonderful experience, good service, amazing food. Will definitely come back!
I visited the restaurant on July 19, 2020, 6:30 pm. It was my first experience with Korean food, and I really loved it! The waitress was polite, kind and really helpful. The bulgogi and its sauces tasted amazing, and the dessert was also really delicious. I also enjoyed the experience of barbequing on my table.
Highly recommended and a big thank you to the nice waitress for her helpful tips.
Feel comfortable for dining in during COVID-19, hand sanitizer, distance tables, staff wearing face cover. Thanks very much for giving as a safe place.
Seems like it needs a little TLC - arm rest by booths were a little sticky and general vibe could do with a little refresh but Great food as usual - sensational food!
Food was great, highly recommended.
Great food and ambience as usual. I just loved everything about here. Social Distancing tables were in place and hand sanitiser was available at the door
Have the cinnamon & ginger drink and finish with a honey plum tea! Food was excellent!
Well, where do I begin.
If you want to get locked in a restaurant and held against your will then this is a very immersive experience.
Firstly we were sat next to the waitresses communal area which meant there was a lot of unnecessary noise which prevented us from being able to relax into our own conversation.
When the first dish arrived it was like your local school dinner lady had slopped the portion on. No presentation skills.
We ordered the BBQ platter and when asked how it was marinaded I was told soy sauce??????? Really? Only soy sauce? But what also concerned me was the lack of meat quality it really made you question how long it had been sitting around for.
We also ordered the veg udon noodles which were extremely greasy with a strange after taste. We tried to explain this to the waitress who was quite happy to ignore us and walk off between cooking the meat. This confused us as we were expecting at least a conversation so we could understand how the process worked. You expect in customer service for the staff to actually have customer service skills. As a minimal.
Finally, we asked to speak to the manager. We explained we hadn't eaten the food but had drunk the wine and would therefore pay for the alcohol only. This then lead to her calling the owner who for some reason had to come in. At this point we were ready to leave and had been extremely amicable. We were refused the opportunity to pay for the alcohol and told to wait. I tried to leave where the manager proceeded to step in my path almost aggressively. I asked her to move and I got through to the entrance to find it had been locked?? It may seem dramatic but I don't usually go out on a Friday night to become an unknowing hostage??? Wouldn't say it's my cup of tea. Neither is there food apparently. Would NOT recommend.
I've been looking for a Korean BBQ place for a while now and finally stumbled upon Gogi.
4 of us went here and we ordered 11/12 items of food, every piece was exceptional. We ordered a wide range of food, from Kimchi Pancakes (the clear star of the show), Korean steak Tartar (exceptional) to L.A. Galbi (tender and sweet).
I will be coming back here and I will absolutely be bringing more people. Cooking our own food was brilliant fun and it was helped by the quality of the food.
If I had one complaint, it was simply that it was a little too dark in the restaurant and we had to use our phone torches to check on the food being cooked. Very minor.
Great atmosphere, very friendly. Good food and service would definitely go again.
A good restaurant for barbecue, fun with kids.
Service was just a bit off. We were constantly reminded that they closed at 11. Which was fine our table was for 8.30. The constant reminders put us on edge and didn’t make us feel welcome and made us rush. Which is not great
The food was absolutely amaaaazing, it tasted yummy yummy yummy yummy, I couldn’t decide which sauce was my favourite, the bbq or soy sauce, they were both so good. We ordered one of the bbq platters, there was so much meat the two of us couldnt finish it. The service was quick.
Very nice, delicious food, great price. Hospitable staff :)
The food was great although my friend has a nut intolerance and the waitress first told us his desert was nut free only to come back and say it had nuts in it.. would have been a massive issue if he was allergic!
Also they were quite quick to get us to leave by 9pm, we wanted to order more drinks but they wouldn’t let us
Food, drinks and service were all lovely! Especially the cocktails. Love using the table barbeque - great fun and a different experience! Only downside is that the room was quite cold and I wanted to keep my jacket on. Overall a really great experience and I will be back!
Food was great as always. However, we waited a long time for one starter, waited long for rest of order to be taken. This never happened
other times we've eaten here.
The restaurant can't control the noise, but two tables were competing to hear themselves.
Lovely food and excellent service! Thank you Gogi!
The food was absolutely delicious. However, we booked for 19:30 and only got to our table at 19:50 which is fine because it was very busy on Valentines Day but we did unfortunately have to wait outside in the cold which wasn’t ideal.
Service was extremely slow. Staff were very nice but only 2 people serving a packed restaurant. You need to hire more staff. We had to chase for every part of our meal, from drinks to bill which detracted from excellent food!.
A nice restaurant serving authentic korean cuisine. Been back a number of times last few years and the food quality and taste are consistent.
nice atmosphere, but the meat quality was a bit disappointing. The bibmap was outstanding!
Good food good vibes and good value money, been here more than once and I would defo go back
Really, really great corean restaurant. Perfect meat, veggies also. All of our meals were absolutely divine!
Had a lovely evening at Gogi, would definitely recommend!
Some of the reviews on here complained about the service, but I must say that we had a very pleasant evening and felt the staff were on the line between professional and friendly and weren’t rude in the slightest. Wouldn’t want this to discourage over diners from a great restaurant
Loved the food, been meaning to try this for a long time why oh why we didn’t come sooner! The food is delicious, so good
The bbq chicken is incredible. The service is not the best, because the waiters need to attend both customers eating at the restaurant, and take out delivery orders. Starters really good, try the Assorty Kimchi Set; it’s spicy and you’ll love it.
My family and I absolutely love this restaurant. The food and service are outstanding. My children, ages 11, 9, and 7, find the table top bbq cooking fascinating and delicious. There’s something for even the pickiest eaters on the menu.
Service was very poor today we had to keep requesting things. They didn’t clear our finished dishes we had to keep putting them on the next table. The bbq meats were dumped on the grill at the same time we asked for the chicken and beef to be cooked separately. They didn’t bring the sauces. The quality of the cooking was just very poor. We used to love Gogi but the quality of food and the service has sadly gone downhill for some reason.
Delicious food! A must visit, especially if you haven’t tried Korean bbq before.
Only one very bad point. One of the sauter was not able to tank english. When I assied for checking out, I had to do it 3 Times before somebody reacted
We found our new cosy and very tasty place next to home!
Had a day off from work to do some Christmas shopping in London which is a 4 hour round trip from my home, decided to go to this restaurant on route over a competitor as reviews seemed to be better... big mistake, had a call from the restaurant 5 minutes before our arrival to say they would only be open for an hour after our arrival, when we arrived we were the only customers, the restaurant was shabby and need of a renovation. 15 minutes into our 1 hour allocation I was asked if we wanted any more drinks as they were closing the bar! Food was average to say the least. Felt very uncomfortable. Would not recommend to anyone I know. We were there less than 30 minutes and cost me over £50 for lunch!
Food was excellent and the service was great
A very nice neighborhood restaurant. The food was nicely presented. We particularly enjoyed the kimchi and fried tofu.
Great food, but ended up being a lot of waiting for ordering and then for paying. Great service.
Has already recommended and brought a few friends there! always good and nice!
only issue is finding the place! But, it's worth it.
Too much noisy. Food expensive Staff not smilly Not possible to order dessert or coffee after the dîner because thé staff whant to close early thé restaurant
We booked by open table but thé don t want to accept my open table gift chèque.
