Hakkasan Hanway Place is the original Hakkasan restaurant. This Michelin starred Chinese restaurant was designed by the famed Christian Liaigre, the intricate wooden lattice screens, carved out of dark English oak, invite discerning guests for a unique dining experience with contemporary cuisine from Chef Tong Chee Hwee. The menu has a strong Chinese ethnic identity with an ethos of Cantonese cooking.

Hakkasan Hanway Place launched ‘Dim Sum Sundays’ in 2013. Priced at £50 or £62 per person, Dim Sum Sundays is a weekly lunch event with music from Hakkasan lounge DJs, available every Sunday from 12pm until 6.30pm.

The £62 menu includes a cocktail from Hakkasan’s award-winning list to start, followed by a half bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier Champagne pp and concludes with a digestive cocktail to enjoy with dessert.

Please note that the 'Taste of Hakkasan' menu is not available from 26th Nov/18 until 2nd Jan/19 and on 14th February.

Hakkasan celebrates the ancient Chinese culinary ritual with “Dim Sum Sundays”. Dim sum, or ‘touching the heart’, has developed over hundreds of years, but has its roots in the providing of sustenance and the facilitating of rest and conversation.

Priced at £50 or £62 per person, the 6-course menu has been created by Chef Ho Hip Wah, Hakkasan Hanway Place’s Chef de Cuisine. Dim Sum Sundays is a weekly event, with the menu available every Sunday from 12midday – 6:30pm.

The menu encompasses our idea of “modern authenticity” which is at the heart of everything at Hakkasan. We acknowledge tradition while embracing and crafting change.

Highlights include the Crispy duck salad, Chinese chive dumpling with prawn and crabmeat, Truffle chicken shumai, Oven baked lamb puf and Stir fry black pepper rib eye beef with Merlot.

It was our second time at Hakkasan and unfortunately the staff was not as attentive as last time which was too bad cause that was one of the things we really enjoyed on our first outing.
However, the food was amazing as always and we will certainly come again!

We went there for lunch on a Saturday because it was unusually free to book and we understood why, although an amazing restaurant it's better to go for dinner because it is very dark and quiet, it's also underground so it kind of isolates you from the rest of the world. Amazing food, very pricey but I would think it's worth it.
Recommended dishes: Pipa duck (the best!!), Black truffle duck, but honestly everything tasted really good so know you'll enjoy whatever you order.

I eat at Hakkasan in Qatar regularly and was disappointed with this outlet.

The cost was about the same but the quality did nor meet the high standard I have come to expect of Hakkasan. The restaurant was overcrowded with so many waiting staff that there was no space to move my chair was knocked multiple times and when finally a waiter dropped a serving dish down my back we were moved to another table. The wait staff were poorly organised and there was a lot of shouting between them. Not the calm professional service we get elsewhere at the same price point. The wine was not opened in front of us, the food menu was limited and of a lower quality.

Not the epicentre it once was. Food nice but service horrific. To be fair the management provided free drinks by way of an apology. But the service were not on form.

Service not great, menus took a long time to arrive, twice they got the order wrong.
Probably because of noise!!!
But food is always really good.

Tried the DimSun Sunday for the first time. It looks, as if there's a large growd, that uses this not to expensive event to visit Hakkasan.

The cocktails are not as good as the ones you will get in the evening. So that was a disappointment for me. Also the growd is brinning a lot of noise in the stylish restaurant.

Some of the staff members were pretty helpful, the other ones ignored you, while willing to pay.

So the place has a Michelin Star? Sundays it has not zero stars, it has minus one, cause it transfirms into a kind of a noodle palace restaurant.

We have been coming to Hakkasan for years now and everything has always been excellent
However I’m not sure what happened on Saturday night
Our drinks were plonked on the table and the waiter was on us straight away for our orders trying to hurry us up
Two of main course arrived cold and had to be sent back and the rice came out approx 10minutes after the rest of our food
A very disappointing experience all round

The concept of high end Chinese cuisine is well executed with imaginative twists on Hakka dishes. The flavours are full of richness and depth. In its effort to impress, I felt that there needed to be some more balance of milder and neutral dishes on the set menus to counter the ultra strong flavours of virtually every dish. Truffle sauces and super spicy hot chillies need counter balance with perhaps more simple veg offerings. The ambience and service was top notch and it the restaurant feels very much like a destination perfect for both dates and meals with friends. The quality of the food and service justifies the high prices. It’s definitely a memorable experience well worth checking out for a special occasion if you are after quality.

Mala experiencia.

Excellent food, service and ambience, Went with my wife and teenage children for my wife's birthday.
entered that it was a birthday on open table when booking and the restaurant picked it up without prompting. The dessert came up with Happy Birthday piped onto the plate. It is very expensive but worth it for a special occasion.
The only slight negative is that we were asked to vacate the table after 2 hours which was slightly earlier than we had naturally finished our meal, I know that they make you aware of this at time of booking and they did it in a polite way but when you've spent in excess of £550 it would be nice to finish the meal without rushing.

First time for me to eat at a Hakkasan restaurant, both my daughter and husband had been to one before and highly recommended it for our post theatre meal. Absolutely enjoyed the whole experience, the venue, food and staff were all superb. I had also mentioned when I confirmed my booking in writing that we were attending for my husband ‘s birthday, not thinking anymore of it we were suitably surprised when they brought out a candle with one of our desserts and a small gift . Thank you to all who made our experience a delightful one .

I’ve been to Hakkasan plenty of times, in both Hanway Place and Mayfair, for lunch and dinner and it’s always been good. Alas, our last visit was very disappointing.
After ordering the crispy duck, which at £110 is not cheap, the staff forgot to bring it to us to eat. What made it to our table was four tiny pieces of duck assorted with the cucumber and pancake which is the taster whilst you wait for the rest of the duck
The service was so spectacularly bad that we could not find a waiter to ask what was going on for at least 40 minutes until eventually one decided to bring us the dessert menu - even though we were still hopelessly waiting!
We asked for management. They agreed there had been a ‘misunderstanding with our duck’ and asked us to pay for 50% of the price, without ever offering to bring us the rest of the duck or a new one even though we said we were still starving! We refused to pay for it but still the expectation was that they should have not asked for any money AND they should have brought what we ordered.
So.... a very disappointing experience that was not at all helped by management when they could have turned it into something a lot more positive. Not planning on going again.
