A nice place with tasty food and good service. I would recommend to try the duck salad dish.
we went for the vegetarian/vegan set dim sum menu which was certainly filling. We loved the first two courses, especially the salad which we would have loved more of as it was so delicious. The main course, however, although tasty was a bit dry. The staff are delightful and very attentive whilst discrete. The music is always a bit loud for me but it's their thing so it's fine. I do love going to Hakkasan but don't do it often enough. Food is always so good and I am always recommending it to friends.
Really good as always
Having been half a dozen or so times in the past, we found this visit really disappointing. The menu has changed with a focus on the set menus which we thought we’d try -wished we hadn’t. The special set menu for Chinese new year was bland and rushed. The portions were small, the soup tasteless, the lobster overpowered by the sauce and a measly portion of rice which you didn’t dare ask for replenishing for fear of the cost. The service was fine, nothing special so the 13.5% charge was a bit much. I’d only go back for the dim sum Sunday and taste of hakkasan options which are reasonably priced for the quality and quantity.
Had the Chinese New Year menu and was really disappointed with all aspects except the dessert. Poor flavour in most dishes esp lamb and pork. Very poor value.
The food and drink, as always, was amazing with the dumplings exceptionally delicious. The restaurant is a little dark but it gives it a nice ambiance. I thought the service really disapointed when you're paying top dollar for chinese food: we were ghosted for a while before we could order drinks and even longer before we could order food, numerous times we had to ask for more drinks or wines. Service was otherwise fine (very polite for e.g.) but left more to be desired.
Lovely staff and food and a really nice afternoon. Slightly on the pricy side but then you don’t mind paying that for a lovely afternoon and also the food quality was amazing
The food was absolutely amazing and filling. The food was extremely flavoursome and the service was fantastic! I definitely recommend this restaurant.
We’ve previously been to Hakkasan Mayfair and fell in love with it, so had certain expectations from the dinner. The Hakkasan Hanway Place did not meet them, the service was slow, the waiter was not nice but was arrogant, the cocktails were not as good as at Mayfair (and again it took us ages to get them). Food was well, but the overall experience did not worth the money we spent there. Do not recommend to visit, opt for Hakkasan Mayfair instead.
I didnt like the souce of spicy prawn
Amazing food, ambiance and service.
I've been here a few times, but this time, the service was not quite what it normally is. The food was good though.
Service was wonderful from we walked through the door. Food was divine, i had put note on the booking as was a birthday treat for my partner, the staff brought desert out with a candle and a lovely little box of chocolates.
Would highly recommend the place as a special treat.
I had a wonderful birthday meal here, the food was phenomenal and the service was great. Would highly recommend.
Food was absolutely wondeful. I went for surprise birthday meal for my brother and they came with a little surprise ice cream. He also had an allergy to prawns and the chef was happy to change it for something alternatively delicious to sweet and sour pork. It was very special- definitely worth every penny!! Food and service was excellent!!
Great food as always and the New Year Lion dancers were a nice extra. One dish was forgotten and I had to wait ages for it so not 5 stars this time but otherwise very good.
This was a fab treat for a Sunday lunch and great value with plenty of food and loads of champagne in with the price of the Dim Sum Sunday. This restaurant has a well-deserved reputation
Absolutely loved, went for a 5th year anniversary dinner. Food and service were amazing, would highly recommend especially as a special occasion.
We were seated 40 minutes late, were given menus 10 minutes after sitting down and on top of this, food arrived incredibly late and overall took a very long time. We had plans after dinner that we missed due to how slow the service and overall experience was.
Great place, delicious food, nice vibes and great service!
The service was poor. We waited 2 hours for our food. We had about 10 waiters in total, and due to that no one was in charge of us. My mom ordered champagne which came after 3 minutes, whereas my water took 38 minutes (I watched the time). We also had a hard time communicating with one of the waiters because he didn’t speak English too well.
Overall we love hakkasan, but last time was a bummer. To wait 2 hours for the food is not optimal and when we asked the waiters, the response was angry and I felt like a burden.
The food was great but being left at a crowded bar not knowing when a table was going ro be ready and if we'd have to go looking for it wasn't. We were on time but were sat 20 minutes late. When you're told on booking you only have the table for a certain amount of time, that's not brilliant. And really, the food is good but £110 minimum for Peking duck that you barely see and get probably less than half of....
Great food. Went for the lotus tasting menu. Wasn't disappointed and certainly well fed.
We had the set meal and it was very nice, however it was a bit of a surprise for a service charge of 13.5% to be automatically added. The staff were very friendly and we didn't feel rushed at all. It would have been better to have a slightly larger choice of food but i suppose they wanted to keep it simple for the set menu. I would return, but for me its more of a couple place than a larger group.
Excellent set menu taste of hakkasan, wonderful food, beautiful service and unique atmosphere. Cant wait to return.
Thank you for a great experience. It was amazing. Fantastic food. Lovely coctails
Never disappoints me with Hakkasan. Always the considerate, careful service. Dim sum as top notch.
I have been a regular visitor since the restaurant first opened. For the first time ever I had the ‘deal menu’ for £38. Whilst compared with the normal prices it’s quite a saving I thought the portion size v small bulked out by lack lustre vegetables and rice. In addition we ordered the duck salad for £25, as we were still hungry I’ve has this dish maybe 20 plus times, the portion has dramatically shrunk, and was not presented prior to preparing the duck. All in our bill was £200 with just 2 carafes of wine. It didn’t feel enough of a treat for the money.
The food was excellent, the staff great and the service spot on. The room was noisy but this actually grew on you, a little dark but again this did get better as the night went on. Throughly enjoyed the meal and the place. Cost was a little on the high side but after all it was Chinese New Year and the special menu. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone.
This is the second time, I've been here. I do like the food.
I saw a burst of dust when the waiter unfold our napkins.
Food is extraordinarily but in very small size.
Overall the price is a bit high for what we had.
Tucked away on a poorly lit road near Soho may give the wrong initial impression to some, but from the moment I entered the venue to the time I left, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. We were greeted by two friendly staff members at the front desk before being shown to an expansive bar where we ordered cocktails. I opted for the Black Forest Martini which was delicious.
We were earlier than the time of our booking but we were not made to wait. We were shown to our table after about 10 minutes at the bar where we were offered champagne before the food started to arrive. Everything that passed my lips was delicious and I could not fault it. We ordered the beef as our main course after the excellent dim sum. The beef was exquisite. Each chunk of meat was was perfectly succulent and mouthwatering.
Aside from the food, Hakkasan's interiors are coolly urban with ambience in abundance.
Unpleasant Sunday lunchtime dinning experience .The restaurant was full of very loud children and toddlers running amok. The staff and management appeared to do little to rectify the situation. We had a highchair complete with screaming baby within 10cm of our table.
We did ask to move but were told it was not possible. Will not be returning and will chose another restaurant for our family birthday celebration meals in the future.
Food is outstanding and well worth the price. Staff were professional and not overly formal.
They used to have a dim sum menu where the choice was brilliant.... ever since they try to take choice away and just push for one or two platter options only , Value and Taste goes downhill
It was a special place before But now these ever restrictive menus pushing you to choose a fix menu style where choice is between the useless,, the tasteless and overpriced
Too bad for such a great icon of a restaurant to go from client focused taste factory to marketing plan implementing conveyor belt
I’ve been to several Michelin restaurants, this is the worst. Too loud and too dark! We booked table for 9.30, we where not impressed by the wine selections. Waited at the bar 20 min before we got a small table too close to those who sat beside us. My friend got the starter first, I had to wait for mine until she was finished eating. Told the waitress that we wanted the main course at the same time. When i finally got my starter, and just had a few bites, then my main came. Wasn’t halfway in to my starter yet. Then I told the waiter that we asked that we would be served at the same time ( it’s not nice to eat alone!) when
I was almost finished with my main, my friend main finally arrived!
The prises are too high and the portions are too small. Really disappointed! How this restaurant got its star I don’t know, but I’m guessing those who gave it drank too much at the bar first, and probably deaf. Won’t recommend this to no one, at least not those who know what good service and luxury is.
The service was very slow we had to wait 20 minutes to get our table which we’d already booked, the food was great but tiny portions.
Went for an early evening return visit to Hakkasan. Venue was quite quiet when we arrived but soon filled up. Food was excellent as usual, but it can be quite expensive.
We visited Hakkasan Hanway Place at the beginning of February having dined there before. We were seated in a very quiet section, on our own for 30 minutes and to begin with even the staff seemed to have forgotten we were there. Starters were fine but the main course was disappointing - we ordered a main dish off the Special New Years menu (£34) and when it came it was cold. We sent it back and got another - this time the bowl was hot but the actual food was just warm. Very small portions compared to Black Truffle Duck dish we ordered. Rest of meal was fine but not great, nothing was wow!. It was tasty but nothing more. It seemed the staff were either very busy - we could not tell from the dark corner where we sat, or they were just very disorganised and chaotic. Larger groups seemed to get a lot more attention from the staff. On entering the receptionist was so glum and unfriendly it was scary. She was the same when we were leaving. Actually, when we were leaving it was chaos at the desk - with at least 7 staff behind the counter, some taking in coats, others handing them out, customers trying to get to counter to hand in or collect coats, some just trying to get to the door to leave. Others were coming in and were pounced upon. I approached the counter and asked for a taxi to be called. The main receptionist then barked at her colleague and said she would deal with us. Then she sent her colleague away and asked me for my name and reservation time. It was chaos. It's a shame. I have been many times before and always enjoyed my experience. But this time it was really quite poor, particularly for a Michelin starred restaurant. The friendliest person who provided the best service was the doorman. Shame. I won't be rushing back.
