Hakkasan Hanway Place
Hakkasan Hanway Place is the original Hakkasan restaurant. This Michelin starred Chinese restaurant was designed by the famed Christian Liaigre, the intricate wooden lattice screens, carved out of dark English oak, invite discerning guests for a unique dining experience with contemporary cuisine from Chef Tong Chee Hwee. The menu has a strong Chinese ethnic identity with an ethos of Cantonese cooking.
Hakkasan Hanway Place launched ‘Dim Sum Sundays’ in 2013. Priced at £58 or £62 per person, Dim Sum Sundays is a weekly lunch event with music from Hakkasan lounge DJs, available every Sunday from 12pm until 6.30pm.
The £62 menu includes a cocktail from Hakkasan’s award-winning list to start, followed by a half bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier Champagne per person ( or a Magnum per 4 guests) and concludes with a digestive cocktail to enjoy with dessert.
Please note that the 'Taste of Hakkasan' menu is not available on 14th February.

Great food and still a funky atmosphere. Would benefit from some sensibly priced wines by the glass
Had the Pre Theatre set menu - great value for money, portions were a perfect size - not much choice on the menu but the dishes tasted very nice.
Molto particolare, cucina interessante . Lo consiglio.
We booked the pre theatre special on Open Table and were seated on arrival, before a rude waiter told us we couldn't have the pre theatre menu as it didn't say this on our reservation. He then made me show him the booking confirmation on my phone and as it didn't state pre theatre menu he basically said we can't have it. My friend and I got up to leave, but a lovely lady on front desk heard about this and made sure we got our seats and the deal we wanted. Great. Sadly the service was terrible. Aside from one lovely waitress who was attentive whenever she saw us, we were pretty much ignored for 90 mins. We ordered wine and I practically finished my main by the time the glass of wine arrived. Another male server was great and he took the drinks off the bill as a goodwill gesture but sadly I won't be going back again. The food was fairly bland and average considering the prices they charge, portions were small and the service was shocking. Lighting was so dim I could barely read the menu. I expected so much more from a Michelin starred restaurant.
This place has lost its way. The food is good as you'd expect. But there is no value for money here. The experience has also got very old and tired. Went on a Wednesday lunch time and it was super dead. Go to the sister restaurant Yauatcha. It's cheaper, value for money, food is as good, exciting and buzzy atmos.
Every bit of this dinner was an amazing experience. We were visiting London and wanted a fancy dinner out. Our 5 and 7 year old daughters joined us and the staff could not be more engaging to them as well as us. Impeccable service all around. Food was amazing and brilliant presentation! Our cocktails were handcrafted and they have many non alcoholic fresh fruit drinks. If you are looking for a special night out, we highly recommend! You will not be let down.
Chinese cuisine is normally lower on my list than most but i found the restaurant lively with a good atmosphere and excellent service. I also found the food superb.
Awesome experience! The set provided at 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. is so cheap for tasting such scrumptious food! (only 30 pounds)
Excellent food, great lunch @ Dim Sum Sunday. Worth the drive.
With a cool blue theme running throughout, the restaruant is underground (though doesn't feel like it) down a back alley off Tottenham Court Road. The alley is fairly dingy looking, and it is entirely unexpected to find a michelin starred restaurant at the end.
The dim sum Sunday menu is fantastic, and you should leave 90-120 minutes to enjoy it. The cocktails are good also. Great for a date, birthday or special occasion.
Food is always amazing here. Around my twentieth visit in the past 5 years. I go every birthday. Service is amazing. Team always go out of their way to accommodate. This t Me making plain noodles for the 7 year old with us. Have tried premium tasting menu to standard one. Love dim sum Sunday which also comes with 2 cocktails each and half a bottle of champagne per person. Highly recommend.
We went for their Sunday dim sum menu and had a very pleasant time. I'm not entirely convinced by the low lighting and loud music, but it didn't interfere with our enjoyment. The food was of a high standard generally although I don't feel the service was good enough to justify charging 13.5% service as standard.
Dim Sum Sunday, an institution in itself, something we enjoy every time we're back in London! Highly recommended for food and alcohol lovers.
Great cocktails and food is excellent ...not cheap but quality
This is the third time I visited Hakkasan and found that it remains the same and has maintained its high standard. The service is good and the staff are friendly.
Usually come here for lunch, the music at dinner is rather loud, night clubby atmosphere. £30 post/pre theatre menu excellent value with cocktail and well known dishes for starter and dessert (duck salad, jivara bomb), but the main of chicken was dry, not well executed and not a great choice for a satisfying meal. We supplemented with another dish. Better to come for dim sum Sunday!
Amazing place and friendly service from start to finish. Cocktails were lovely and food was immense to top off a lovely evening and experience.
The food was nice but asked for a cocktail to not have ginger but was told they are all premade and can't be changed. The pork belly was very good but the music was pumping rave music and was too loud, left with a slight headache.
Brilliant experience, food is always phenomenal. Will definitely be coming again.
Great food. Poor management. Refused to turn down the very loud disco music when requested. So not easy to have a conversation!
We enjoyed it as always. Free good service and food is nice.
Delicious! We visited for a special birthday mean and were not disappointed. The food is outstanding, had one of the set menus and everything was delicious - the chicken satay was especially amazing. One of the strongest cocktails I have ever had as well!
The tables were a bit close to each other and we felt like we were eating with the people next to us (although they were lovely!)
However, I would visit again and have recommended it to my friends already!
Top class, perfect! Amazing every time... our favourite!
Our favourite restaurant in London, great atmosphere and fantastic food. Can’t wait to return.
Hakkasan has been my favourite restaurant in London for many years, and a place a go with my girlfriend to celebrate anything really. The food is amazing, the staff helpful and it’s a fun place with a vibrant scene. But you go here for the food, or the wine (if you can afford it). Fantastic meal, every time!
Food was good but not outstanding, the service was polite but badly coordinated- three people in a row asking to clear our plates when we were still eating and had no been there very long. They rushed serving main dishes after starters. Lighting takes dark a bit too far, but overall nice atmosphere
17 years of doing the same thing, with the same look in a restaurant scene which has changed immeasurably and for the better in London and yet Hakkasan and its Hanway Place flagship remain absolutely BRILLIANT and at the top of the tree. This is modern Chinese done amazingly well in a super duper setting with great lighting, music and service. Love it.
Absolutely delicious food, very swanky dark stylish interior, heavy duty Air Conditioning.
Excellent creative Chinese food, well presented, and great cocktails - the Taste of Hakkasan set menu was good value.
We had the pre-theatre fixed menu meal and the food quality was exemplary in every detail.
The service was excellent and speedy which is important for theatre goers.
The bar service was outstanding as were the cocktails which were included in the price.
The value for money was great and we shall certainly return with friends to sample their wider menu.
Staffs are very nice including the chef. So friendly and helpful
I read minor review complaining about food but my diner was very great.
It is valuable for the ambience and services that you receive from the hakkasan.
Hakkasan must be the most amazing place I have eaten, please do eat here
Just fantastic ... I can not fault the service, the food, the ambiance or the decor... highly recommended.
As always, this restaurant delivers what it promises. Great service, food and quiet environment for a perfect romantic lunch or dinner. Dim Sum Sunday’s are my favourite, whilst the price may seem high, for what you get, it is wonderful.
Very highly recommended
It was our anniversary and they wrote a message on our dessert, which was a nice touch! Great food overall as well.
A great dining experience, food was excellent, every bit as good as previous visits, love the ambiance too. Having visited both Hakkasan venues in London, I give this one the nod, it’s a little more cosy, the clientele a little less showy. Very expensive, so one for special occasions only as far as I’m concerned.
Great service lovely food. Pre
Theatre menu is great value, will definitely be back!
Came here for pre-theater dinner and it exceeded expectation in every way: convenient location, gracious service, and delicious food!
Their passion fruit martinis are other worldly....a must try! The management is attentive and great waitstaff.
I heard a lot of good things about the Hakkasan chain but unfortunately for me it did not live up to my expectations. The service wasn’t the best. Our starters were good. However, when we our mains came out one of the dishes(Mongolian Style Lamb Chops) came out to the table once we had finished the other mains. Also we had heard about the “Jivara Bomb” dessert being the best desert ever. However I found it weird that a ball of rice crispie filled ice cream is worth that amount of money. I didn’t really enjoy the dessert. Overall I think for what your paying it’s not that great and have experienced better places in London. Unfortunately, as this was meant to be a special occasion it was let down by the food and somewhat the service.
