Hakkasan - Hanway Place
Crispy duck salad 's'
with pomelo, pine nut and shallot
Inspired by the Chinese musical instrument, the pipa. The duck is roasted to achieve a crispy skin atop succulent meat, complemented by sweet sauce.
We found the staff to be quite unpleasant and although he food was excellent, the value for money was outrageously poor. SO overpriced it was unbelievable. Wine no longer available by the bottle. Why?
Not as good as previous visits, service or food I’m afraid.
Excellent food great service always first class the standard never changes.
The brunch has now changed to only 1 cocktail instead of the 3. Also the dessert what a Rice Krispies with chocolate. Not what was on the menu. Bit disappointing and I believe Hakkasan need to get back on their game..!!
I have eaten at Hakkasan’s many times over the years, food is consistently produced and to high standard, portions are generous and as well presented as possible for the style of food.
Having not been since pre-COVID, it appeared to me that the prices had increased and the service had dropped off to what felt like any average restaurant, there seemed a desire to take orders fast, and rush things along to get the table back ASAP.
Unfortunately not the same on the drinks, we waited longer for drinks to arrive than food !
Easily fixed Hakkasan’s to become great again.
Slow service. I was charged on my card for the reservation - which has not been reversed.
It was a nice place to celebrate and intimate birthday, but I think my request to highlight it was a birthday was ignored.
Aside from that it was a nice experience.
Very disappointing not to have a printed menu available. Scrolling through phone or tablet makes it feel like Deliveroo. Food was delivered too quickly making the experience seem rushed.
We had a wonderful meal and the service was fantastic thank you.
Food was okay - a lot of it was cold, would have been delicious if it had been served hot! I was slightly disappointed as we called on the day to ask if we could extend our table from 2 people to 4.. they said this was not possible but we were then sat on a table that was for four people. Such a shame. It’s very dark.
Totally awesome experience. Food was phenomenal. Cannot decide what dish I liked the most!
We went for a pre theatre meal and chose the Saturday brunch option but as my husband didn’t like champagne they changed it to a lovely bottle of white wine they allowed us to taste and pick. It took a while to get some service when we first sat down and they don’t have paper menus, but as we didn’t want our phones out on the table as we’re on a date away from the kids, they were understanding to this and they gave us an iPad. And then the service was great. Every dish was delicious. The right amount of food. The welcome cocktails were amazing too. Really lovely evening. The lady who helped us pick our wine was super helpful.
Some of the best food I’ve ever tried to be honest, combined with the setting it made for a great night.
Service was brilliant too, waiters timed the food to perfection.
My only complaint would be that we waited at the bar until our table was ready- within a few minutes the table then became a available and was told the drinks would be brought over, it took about 25 minutes for the drinks to come, but what’s annoying most is we were charged x2 (only noticed the day after) - so there must have been some confusion along the line. At £32 each drink it’s annoying…. Tastes delicious in fairness tho!
The food was delicious, but the haughty staff seemed more preoccupied with looking good rather than looking after the customers.
Great Food service poor not enough social distance for us
Excellent as always. Only downside.. the prices for such tiny portions.
We ordered our food I have received my starter but my partner didn’t we asked few times they said there is problem with communication in kitchen by that time I finished my starter and my partner just received it waited 30 min then had to ask 3 times for the bill and when we received it had charity added to our bill without even ask if we wanna do charity and service charge what I think should be optional if we wanna give nothing 10,15,20 % as our service definitely wasn’t worth 15%
Service was very poor and made the overall experience disappointing.
We were a table of 2 and we sat for 20 minutes before we were able to signal a waiter. There was no interaction whatsoever with our table when we arrived and it had felt that we were more of an inconvenience. No explanation of the menu, no drinks order or even offer of water etc. We felt neglected through out the meal.
When we eventually ordered, our food came out very quickly but it felt rushed and uncomfortable. The food was delicious but I noticed that when runners were bringing the food out they would stand for quite a long time waiting for a server to then bring the food to the table. I also had to follow up on a bottle of wine twice before it arrived at the table.
The ambience was loud and club like. I have been before and expected this but it felt like it didn’t help the staff. We couldn’t hear a word through the face masks and everything felt frantic. I thought about taking the service charge of the bill but I appreciate how challenging times have been recently.
I was also quite surprised as we left the restaurant how cold and almost rude the front desk person was. I said thank you and goodbye and there was no acknowledgement at all. Looked at me and then looked back down at her screen.
I think Hakkasan obviously has a brand power that people buy into no matter what but I think you would be much better off going to Park Chinois, Nobu or even trying the Mayfair site. Given the pricing too I expected much better.
Incredible food and drinks
Booked Hakkasan for our 20th anniversary and being honest came away feeling a bit underwhelmed.
Basing the review solely on the food we were served was it worth what we paid? I'd have to say no and not as good as we were expecting based on previous dining experiences.
It was good, but only good when we were hoping to be wowed.
I don’t like the fact there is no paper menu - I saw an older man really struggling with the QR code only to be brought an iPad which he was struggling with. To be honest I didn’t enjoy the QR code situation either can we just have a menu when we ask for one.
The menu isn’t easy to navigate on your phone. The staff on arrival didn’t acknowledge our arrival and after quite a few minutes we had to interrupt their group conversation to get their attention.
The table was booked for two hours, but after 1 hour 40mins we were asked to move.
Excellent food ,especially the vegetarian, and service as usual
Overpriced. Extremely bad service - 30 mins wait to order, 30 mins wait to pay (person taking our payment didn’t even say thank you or anything). Worst thing is I booked an experience through opentable for the “Taste of Hakkasan” menu but when I arrived, they said that I couldn’t order from the menu anymore. Really disappointed. Easily the worst Michelin starred restaurant experience in London.
Came Sunday 19 for a Brunch. Disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the food was great, the service as well. However, I was used to the former Week-End Brunch menus that were significantly cheaper, with more options/choice as well as an extra cocktail included. It used to be possible to have an alcohol-free brunch, not anymore. The food was also better (especially the desert in mind). It was far away from a bad experience, but it is also very disappointing compared to past experiences. I probably won't come back.
Fabulous food and great service, but it’s very slow - 3 hours for lunch (though we did eat a lot!) Would recommend for a special occasion! Such lovely gestures to make it a really memorable lunch
Amazing food, great place, fantastic vibe!! A place to remember!! X
Lovely to be back after 20 months away!!
High quality food, great atmosphere, superb service.
Very Good , Food is exquisite
