Greens is an excellent choice for vegetarians, with enough vegan options. The location and the views are one-of-a-kind.
Beautiful view of the bay while lunching on excellent seasonal food with a very knowledgeable server. The highlights for us were the spring rolls and the lemon Myers cheese cake but nothing disappointed us.
I always loved Green’s and, until the pandemic, dined there frequently. However, the restaurant has not been the same since its kitchen fire. They must have lost their chef. Sunday’s meal was really sad. The grilled artichokes were tough and almost tasteless. The stem had not even been peeled. My asparagus pizza was nothing like the old version, really a disappointment. Both it and my husband’s briyani had substituted heat for flavor. I am so sad, but I will not go back. Had the meal been good, I would not complain about the cost, but $200 before tip seems high with one couple splitting an entree and only 2 drinks and 2 desserts. Really, this is a big loss to San Francisco’s dining scene.
Unmatched in quality, taste, location and service!
Great use providing the 50% usage. Manager was very attentive. good circulation with the windows open and of course the view is stunning.
We learned we could split some choices and agree the value is certainly there. The cauliflower salad was just outstanding. thank you so much.
The ambience of the previous Green’s is gone. At 50% indoor seating the service was slow and lacking any sparkle.
Wonderful vegetarian food. Helpful, polite, unobtrusive service. Bay views
Food Delicious. Service Great. Just needed background music for white noise and distraction from other diners. Otherwise, everything was perfect
best vegetarian restaurant in SF.. best view nicest staff.
Most delightful Sunday breakfast!
You can never go wrong with a meal at Greens. The outdoor space is nice but because it was a windy day, we asked to be seated inside. It's nice and airy with good distancing between tables. Heads up, you can only stay at your table for 90 minutes. :)
After all these year, still the best!!! When we think of SF , Greens springs to top of mind!
Excellent Menu to select from
Old customer from when Greens first opened
Greens makes creative, tasty dishes that never disappoint. We had the spring rolls, the yuca, the tacos and the red curry and each dish was amazing! Their outside seating is nice but the wind can pick up and make it chilly so bring layers. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful with views of the Bay.
Both indoor and outdoor dining were available, each with tables spaced out. The food was delicious. The service was fast but friendly. The view of the water and boats was beautiful and calm.
Service was a little slow and not always with a smile. Like they were annoyed we were asking for stuff. Eventually we got what we asked for. For the most part it was really great. Love GREENS, it's a classic that is in my list of places to always to go in SF.
The food was straight forward and delicious.
Service was terrible. Our waiter was not familiar with the menu. He also was not able to cover his section to anyone’s satisfaction. I heard complaints from all tables in my section.
Why, why, why do restaurants continue to let people bring their dogs? The two dogs that were sitting in my section were not service animals, just pets along for the ride. One dog did not stop barking my entire meal. It also jumped on a toddler as his parents were putting him in his stroller. The parents did not appreciate it at all by the looks on their faces.
I was there to eat and enjoy my afternoon. We definitely rushed through our meal and skipped a lot of things the menu had to offer because of the noise caused by the dogs and the people who brought their animals.
Take out from now on. This place used to be a really great place to enjoy a bite of delicious food with exceptional service.
I can pick up a to go order and go to my local animal shelter if I want service that is non existent and a bunch of yapping dogs.
Excellent vegetarian menu and delicious cuisine, eaten inside the Greens restaurant, which overlooks the Golden Gate Bridge. A beautiful evening!
There were 2 tables who got their food orders before us even after arriving after us. We got our order after a wait of 40+ mins. And the pizza given was cold. When the server came to know if we enjoying the meal, we told her about the pizza and she was like let me see what I can do. And then someone else again came to hear the exact same thing again. This is not a date experience I ever imagined.
Green's still offers an excellent menu, creatively vegetarian. Unfortunately despite booking ahead we had the worst seat in the house, very uncomfortable seating and not close to the nice view out the window. I was glad to see that it is still popular however, so that's the good news.
Went with friends for brunch. You must get the strawberry scones and the cheddar and chive biscuits!
A windy day but outside seating still fine, heat lamp nearby, quite comfy.
For the first time ever, 3 of the items ordered did not compare to the wonderfully tasty meals we have always had at Greens.
The roasted artichoke was not eatable, as the leaves indeed out-roasted the meat; the cauliflower salad was really a frisee salad with a little roasted cauliflower, rather than a roasted cauliflower salad with a little frisee. The asparagus pizza, while noted it had chili flakes, was too hot for one of the sharing diners.
The black bean chili was, as always TERRIFIC, as was the service and view.
...just don't know what happened...
Great meal! Service was excellent and server had great recommendations. Food was all incredible. Very reasonably priced. View would be great if we had gone during daylight hours of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Delicious vegetarian food, with enormous portions that are good for sharing. Our strawberry mixed green salad, Pasta with Gorgonzola sauce and Pea Shoots were wonderful, as was the Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Cake. Menu changes monthly for the seasons. Beautiful Marina/Bay views and great food at reasonable prices. They are following all the Covid protocols and cleanliness is apparent. The waiter was attentive and recommended some dishes for us, at our request. We will return to sample the different months!
We are inside. Tables were all well spaced. All staff wore masks. Felt very safe. Food was delicious and service friendly. Service slowed down later in the meal because staff was overwhelmed. They are just getting back to inside service. The kinks will get figured out. We enjoyed our meal.
Customer service was tremendous. Very warm friendly accommodating. The food was delicious. It was so wonderful to be back here after so long during lockdown. Thank you.
Excellent vegetarian and vegan choices very well prepared and presented. Very fresh ingredients. The location is amazing.
The outdoor seating was not well heated. Our waiter was not good. Most the food was good but pizza was awful
Great restaurant! Great view and amazing food. Would highly recommend.
Used OpenTable Rewards to make reservation but the $25 gift card was not honored. The server said manager that restaurant does not participate even though restaurant was listed on the rewards program. The gift card was MasterCard so they could have just ran it like a regular credit card.
Wonderful as always ... great outdoor space
excellent healthy food with great views of the bay
As always such good food! We sat outside and the waitstaff brought heat lamps over when we asked.
Just lovely! Exactly the experience I would have wanted it to be in terms of food, customer service and ambience.
Food was great and it’s always a pleasure to eat there!
While we missed the soothing ambience and spectacular views of Greens' interior, they have created a well spaced and comfortable outside dining area. And, despite the challenges of outdoor dining, they maintained their usual excellent standards for both food and service.
The food is always on point. I am vegan so I highly appreciate that Greens could veganize their vegetarian dishes. It’s different dining outdoors because of COVID-19 but once again the food is always amazing.
Fantastic food and service! One of the gals dining with us is a on strict diet and our server was able to help her order something that fit within her diet. She was the best!
Still great food although the breeze can be chilly
