My favorite restaurant in the WORLD! Bar none. I make special trips to London just to eat there.
Terrific Food and service, and we are looking forward to coming back.
Food was excellent, service was average
The restaurant was over priced and the food was very average. We will not be returning
Hakassan is a London gem, and never ceases to impress ! As usual service is first class, food is perfect and ambience is superb. No wonder the place was absolutely packed on a Tuesday night, in fact is always full any night I have been, since my first dining pleasure here 13 years ago.
Really disappointed to say the least. We had really high expectations, but the the service was poor. People got there food before we did, even though we was got there before they did. From the start to main, waited 45 mins.. even then my main came 10 min later. So all of didn’t come at once. Very disappointed
Considering the whole of Soho the West End had a power cut they done a really good job of managing the restaurant with a power cut...we are regulus at least twice a month and would highly recommend this place to anyone
This is the third time me and my wife have eaten here - each time for a birthday or wedding anniversary - and the food never ceases to amaze us. We had the signature menu for £68 each. The bill was a bit more expensive than usual as they were running 30 minutes behind which meant extra drinks at the bar while waiting (although the drinks were lovely). The main criticisms of the night would be the fact that we weren’t informed of there being a 30 minute delay to our table, and after waiting for 20/25 minutes I had to go and ask at the front desk myself. The only other issue is the music. Granted, it’s a trendy restaurant, but my wife said it sounded like modern lift music. I think it sounds more like hold music for an advertising company. Still, it’s non offensive and unlikely to actually spoil the night, unless the conversation isn’t great and you are listening to it for too long. All in all, it was still a special dining experience and we will be going back there.
DISAPPOINTMENT! The greeters and waitresses were all lovely and the bar men are quality! I was told there was a delay with my table, which is fine as I was at the bar catching up with my friend. We were seated and given menus 20 minutes after the booked time. We were seen 20 minutes after, to take our order.
The appetizers (which should be out within 5-15minutes of ordering)took 50 MINUTES! The appetizers were bland! The sesame prawn toast (was purely batter and a small prawn) and the smoked beef ribs (nothing to write about!). We didn't finish either appetizer. We were then given the main course 7 minutes after clearing our appetizers. The chicken claypot (which lacked sauce and used the fatty part of the chicken)was not as flavourful as it seems. The pipa duck also was mainly fat. For the price you pay, you expect good quality meat but nope!
Whilst we were eating our main, we were told they needed the table! The waitress asked if we wanted dessert and if so we needed to order now as they are running behind schedule. She was however quick to point out, its' no fault of our own and that they would 'allow' an extra 15minutes over the 2hour dining limit. Much to our displeasure, we stopped eating to decide our dessert. They cleared the main meal and came in 7 minutes with one WRONG order of dessert! We then waited a further 15minutes for them to bring out the one correct dessert.
A man, who I can assume was a manager, came over whilst we FINALLY got the right dessert to hand the bill and apologized saying he knows there was delays with our meals but needed the table. Although they apologized and never directly said it was our fault for the rush, the fact that they felt the need to mention the table was needed twice, despite THEIR shortcomings; was distateful. For a meal of that cost, NOT WORTH IT! Maybe last night was an 'off night', however, unfortunately,as a customer paying for a service, we are selfishly not expecting lacklustre quality and excuses.
Birthday celebration. Round number. Asked for a lively table in a advance. Got placed in the last corner. Food was good, but the same food (less decorated) is available in a simple Chinatown restaurant. Service slow, disorganized & inattentive. Had to clean my own table and wait 20 min for check. At this point (after check, when we were about to leave) they brought one ball of ice cream with a candle in it for the birthday “child”.
Great vibe, good music and cool interiors. But don’t go there for the special food or great service.
Very bad service.. One guy got Food before we got aperitiff, rest waited 10 min on their starter.. after we finished starter, we got main course 4 min after we finished the starter.. overall Very bad service..
As usual the place and food are great. Fab cocktails but it’s getting expensive.
Fantastic vibe, delicious food and a wine list with great depth. Will be back for sure.
One of, if the most amazing food I have had. Full credit to the chefs that prepared this. Enjoyed the experience a lot- fantastic ambience to the place and lots of really great dishes. The cod was awesome and personally my favorite. The prawns and the duck were unbelievable as well. Not a bad dish on the menu that we had at all. Staff were extremely polite and the level of hospitality was way above anything experienced. The red wine rioja was very smooth! Seriously one of the best meals I’ve had- more than a meal- it was an experience to savour.
Fabulous experience from the start. We chose the top-end signature menu and it really didn't disappoint. Just one dish I wasn't over keen on (cod, with champagne and honey sauce), but then I don't like very sweet savoury food.
Amazing food, some of the best dim sum I've ever had
The food was amazing and the service immaculate. The duck dish, and Grilled sea bass were particular highlights. The cocktails were superb. My only complaint was the noise level...incessant loud music is not conducive to easy conversation. Sometimes it felt more like a nightclub than a restaurant. And the toilets are very confusing! Especially after a couple of cocktails! But we would definitely go back as the food was incredible.
We had the chinese New Year menu which was the most expensive option on the list. It was enjoyable but not as spectacular as the golden week menu we had a few months ago. As alwasy with Hakassan the service and the atmosphere was perfect.
There is room for improvement.
Food very good as is the environment. Service just a little too “rushing you to turn the table” (despite being well within the 2 hour allocation).
Hakkasan- take a chill pill and you’re rating will climb
The food was nice. However, the service could improve more. The waiter who served us could be friendlier. It was not the kind of service I would expect from a Michelin star restaurant. Really disappointed about it. Will not go back there again.
Everything is good, However it was quite disappoint that there was no rice dumpling because that day was Chinese lantern festival.
Pricey but one of the best services in London with fantastic cocktail menu and of the best atmospheres in London
As a Chinese, I have to say those dim sum in Hakkasan are the best in my life I have ever tasted!
Awesome as always
Fantastic food and service, will definitely be back.
I would have given more star's but our waiter dropped the rice dish on the floor at our table. We then got a replacement after we finished our meal so did not enjoy the food.
Throughout the restaurant you could hear plates and glasses being dropped so I don't think it was a one off event.
However the waiter was nice and helped us pick our food especially as we had people with allagies in our group.
For the price I would have expected more.
Been to this great restaurant quite a few times now, but a little disappointed with the service this time. The rice they delivered was really not sufficient for 4 and then we had to wait half an hour for another bowl, by which time we had nearly finished the mains. Would have expected a little more.
Really disappointing evening. We were at hakkasan for a joint 30th Birthday dinner (this was mentioned on the booking) but this wasn’t acknowledged even though we saw other tables with cakes with candles on them.
Some of our food was luke warm (and none of it hot)and one dish of vegetables was about half the size it usually is. This was sent back although included on the bill.
One of our party had to repeatedly get up from her seat to allow the waiters past to serve another table.
Evening didn’t start well when we arrived on time for our reservation but were then shown to the bar (which is basically a corridor) for 25mins. This isn’t what you expect from somewhere which charges the prices it does!
The overall feel was that the restaurant was taking advantage of its trendy status so didn’t feel it necessary to treat its customers well as there are plenty more willing to come.
Apart from the price, truly a fantastic restaurant in the quality of food, service and ambience.
Looking forward to returning to this gem of a restaurant...
We have recommended this restaurant to many, many people...
Refreshing to actually eat natural, quality, Oriental Food..
One of the best! We booked early afternoon before a theatre visit and opted for the lunch menu. Dim sum was some of the best I have ever eaten, we had sea bass, prawn and beef mains and all were something special. Hakka cocktail also recommended. Service very good - friendly but not intrusive. £38 per head set menu - not cheap but very good value for the quality. Will definitely return.
The food was outstanding, the ambiance classy and the service was impeccable!
Hakkasan never disappoints! The dim sum is a personal favorite.
Hakkasan is always great! have to say much better at lunch as fresh. Evenings have been very busy so food quality slightly different
Avoid at all costs. Service was horrible, waitress hardly ever and to our table. The food was not even average Chinese food, I guess the bar is super low in London.
Excellent choice for vegetarians and attentive service
Great dining experience
Great food in a buzzing environment! Generous portions so make sure you don’t over-order as they don’t ‘doggy-bag’...
Outstanding food, service and ambience. Completely sated.
Good food, but not spectacular. Rather loud music. At least 4 waiters wanted to pour wine in our glasses, which was quite irritating since we wanted to take it slowly. The guy we understood was our main waiter did a very good job, but it was a bit annoying with others stepping in quite unnecessarily.
