Had a great meal with excellent service at a fair price. Will be back!
Food was excellent as was the service
Went to celebrate a birthday and did not disappoint! Excellent food and phenomenal service. Beautiful outdoor seating.
I was a bit surprised to discover this is a Hilton restaurant in a Hilton property. The on-line information seemed to indicate it was a well respected Italian restaurant. When we arrived and saw it was in the Hilton Garden Inn we almost left. But we ended up being pleasantly surprised. Still, it is a bit dishonest to not mention the Hilton affiliation on-line.
We dined outside. First and foremost, we were informed we could choose any table we wished. We chose one not yet cleaned. When no effort was made by the staff to clean the table, we began to brush-off the crumbs etc ourselves. Still no offer was made to clean the table. And, we were seated at a table not washed. Not good! I rarely have ever experienced this level of service, even in local pubs.
I started with caesar salad, but later had to change my order when informed that the kitchen was out of anchovies. My entree (scallops) was fair taste-wise and the side was good. However, the amount of polenta served was minimal. Our waiter was friendly and performed well.
Clearly Grapp's "A Team" had the night off.
Very bad bartender. Couldn't make 2 different types of martinis we ordered. Food was good. Not exceptional. Come on, its Italian food. Not that hard to make Bolognese.
It took almost an hour to get one drink from the bar... fine, it was then comped. But then our dinner arrived almost 45 minutes later. We ordered a burger and a vegetarian dish, arguably the easiest dishes to make! I will say they apologized and gave us a percentage off, and my date and I were enjoying catching up. That said, it was pretty awful service and the food was overpriced for what we got.
place was a bit too noisy for me and my husband but the food was good
Accommodated our request for quiet seating. Server was very attentive. Food excellent. Will return !
Sad how far this place has gone - from a favorite destination to never going back.
Service has declined woefully, the food served doesn’t match the menu’s description, just disappointing all around.
Food and service was great. Not a fan of the tables / bench seating. A very noisy place for the $.
Great food and service
Cocktails were served after a very long wait.
The appetizers were not piping hot.
Portion are very healthy.
Needed to be in and out in a short time for a meeting. The server took the order and had the food on the table in a short amount of time. She also came quickly with the bill. And as usual the food was delicious.
Bar tender does not know how to make drinks. I asked twice for a vodka soda that had flat soda. A pretty basic thing without success. It’s easy to detect flat soda for obvious reasons.
When Grappa first opened a few years back it was excellent- service- food- drinks / we often brought friends here-but after about a nine months to year it lost some of luster...changes to the menu, some items not available every meal, staffing was off on occasion- so we took a break and came back a lot less.
The food is good and the service is good- but not special - so it’s lost its place as destination and is just a better than average restaurant.
Have dined at Grappa's twice and both times the food and service were excellent. Chef Nick Moretter doesn't just prepare food, he performs miracles with his delectable creations.
I have already spread the word on awesome Grappa is. The service was awesome, the ambiance and decor was great and food was outstanding. The presentation and taste of the food was delicious. I have shared our experience with other co-workers and family. It is definitely a place we will visit again. Kudos to the Chef, Owners and Staff! We look forward to going back again and again.
We had a wonderful time at Grappa. Food & service were excellent.
Not quite sure where I needed to start on the menu with traditional appetizers with a little twist. The wedding soup was a good flavor starter with the meatballs and escarole giving lots of flavor. All the pasta options made it difficult to order any of the other items. Bolognese, gnocchi, carbonara and linguini w clam were all on point. Yes we all ordered something different so we could sample.
The pancetta on the gnocchi made me forget about not liking Brussels sprouts.
While I normally don’t touch bread I had to try the special basalmic dip.
We had a great evening
The food was overall ok but the burger that my husband got was burnt even though he asked for medium rare.
Still a good place to go to for dinner.
Sat outside, Great night with family. Service and food was awesome, will go back again.
Outdoor patio seating on a beautiful Rochester day transports you to a European cafe. After trying to get outdoor seating at a Park Ave restaurant, I thought of Grappa and am so glad I did! The quiet calm of Grappa vs. the hustle'n'bustle of Park Ave was absolutely what my friend and I wanted to catch up on her wedding plans and celebrate her upcoming nuptials.
Our server was Tim. He was very attentive and gave us plenty of time for our group of 4 women to chat, catch up, then order our drinks and food. He checked on us making sure all was well. Thanks Tim !
Very nice place! Overall food was good. our Wedding Soup had sand/grit in the greens which was a bit off putting, but it tasted great otherwise. Meatball and GF spaghetti were delicious except way too much red sauce. Next time we will ask for less. GF pizza amazing. Bar drinks were great and good prices. Thanks Grappa - we'll be back next time we're in Rochester!
The gnocchi I had was great. Other in the party was satisfied but didn’t rave about their choice. We all liked the ambience and decor.
Early seating, comfortable environment great wine selection and variety of entrees.
Had a great overall experience with Grappa. While confirming my reservation, they inquired of food restrictions and allergies which I was very impressed with. upon arrival we found the atmosphere to be a little louder than we anticipated, but the hostess was kind enough to move our table outside away from the large group of people. the food was excellent and would highly recommend the short ribs. Service was excellent. We were really able to enjoy our time there.
Our appetizers, entrees and desserts were all beautifully presented and were delicious. Service was excellent.
Great food and service. Wine list is perfect for the italian neuvou menu. We will be back.
We were seated promptly. The server was attentive, but not constantly at the table. The food was mostly good. The calamari was a bit on the salty side and their take on tiramisu was okay, but not as good as a traditional tiramisu in my opinion. Overall, it was a nice location and good value for the price.
My daughter wanted to eat at Grappa after graduation day at SUNY Geneseo. There was nothing available 2.5 hours either way from the 6pm time we wanted. I took a chance and called Grappa and the manager and staff there were able to fit us in at 5:45. We arrived and were immediately seated and the atmosphere was very NY City like. Loved the place! Besides the incredible food (everything from bread, appetizers and entrees) the waitstaff were very attentive and the timing of food was spot on. I had the linguine with clams and it was delicious! My wife and I both commented even on how nice and clean the bathrooms were. A big thank you to Grappa for making our graduation dinner a memorable experience!!
We were celebrating my daughters graduation from brockport. The waitstaff was awesome. Our waiter gave great food suggestions, was available when needed and super friendly. The food was excellent.
Make Mother’s Day reservation well in advance-check✔️
Arrive 10+ minutes early-check✔️
Then wait for almost an hour after original reservation time to be seated. Then listen to various staff members change the story as to what happened to our reserved table. Thanks for “comping” the apps & desserts...of course the items we wanted to order had already sold out...maybe an hour or so earlier?
As my school-aged children slept on our now very-late-night trip home, I kept thinking of a Seinfeld episode...Grappa certainly knows how to take the reservation, it just has not learned how to keep it.
Very nice restaurant. Pleasant surprise. High quality food priced reasonably for the quality.
Waited 15 minutes for table, understandable due to Mother’s Day, however had to sit at a high top table in the bar, vs a normal table even though we had a reservation..
The food was great and service was amazing!
Food was excellent. Would recommend to go and have dinner
