Hakkasan Hanway Place is the original Hakkasan restaurant. This Michelin starred Chinese restaurant was designed by the famed Christian Liaigre, the intricate wooden lattice screens, carved out of dark English oak, invite discerning guests for a unique dining experience with contemporary cuisine from Chef Tong Chee Hwee. The menu has a strong Chinese ethnic identity with an ethos of Cantonese cooking.

Hakkasan Hanway Place launched ‘Dim Sum Sundays’ in 2013. Priced at £58 or £62 per person, Dim Sum Sundays is a weekly lunch event with music from Hakkasan lounge DJs, available every Sunday from 12pm until 6.30pm.

The £62 menu includes a cocktail from Hakkasan’s award-winning list to start, followed by a half bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier Champagne per person ( or a Magnum per 4 guests) and concludes with a digestive cocktail to enjoy with dessert.

Please note that the 'Taste of Hakkasan' menu is not available on 14th February.

Hakkasan celebrates the ancient Chinese culinary ritual with “Dim Sum Sundays”. Dim sum, or ‘touching the heart’, has developed over hundreds of years, but has its roots in the providing of sustenance and the facilitating of rest and conversation.

Priced at £58 per person, the 6-course menu has been created by Chef Ho Hip Wah, Hakkasan Hanway Place’s Chef de Cuisine. Dim Sum Sundays is a weekly event, with the menu available every Sunday from 12midday – 5pm.

The menu encompasses our idea of “modern authenticity” which is at the heart of everything at Hakkasan. We acknowledge tradition while embracing and crafting change.

Highlights include the Crispy duck salad, Chinese chive dumpling with prawn and crabmeat, Crispy smoked duck and pumpkin puff, Pork and prawn shumai and Grilled Chilean sea bass.

Great restaurant, good service. Overall a nice experience, but the food did moss a bit of an edge. Some dimsum were a bit too dough-y. Excellent dessert.

It was my first time here for a special dinner with a good friend so I wanted it to be perfect. I requested for a good seating table for us to make great intimate conversation. The food, ambience, decor and service was second to none. It states that the restaurant closes at 11pm but we didn't even pay attention to the time and stayed there until about 12.30am, not once did we felt rushed or pressured to leave. In all, I am truly happy with my experience and would come here again.

Beyond disappointing. Saturday night. My birthday. This restaurant has a great heritage. The vibe was way too clubby. The ambience wasn’t good and the initial service was robotic.
What totally ruined it was the food. A local Chinese delivers much better quality and standard! I’d been to the Shanghai Branch last month which was outstanding. Amazing food, great flavours and impeccable service. Very underwhelming. Avoid.

Food was quite good, nothing spectacular considering the price and reputation of the establishment. The staff were uncoordinated and the level of English and knowledge about the food and drink lacking. Also the tone was a bit curt and one felt somewhat like a problem to be handled rather than a guest to be welcomed.

Fabulous food - especially the beef ribs. Some of the tastiest chinese food we have eaten. Service was very good

The food and cocktails were absolutely delicious - the only complaint was how keen the staff were for us to leave. With the price, you'd expect to be given a little more leeway but we were asked twice whether we'd finished the puddings and it really felt like they wanted to get rid of us (even though this was done very politely). Was a bit of a shame after such a delicious meal.

This is one of the best East Asian restaurants in London: it is always a pleasure to go there, especially at earlier times when it is not so busy.

I have been to Hakkasan many times (but also many years ago). Four of us ordered the signature menu.

We found the food very ordinary, and certainly well short of Michelin star level.

The ambience is still good, but there are very many better restaurant experiences for much lower cost.

Will not be going there again.

The dim sum was superb and probably the best we ever had. Usually dim sum can be a hit and miss affair, not here, every bite was good or great. The crispy duck salad was to die for.
Also, we had the Sunday brunch deal, which was really good value. Hard to find a fault, that we got our dessert paired Avec-drinks after we finished our dessert, maybe? But then we’re really nitpicking.
We will return, love the place.

Mains were delayed but the staff were amazing. No need to complain, they knew the problem, apologised in advance and removed the cost of our wine from the bill.
Food was great as always. Been many times before, will go again obviously.

Great value! Had a fab time. A bit too dark at the table so a couple more lights would have made it more enjoyable. Tables were slightly too close together as well but all in all a good experience

We like coming to Hakkasan for dim sum lunch because of the impeccable food and service. And this time round, we had a pleasant surprise that they added a new item – red rice cheung fun to the menu – it was super delicious!

As vegeterians, we thought that the starters and dessert were great, tasted good and presented with finesse. The tea and cake dessert was an amazing experience.

However we weren't as blown away with our mains. The vegeterian chicken arrived lukewarm and minimal effort was put into the presentation, the same story goes for the stir fry. This is a shame as both dishes could have tasted much better with a little bit more effort into preparing them. They were also quite dry so if you are hoping for some sauce to have with your rice, you may have to ask for some condiments.

Absolutely fantastic dim sum. Never tasted anything like this in Hongkong and Singapore (which are famous for dim sum!). However they need to replace the veru old chairs as the seat cushions are no longer firm!

We loved the food but felt it was just too noisy. Music was at a level where all neighbouring tables had to shout, so we had to shout to communicate and after 2 hours I felt like I had just come out of a night club.

Really enjoyed our meal here - just wish we weren't in quite as much of a rush as we were. From sitting down at the bar with a delicious cocktail before dinner, through to being seated and served, the service was excellent.
The ambiance was also very nice. A dark restaurant from table to table, but nicely lit at your own table.
We did the Taste of Hakkasan and the food was wonderful. It was served in a way that allowed us to share each others meals, so that was nice as well.
Go for the Fujian Fashioned if you fancy a drink. I don't usually like different takes on an Old Fashioned, but this one was really good.
Would definitely go back here!

Excellent food and drink, on the Sunday Brunch Dim Sum menu. It was a birthday celebration, great place for that. One of the group of 4, was not able to eat from the standard menu due to allergies, which was fine but they did not make any attempt to include the drink package for him. Somewhat awkward given it was a group of 4 celebrating a birthday!

Disappointing. Fantastic food spoilt by one and twenty minute wait for main course. Irritating constant top up of wine glasses and offer of another bottle of wine when we asked how long our food would be. Fabulous food, loud music, dark restaurant and poor service - will not be recommending to family and friends.

All the staff were very welcoming and attentive without being stuffy. The tables are packed in tight and we would have liked more room as there is no way you can get up without disturbing fellow diners either side. The food is incredible and we were glad we had been gifted the sampler or we would not have been able to choose from the extensive a la Carte menu. Our bill was around £330 for two including a £39 bottle of wine which makes it a special occasion only for us. On the whole a great evening.
