Have been here many times for lunch and dinner but went pre theatre last week. Slightly different experience. Food and drink were still very good but something was missing - probably the normal buzz as the restaurant was not as busy as usual so staff were so much more "in your face" than normal.
Great quality food and good atmosphere with tables not too close to each other.
been here many times and will continue to do so - great food, service and location
Great all round steak restaurant but partner got serious neck problem from inappropriate ly placed air blower. Spoiled an otherwise perfect evening.
As always, perfect steak, great sides, and attentive service!
Another great Goodmans restaurant, top quality food and service. The most delicious steak we’ve ever had and chips to die for ! Consistently good, every time we go, long may it continue.
They always look after us, great food, ambience and the staff are very friendly and helpful oh and the wine choice fantastic!
Great meat, nice ambiance. We were lucky that they were open on a Saturday, happy that we made it at the end. Would do this steak house again for sure!
Excellent service. Spectacular steak. Best meal for a long time.
Always realiable and enjoyable. Excellent steaks and the happiest and loveliest waitress who was really attentive and cheered up our day
There is no doubt that London is an expensive city and you pay for location and you pay for quality of restaurant etc.....I get all that!!, but there comes a point particularly if you are paying for it privately that 4 glasses of wine, 2 starters and 2 steaks at £176 (no matter how good the steaks are) is just too much. No complaint about anything else. Really nice place!
Not nearly as good as the original off of Picadilly. A bit loud. A bit cavernous. Lots of honking stag dos and no background music. Also, the air conditioning was blasting, despite it being mid October.
The T-Bone was just amazing
Really good atmosphere and the staff was very friendly
Very traditional City restaurant with comfy seating and dark wood panelling. The night we went it was mainly groups of men having business dinners, but it's a welcoming venue for all. Food was delicious, my steak was cooked to perfection and the extra touch of a birthday cupcake as it was a celebratory meal was perfect after all that protein.
Great service, great food and great atmosphere as always.
Fantastic as always. Great steak, great wine, great service
The greatest place in the City of London for a steak as big as your head. Not cheap but carnivores heaven.
Great experience and excellent service. I spent a very pleasant lunch, thanks⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great food as always, but ended up with a terrible waiter.
Great food, service and atmosphere . Great place to catch up with friends
Was really looking forward to Goodman as I'd heard great things. Reception was great and the waiting staff very attentive. I was a little disappointed with the steak. It was a little over cooked and wasn't as tender as I'd have expected for the cut of meat.
This sits at the upper end of the steakhouse scale and whilst the food was good, it wasn't exceptional. My main pain point about the restaurant is that the seating is rather cramped - a table for four (with four people) feels tight, not only with the space on the table, but also with regards to elbow room when seated. Moreover, tables are very close to one another making getting into and out of your seat feel like some sort of escape-routine.
Nice food but for the price, I'd expect a little bit more comfort in the seating.
Visited with old friend. Chose Canadian beef by recommendation. Very soft and juicy!
The menu offered several choices for cuts of beef. The steaks were excellent. Drink menu was good, too.
Really fabulous service and an outstanding meal
Great steak and great service. Excellent for city dining.
Good really good
Phenomenal food and service!
I took my girlfriend to Goodman's for our anniversary, as we fancied a good steak dinner.
We were not disappointed: we were warmly welcomed at the entrance, our coats and bags stored in the cloakroom and were shown to our table.
The waiter took great care to explain the different options for beef cuts and helped us with the wine list, even allowing us to try 4 of the wines (served by the glass).
The meat was perfect: texture, flavour and temperature. The side dishes were very good as well (chips, mash, creamed spinach).
To top it all off, when we asked for the bill, it took a little longer and we were surprised to see that the waiter had prepared for us a chocolate cake and ice cream dish with 'Happy Anniversary' written in chocolate!
All in all, dining at this restaurant was a wonderful experience: perfect food and outstanding service. Will be going back soon!
Fantastic food and great service!!
I was there on a Wednesday night with a friend for a catch-up. Everything was good especially the service from our Irish waitress. The only disappointment - and probably a fairly significant one for a steak restaurant - was that a lot of the “cuts” from the special menu had already gone by the time we were ordering (not exactly late - our booking was 7pm). We chose a 750g USDA T-bone in the end (the porterhouses had all gone as had the more specialised cuts). I wouldn’t say either of us are massive eaters - I’ve struggled with a 400g fillet in the past - but we both felt we could’ve eaten the whole thing to ourselves without too much of a push (heavy bone?!). As it was there was enough food with the bread, starters, sides and the steak so it was no big deal in the context of the evening. The creme brûlée dessert was particularly good (I’m not generally a big dessert fan). The steak itself was nicely cooked so maybe the lesson is to go early next time, or order from the standard menu?!
Great night celebrating a 35 Birthday. Staff were knowledgeable about the meat products, and made the evening special
Having frequented other steak restaurants of a similar nature I decided to book our annual FGS dinner somewhere different but with all members of our society loving steak there was one place we had to experience.
So off to Goodman's we went and started the night with a selection of gins. Once at the table we were presented with the specials board which our waitress ran through and explained fully.
We settled on a variety of steaks across the table with varied sides to share. Not too shabby so far.
The wine that we chose was by no means top price but I would consider it a bit pricey compared to other restaurants where the selection was of equal variance.
The whole experience was great and the food was top notch but with the pricey wine and considerable service charge for a table of four, the whole meal was very expensive.
I would recommend you go, but be warned and make sure you're not close to your credit card limit.
Fantastic steak, best in the City
Great place for steak and wine. Had a wonderful evening, service was impeccable, all staff were friendly and helpful.
It is expensive but to be expected in the City.
Great! Best steakhouse
As per usual - The most amazing meat you will ever have, cooked to perfection each time. I've been here multiple times and its just fantastic food. The price is always a bit steep but you get what you pay for.
Excellent food, great venue, pretty punchy on the £££
Amazing as always
