The food was incredible, well presented and extremely tasty, good value for money. Service seemed a little rude/blunt at times.
This restaurant never disappoints the food was again excellent. My wife really enjoyed her scallops and my game stew was tasty, well presented and full of the different game flavours.
As per usual, a wonderful meal in a fantastic fish restaurant. Never fails to disappoint. Great food, wine and company. A great meal was had by all. Thank you.
This has been our favourite restaurant for decades - since it opened. The quality of cuisine is, in my opinion, unrivalled for miles. The menu is designed with mouthwatering flavour combinations in mind & Adam's cooking is absolutely outstanding. The portions may not seem over generous to some, but when the flavours, textures & seasoning are so expertly combined, it's all about quality over quantity & I always feel 'just right' rather than stuffed at the end of the meal. I also feel much happier than when I arrived. Cuisine like this is a form of medicine!
We've been here as a couple or with family many times and have never been disappointed. Good food good service. The portion sizes aren't too big, perfect amount to satisfy the appetite.
Lovely, beautifully presented food, prepared in their open kitchen for all to see. Attentive service.
Perfect for our anniversary.
In a word, 'outstanding'. Adam Goodfellow is a superbly consistent chef. His tasting menu is excellent value, with a wonderful variation of fish. In many years of visiting we have never been disappointed.
This was our first visit, following a recommendation on a miserable wet evening. Lovely buzzing atmosphere, with friendly knowledgeable staff. The food was sublime and reasonably priced. We will return.
This is the third time recently that we have had lunch at Goodfellows and every time the food, service and value for money has been excellent. House wine excellent as well. Would definitely recommend going there.
Visited for lunch. Waiter was friendly, attentive and efficient. Starters were beautifully presented and of exceptional quality, the tuna carpachio being especially noteworthy. Standard was maintained for the main course where both the Brill and Gurnard were delicious and looked amazing. After that the sweet might have been a disappointment, but wasn't! Great value too. Highly recommended.
For my husband and myself, my visit to Goodfellows, Wells, was a big disappointment. The Roast Pork, which should have been lean meat, as the crackling was a side dish, was extremely fatty. Roast potatoes did not taste as they should do and some of the vegetables were undercooked. I ordered the vegetable bake which were a few undercooked, tasteless chopped up vegetables swimming in a watery sauce all at a cost of £11.00? The dessert duly arrived and looked appetising. However, the pudding ordered was meant to be a rich, creamy and biscuity cheesecake. Instead it was tasteless and mousse like with a sparse and soggy biscuit undercarriage. The service was not exceptional and had us waiting unnecessarily at times, though the staff were helpful and friendly. I am not usually such a harsh critic of restaurant food which, in the main, I find good but felt obliged to be honest on this occasion. Goodfellows was the worst experience I have ever encountered. The cost of the meal was more expensive than most of the other restaurants I frequent and certainly nowhere was it worth the cost. I am sorry, folks, but this is one restaurant I cannot recommend.
Food as always excellent! Service just right. Portions seem on the small side but when eaten are just right.
My husband and I had just a light lunch but would definitely visit again, maybe for an evening meal or Sunday lunch. It was excellent.
Very good Sunday lunch , not rushed , good friendly service, will definitely return
We booked in here for our anniversary meal as my wife doesn't eat meat and we both enjoy good fish. We were not disappointed as every course was superb, as was the service. It wasn't cheap, but it was excellent value for money. We will return when next in the area.
We went to the restaurant for the seafood dishes and were delighted with the range on offer. We both had the Hake, unusually served on a bed of houmous and roast vegetables which worked really well. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Very good food & service, pleaent surroundings & ambenience
Excellent food and service. Good wine list and nice to sit and see the food being prepared.
As always the food is fresh and very well cooked. The service is friendly and efficient.
Creative and interesting menu with good wine in a quiet, comfortable setting and good service. Excellent !
This is a brilliant place to eat. We are never disappointed by the food. It is always delicious, and beautifully presented.
Goodfellows never disappoints - the food is always excellent, the Staff are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is perfect. Best place to eat in Somerset, by far.
By chance, our one day in Wells was Bastille Day, and the set menu suited us perfectly. The "gluten-Free" member of our party was delighted with her special option. Finally, amongst the house wines a wonderful Southern France Pinot Noir was outstanding value.
Superb food as always! A pleasure to eat fresh and well-presented dishes.
Outstanding food as usual, expertly cooked and presented.
We look forward to our visits. Never fails. Food is innovative and imaginative. Outstanding value all round which makes for a wonderful dining occasion.
Food was outstanding in every course. Waitresses very attentive and friendly. Nice quiet, intimate restaurant at lunchtime.
Had the gazpacho and scallops, and absolutely loved every bite. Will continue coming here in the future!
Fantastic food and service! Absolutely wonderful! Can’t wait to go back. The confit duck was delicious and the chocolate walnut cake was out of this world!
Great discovery. Superb cooking, inventive with top quality ingrédients. All for a very reasonable price.
Brilliant evening fantastic food and service I would recommend to anyone who appreciates fine dining
Service cool to start, but did improve.
The place is rather run down and needs some TLC, old fashioned decor. More like a cafe than a fine dining restaurant.
Food ok, not memorable. Very expensive for what we had, 2 courses, 2 glasses of wine and a Diet Coke came to just over £70 without tip. The scallop starter was very small. We ate at lunch time. Definitely not value for money.
I wouldn’t return or recommend.
The £11 lunch is great value- delicious fish cake with a glass of house wine then a beautiful patisserie.
Excellent seafood and other choices! Warm and friendly welcome and brilliant service! A true favourite! And I love watching Adam Fellows cook. A must if you haven't been there yet!
Just so helpful. Wonderful food and marvellous service
Excellent choice of dishes. The scallops were fresh, tasty and reasonably priced - cooked superbly.
We had good food, excellent service, a pleasant ambiance, really all we could want for an enjoyable evening out.
Delicious food and attentive staff. A lovely atmosphere.
This French Bistro-style restaurant had a reassuringly limited Sunday menu with some imaginative looking choices. The vegetarian options were very tasty but the duck was disappointingly tough. The service was efficient though not particularly warm or welcoming and there appeared to be only one choice of white wine available which is unacceptable these days. I thought this was a fairly average and pricey meal overall.
We had a lovely lunch and a thoroughly enjoyable time. The food and the service were as much as anyone could ask for.
