First time at Hakkasan Hanway Place and we were very impressed. The staff were extremely attentive, the food was amazing at the atmosphere was great too. Would definitely recommend coming here for special occasions.
Fairly poor given the reputation and price tag. Disappointing set menu: pomelo & duck starter was good, chicken was nicely cooked & but the mediocre satay sauce was a let down for main and chocolate ice cream with rice crispies for dessert?! The waiter got the drinks order wrong twice (we were choosing from the 3 set menus cocktails so not complicated). The plates were cleared while one of the party was still eating which is simply rude and one would’ve hoped in a restaurant of this reputation the staff would’ve more manners.
Couldn’t return despite good reviews seen elsewhere. You can have far better Chinese for a better price in Chinatown if you know where to go.
For comparitor restaurants, the level of table service is exceptionally poor (although the staff at the front desk were pleasant). I will admit I was tempted by the set menu which was good value, but based on that I wouldn’t want to risk the a la carte prices, which is a shame as set menus and offers can be a gateway to further custom.
Experienced very poor service. Another guest walked out restaurant with our wine and restaurant made no effort to resolve or apologise. They advised it happens and on a Saturday night customers are drunk so it’s to be excepted.
Although we booked the table 1 month ago we had to wait 45minutes to get our table. Food came quick but was a bit disappointed compared to last time.
Food was excellent. Drinks were too. My only gripe was being reminded by the waiter no less than 5 times in the first half hour that we "only have the table for 2 hours". My friend was late (nothing unusual there) so us 2 early birds had a number of appetisers and drinks but we were still reminded about the curfew and were put under pressure to order mains ASAP!
We knew the 2 hour rule before we got there but we didn't need to be reminded constantly. It honestly felt like the next guests were more important than us current ones!
Other than this, we had a very cool night with lots of very, very good food.
Excellent. Service, ambience, FOOD.
Loved it all. Highly recommend.
Took my wife here for here BIRTHDAY...bar staff especially Jessica went out of her way to make sure the cocktails were amazing...from start to finish the whole experience was amazing.....the staff were very accommodating and very helpful at all times....the food was great....and that desert hmmmm jivara bomb.....WOW!!!
THANK YOU everyone at HAKKASAN for making my wife's BIRTHDAY a memorable one.
The food was fantastic unfortunately the service was not. The staff were very slow, we had dirty plates left on the table for about half an hour after we’d finished eating and we had long delays for drinks.
The evening was nice, but the music was abit to loud,I felt like was shouting while having a conversation to my partner. The food was nice. There were too many tables squashed together so we felt we were sitting with strangers. The service wasn’t great we waited a while for our food & our bill. We took some food home & asked for a bag to put it in & it took them 15minutes to get a bag.
Absolutely stunning dinner. Was very well looked after by the staff. Many thanks to Dovile for the exceptional service.
Beautiful place, really good food, very good service. I just love this place 😍👌🏻
We were hurried by the waiter because there was a big party coming after us!
Fantastic food, great service!
Everything was perfect. Food was extremely tasty and you want to visit again while you are enjoying it. It’s expensive but the portion was good so it was a good value. I will definitly come back again.
Poor service, the waiter did not understand the ’vibe’ of our table and kept offering things we didn’t want as well as rejecting the things we were interested in. He just said “no don’t order that, its not good” the food was mediocre at best, corn soup was tasteless and the dim sam looked amazing but the waiter fail to tell us what is what and I ate things i hate and actually couldn’t bare (so i spilt it back to the plate). When he picked up the plate, it was half full, he didn’t even ask if everything was good.
We hade great recommendations on this place but this was a total disaster. We left hungry and payed 87£ for nothing (including 14% tip for the great servant that was included)
Thank for the lovely evening.
Excellence from start to finish. You can’t ask for more
Loved the food.
Service was 10/10
Will 120% be back
Was dining by myself to celebrate a special occasion and the hostess was extremely rude upon learning this. Have dined by myself many a time and this was the first I have ever been made to feel embarrassed that I was dining myself. Upon seating, still got given 2 menus as if someone else was joining me had to wait 20 minutes before being offered anything despite numerous attempts by myself. Upon ordering and getting the food ( which was extremely mediocre in my opinion) really just started to get the impression that they could not have given a crap. I wasn’t asking for a fanfare but when you are by yourself you notice attention given elsewhere. I didn’t end up staying for dessert as I just wanted to leave. Asked to have service charge taken off as there was no way they were getting 13.5% for that. Asked waiter and he huffed and puffed about this. Upon leaving said hostess asked how my meal was and I said it wasn’t great, she evidently hadn’t heard a word I said cause she said back to me about how glad she was that I had had a good evening. Overall it was an absolute joke of a meal. Despite even the rubbish service, if I had had amazing Michelin level quality food I would have walked away semi happy but even then the food honestly wasn’t even special, nothing positive at all about the experience.
My second visit and was even better than the first time! Tasty and visually appealing food, portion sizes were not stingy, served by a few different people all of which were helpful, happy and discreet. I'd forgotten I'd alerted on my booking that this was birthday meal (daughter's 30th) so it was a lovely surprise to have a birthday candle and chocolates with our dessert at the end, complete with dry ice! Expensive food but absolutely delicious and in sumptuous surroundings with very pleasant service = good value if you ask me. No problem with the music being too loud btw, it was perfectly fine and in the background. Enjoy!
Have been more times, both in mayfair and hanway.
This time everything was underplaying. Good but nothing special
Great food in a cool environment. Really inspired take on Asian
A really enjoyable way to while away a late Sunday afternoon into evening. The Dim Sum Sunday Signature is astonishing value at £62 per person - two great cocktails and half a bottle of good champagne a head, and delicious food - and the nightclub ambience means you lose track of time and the outside world. One's meant to have the table for just 2 hours but we have always outstayed our time and I can't imagine the charming staff would ever be so discourteous to draw our attention to that rule.
Very disappointed that the a la carte dim sum menu has been reduced from a really good selection to only a handful of choices now. Asked a waiter about this, he came across most unpleasant, verging on hostile. Service in general was very poor. Waited a long time to order, to receive (the wrong) water and over 15 mins for the bill.
We dined on Saturday evening for a 3 year anniversary and we’re simply blown away
Good but a bit overpriced. Very busy. Felt a bit "Essex".
Great restaurant/great food - I would say that 2 hrs at a table for 4,people for tasting
Menu is not great as you are rushed which was disappointing. And at times could hardly hear the conversations it was that loud with the music
Very cosy atmosphere and delicious cantonese food. Nice tables for 2 in the main area where you can seat next to each other. Great cocktails. Decent wine list.
Delicious and beautiful food with knowledgable and attentive servers. There is also a very large selection of interesting cocktails. We had a dim sum starter that was gorgeous.
Lovely experience, amazing food and well worth a visit! We visited with my In-Laws for their birthday and they were made to feel really special which was lovely.
Something to note - it's quite dark and the music is quite loud, so it may not be for everyone!
Absolutely gorgeous experience with this restaurant I probably come back and recommend friends
Really nice place. Had the taster menu and it was everything we expected it to be.
"A taste of Hakkasan" was incredible value. Delicious and well-crafted chinese cooking, 3-course meal and house crafted cocktail. Dark and sexy ambiance perfect for a special occasion!
The nouse is too loud to have a conversation
The food was moderate, not worth the price
Superb night. Really easy to get a 7pm booking. 2 hour slot was filled (and extended) and time flew by. Food was excellent, drinks equally so and I loved the atmosphere. Yes there is music and yes it is more than background but it adds to the ambience and experience. Fine dining with a vibe. Loved it. Abelone dim sum, wagyu, lettuce wrap, champagne honey sauce and the bomb were highlights but to be honest I loved the lot.
Lovely food, slightly overpriced for what you get though. However, was disappointed with the service as multiple times we asked for things but did not get it until we asked a further two times. We were also forgotten about with plates not being taken away soon enough.
Amazing pre theatre meal. Great value, great cocktails, the food was delicious
Have had far better
