Extremely cool space, expensive drinks, but they were still good value for money.
Beautiful place, phenomenal view. We were treated very well and upgraded to table by the window when once became available, without having to ask
Bad service and lack of effort
Used to be an experience it’s now just an expensive cockatil place with good views
Everything was exceptional but obviously very expensive, glad I’ve experienced it. Staff were extremely helpful & polite
Absolutely amazing night out, well worth the price for the atmosphere and view of London
Amazing night. Great views.
Decent, but certainly not as good as I’d expected from the bar at the top of the Shard. Drinks were overpriced, which we expected due to the novelty and location, however choice of cocktails was small and quality of drinks wasn’t great. Service wasn’t top either; had to be coerced into coming back to us and taking an order for a second round of drinks despite our party being sat with empty glasses and looking through the menu for a good 10-15 mins (even though staff were stood around the till area, busy-ish but certainly not ran off their feet)
Overall; nice to say we’ve done it, but wouldn’t do it again.
This is a brilliant location with amazing views over London. Our server was Cristos and he was great. The food was delicious aswell.
Birthday drinks prior to dinner at Hutong. Next time we will dine there as the food looked excellent. Had no idea all this was going on at London Bridge ....what a hub of activity with tremendous atmosphere. What can I say about the views ....out of this world. The bar is run with warmth and efficiency. Drinks expensive but definitely worth paying for the experience. We will recommend to friends visiting London from overseas. They will be wowed.
Very poor and slow service. Over 20 minutes after ordering a drink to get one and the bar was less than half full
Great night out despite a horrible rainy night, the views are just spectacular, you just have to go to Gong. Service was lovely shame you can’t have table for longer
We had a lovely time at goal. Atmosphere was restrained and very pleasant, the views were outstanding, notwithstanding that it was a misty evening, and the staff were very helpful.
Yes! It’s somewhere to go for a touch off class. Your glass is never empty.
I took my sisters for drinks for their birthday - it was a lovely evening. All the staff were very attentive and service was smooth. Definitely an amazing spot for chill drinks,
As soon as we arrived at the bar we were reminded in a not-so subtle manner that we only had the table for 1.5 hours and told there was a minimum spend of £30 pp. However we knew there was no minimum spend as our visit was in their off-peak hours on a Sunday, as stated on the website. As a couple of our group don’t drink alcohol, this was important to us. Our drinks and the view was lovely. However as soon as 2 out of our group of 6 had finished their drinks, Another round of drinks was taken almost immediately - this felt rushed and pushy, with most of us ending up with 2 drinks at once. We were given another 30 minute warning on our table which was over the top and very unnecessary. Overall a nice location but felt too commercial and lacking some class.
Great views. Drinks a little underwhelming presentation-wise given the price.
The package offer was not was £169 but 190 after adding the tip for the service.I couldn’t deny tipping the service as it was the best part of the experience, Miguel, a Venezuelan fantastic guy who earned this tip because of his professional manners and charming attitude.
In any case this should be shown on your online booking
We didn’t eat here.
Drinks are needlessly expensive here. I understand why they charge so much for the specialist cocktails they serve, but £10 for a pint of lager or £16 for a glass of wine you gan get for half the price down the street is a bit ridiculous. The views are great if you get a table by the window. Staff were friendly and understanding of the fact that we were arrived late. Once a window table became available they offered it to us. A visit here should definitely be saved for a special occasion.
Grazie
Went for an anniversary surprise and it was the perfect spot. Great staff and service. There were no tables near the window available when we arrived but once people had left they came over and moved us to the perfect window view overlooking Tower Bridge. We had a fab view surrounded by luxury. The drinks were on the pricier side, but you are paying for the view and quality, so not an issue, would definitely recommend.
Came here for drinks. Was a lovely experience and would return again. Ofcourse prices are high but worth it for the views
Overall, it was neat to be at the top of the Shard, but the drinks were subpar for the price, and extremely small. Glad we went once, but wouldn't go back, or probably even recommend it.
Amazing cocktail/drink selection!! Fantastic view!
We felt very special on arrival, and waisted no time using the lift to the 52nd floor. The views were outstanding and so was the service. We asked to move tables to a window seat, and this was accommodated with do fuss. A memorable hour and a half was had with good friends. I would recommend the Experience as very good.
Nice location, good food, cocktails were okay. Staff was very pleasant.
It’s an experience but very overpriced for what it is.
We purchased a champagne and sushi platter for 2. The champagne and location along with view was fantastic but unfortunately the platter for 2 consisted of 2 pieces of fish and 2 dumplings each. I didn’t expect plates and plates to arrive but 4 mouthfuls was a little on the stingy side.
The bar is very small and the view was blocked so I coulndt enjoy the view. The pool was closed during te day for hotel guests. I actualy wanted to make a picture with the pool. But its only open for guest on friday and saturday after an certain time! I was there at 2 o clock in the afternoon...
I have been to Gong bar before and it was excellent then.
This time I went at 3.30pm on a half term holiday.
It was really busy and although the staff were really nice, my food did not arrive after 1 hour and i had to chase it up. I ordered a second drink which just did not arrive. It was difficult to catch the eye of staff and I ( and my family) felt quite ignored. It was a special occasion and i feel bad for taking them there now, as it was such an anti-climax.
Spectacular views. Spectacular service. Spectacular cocktails.
Drinks were super pricey - but the views made it worth it.
It’s a tick off you bucket list event.
I visited Gong a few times last year because magnificent views. Drinks are OK and food is good but extremely expensive (limited offer). Service is poor. It takes long, not very friendly and stupid ‘in house rules’. E.g. no coffee or hot drinks unless you order the afternoon tea arrangement... one of us wanted a coffee, didn’t get one but the table next to ours did get a coffee...
On 3 previous occasions I requested a window seat. There was one avaliable but we didn’t get it.
This was my final visit.
The main reason to go to Gong is obviously the view from above and the location in the Shard.
As you can imagine, drinks are overpriced and you only get few complimentary nibbles (peanuts, olives).
They don't book tables by the window, which we had requested on OpenTable in "special requests": they should specify in the booking form what table you're booking. They have a waiting list and they move you to the tables by the window as soon as other customers leave.
This is the only annoying side, that you're seated in a table in the central part of the bar, with very uncomfortable stools and you don't know when you will be moved.
My suggestion would be to, at least, replace the uncomfortable stools with the armchairs, as mostly parties of two people sit at the window tables on the couch and don't use the armchairs.
Some rude staff. Others were helpful. Obviously beautiful views
Lovely bar, excellent view and amazing staff, will definitely return
Really good food great views of the city nice atmosphere would recommend a friend
