Had dinner here last Sunday. The staff were very pleasant and the food was fantastic. It was without doubt one of the best Curries I have other had. The Chef came to speak to us personally to check if we enjoyed our meals. I would highly recommend the Gurcha Restaurant to other diners.
We were in Paignton at a sailing event and wanted to get away from the noise of the sailing club. Everything about the diner was spot on.
Will definitely return soon excellent lovely food good staff and overall lovely.
The food is lovely, good style would definitely recommend
Amazing food and lovely staff who are proud of their cooking... try momo dumplings & the Nepalese lamb flavours are amazing can't wait too go again!!!
We had only eaten a takeaway meal from here before, but decided to invite friends to join us for a restaurant meal. We were not disappointed.
The restaurant is situated upstairs above a fish and chip shop and is reached via a well-worn staircase. The restaurant itself is fairly basic but clean.
The restaurant menu presented was quite comprehensive but by no means as full as the takeaway menu, especially in respect of the meat/fish options for the curries. We soon found out that we could mix and match between the two. With so many choices, both Nepalese and Indian, a strength guide may have encouraged us to choose something less familiar.
The restaurant was not full; this was probably because the location was not conducive to passing trade. Nonetheless it was constantly busy due to a high volume of takeaway orders.
The food was superb. Flavours were both strong and subtle as required and portion sizes were generous (we ended up with "doggie bags").
We shall certainly pay another visit and our friends have already booked to take relatives there.
Food was immaculate......nuff said!! Restauarant tucked away down side street which is always good for me personally.
Excellent food. Would definitely go back. Food was very tasty and atmosphere was also great.
WE had a really tasty meal which was served quickly and hot, the waiter asked if we were ready for our main course or wanted to wait a few minutes which was nice. Quick, friendly service in a relaxing atmosphere.
Great dinner. Asked what would be the most authentic Napalese dish and thus had the chicken on the bone which was delicious. Great dumplings. Good Nepalese beer & friendly staff. Looks unprepossessing from the exterior but light & airy in the restaurant upstairs. Really recommend it.
Excellent authentic food and plenty of it with a great choice, will definitely book here again when we are in the area. Thank you.
The food was ok but very pricey in comparison to other restaurants that offer a much nicer ambiance.
Enjoyed a nice meal here. Nice choice. Reasonable prices. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Drinks a little expensive but that's normal with Indian restaurants. Would return
We had a lovely family get-together here. The service was very good and the food delicious and very reasonably priced. A very pleasant experience.
We ate here while on holiday it's a must for anyone in paington fantastic food
We booked this restaurant to celebrate our 40th wedding Anniversary as we were on holiday in Paignton. Having eaten here 2 years ago we loved the food. On arrival we were seated quickly and efficiently and the waiter remembered our special occasion and had the Prosecco I ordered ready chilled. The food was as delicious as we remembered from previous visits and we had a lovely evening. What made it extra special was the commemorative mugs the restaurant had made especially for us.,
Excellent food, large portions and very good service from the staff.
We arrived on quiet Monday evening after prebooking a 7 oclock table for two.Never before having tried Nepalese food we were unsure of what too expect .The food was excellent ,really tasty,a lovely surprise. The waiter was very attentive and did his best too make the experience pleasurable . Would certainly recommend trying this restaurant.
Went here with relatives from Australia. Food was good and hot, and plenty of it. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had a terrific tandoori. Asked for the chicken off the bone, and this was accepted. Staff gladly bagged up any leftovers to take home. A little on the pricey side, but all in all a great meal.
Not impressed with food, Nepalese starter not good and overpricef, curry nothing special. wished we had gone to the Indian instead butbthought Nepalese soubded different.
We had a great time and the food was delicious. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again.
We were the only 3 in the restaurant the evening we went. So the service was very good/ friendly. The decor could do with an up date along with the washroom facilities. The food was very average.
Very attentive staff and food good. We made the mistake of ordering two similar meals which in fact turned out to be almost identical whereas we like to experience different flavours and share curries.
Offered complimentary drink on way out which was a nice gesture.
Well worth a visit.
The taste of the food was really tasty. All the meats and fish were tender and moist. Much better than typical Indian. Outside doesn't look very appealing. But well worth going upstairs.
Will definitely come back.
We have eaten here before and also experienced a takeaway. Absolutely brilliant. Food tasty, staff v friendly. Overall a fantastic meal.
The quality of the food is amazing. Excellent menu with amazing dishes. Try the Momos there are incredible. Go you won't be disappointed
Great food and impeccable service. I'll definitely be going back!
