Bad food bad service !

Food is pretty good, but not necessarily outstanding. Service and atmosphere are ok as well. Cocktails and Food is very expensive though - beware.

MC dondalds can learn a lot from this
'fast' concept as hakkasan looks to be awarded the upper class fast food restaurant in London. Just finished my starter when the waiter served main... When we asked to wait a bit he become very rude... Bad experience.

Wouldn’t let us sit downstairs despite booking a month ago - seems they are giving priority over later bookings. Host snatched our coats out our hand and was generally rude (I.e not welcoming). Was 40 mins before I got my first drink and ordered only to be told there was no duck (half 7 on a Tuesday night) with no pre warning as we were sat and no apology. Music was way too loud upstairs. Sea bass was amazing though! Service wasn’t memorable..staff seems flustered and over worked: avoid in busy season

Great food, beautiful decor and nice ambience but cold, transactional and even snooty service.
Love the darkness of the place, service and food. The music was a bit load so difficult for have conversations..but will come again for sure.

The server was not willing to be helpful and he didn’t give us the right information about our choice. We had the duck and it was big enough for 4 people and we were 2.

Food quality was outstanding. Excellent service and constantly being referred to see if you need help. Food did not take long to come and was well cooked. Definitely recommended
Some of the dishes were outstanding, while others were more average. Very good coctails. Did NOT like the way we as customers are first sent to the bar, and then rushed through a 7 course meal in just two hours from arrival until you get the bill at the same time as dessert are served and are more or less asked to hurry. Reminds me more of a money machine than fine dining.

Party of four. Sat on the ground floor for the first time - where the music was horribly loud. Hard to maintain a conversation. Good advice from waiter to order from 2 set menus. I said I would like to order extra rice as I have big appetite. Waiter twice insisted I wouldn't need it. (I did and had to order it later). During payment, there was a transmission problem with the card machine and the waiter went to speak to the manager which made me feel uncomfortable - especially when he referred to the bill and so revealed the cost of the meal to my guests. The food itself was excellent. But it made us realise that on a previous visit two weeks earlier - also 4 people with a set menu - some of the food did not arrive! We had several more items on the second visit. When you're paying more than £500 for a meal for 4, I think it should be smoother than this. The dreadful volume of music on the ground floor makes it unlikely I would choose the Hakkasan again.
Again a great te at Hakkasan Mayfair. This time we took the Pearl menu. Highlights of this menu are the Peking Duck and the signature dessert (chocolate treat in overdrive). One tip for the team: next time, if one of the table guests is in the restroom, please wait a moment with serving out until that person is back. Ranking comes with obligations I would say!
The food was incredible. The flavors were amazing.
The food was (and is) always outstanding. The service was terrible. We arrived five minutes early for our reservation, introduced ourselves at reception, and were brusquely told our table wasn’t ready and we’d need to go to the bar and wait. We did so, and fifteen minutes passed. We walked to the front and asked, politely, if our table was ready, and the man at the front told us, rudely, “no, I would have told you if it was”. Fifteen minutes later (twenty five minutes after our reserved time) we asked again, and he wordlessly walked us, a group of three, to a table clearly meant for two, and walked away. We then waited ten minutes for our server to arrive. The food itself arrived on time and delicious, but the getting there was beyond disappointing.
Worst service ever. Extremely noisy. Bad food, and expensive.
Good quality food but pricey if you want to try the duck (which is a must). Service very distant and removed. The loud music make it feel like you are in a nightclub more than a restaurant so I wouldn’t recommend for dates.
Booked a table for 9pm, called them to let them I will be running late and they told us they will sort us out a table once we get there. Upon arriving about 15 mins late still being in the grace period, they put us on a bar table which was annoying plus no menu was given to us for a good 10 mins. Finally got the menu, took them a while to approach us to ask if we needed anything or if we are ready to order or not. Ordered the food after a while my missus gets her food and mine is no where to be seen. Got my food too after a while. Took us good 20 mins to pay the bill and leave as there was no one to attend to us. Did not pay any service charge. Was really disappointed with the service. Food was really good tho. Would probably go back for just the food and that’s all.

Reasonable food, a little pricey and quiet loud background music. Vegan dim sum was very good and worth trying. Mains were pretty good. Good service
Very nice meal but I find the 2 hour time limit for a table of 5 quite annoying, especially when spending £690. I think for a table of two 2 hours is fine. We felt rushed out at the end of our meal.
Its great they are busy and taking more bookings all night long but eventually I feel greed spoils the overall 5star experience . Guest should be put first, I think 30 minutes more on bookings over 4 is fair, at leats they should give guest the option of 2 or 2.5 hours.

Amazing menu, food and drinks.
Shame the staff are arrogant and unfriendly. We have eaten in many London restaurant to this standard but felt this place was let down by their front of house staff.
We were made to feel rushed and unwelcome - one of the hostess’s even took the drinks menu from my friends hand and ushered her to our table only to then walk off and not even offer the drink she was waiting to order.
Cannot fault the quality of the food and drinks, we really enjoyed our meal. Just a shame the staff can’t smile!
Great food and love the cool vibes but the place is a machine now - they really pack people in and could have done with another 30 mins or so at table But a great night was had by all.

Lost it’s charm
Service was awful. Not sure I would go again or would recommend to others. Really disappointing
- 5/5 Food: Amazing, hats off to the kitchen staff
- 3/5 Service: walked up to the front desk to be seated and waited awkwardly whilst two of the female staff members argued in front of us. Weird start but okay hah Waiter was super friendly so our experience got better! But then we ordered food and found a hair in one of the dishes. Normally we wouldn't care but since I was paying for a Michelin star meal on our anniversary, I kindly told our waiter and he very kindly replaced our meals and said it was covered. Great waiter! But upon receiving the bill from another waiter, I noticed we were charged double for all the meals replaced and charged for a bottle of water that never came to our table. I ended up correcting the waiter and he rectified the bill but overall probably better communication amongst the team would be helpful.
- Atmosphere was nice, food amazing, staff on individually seemed nice but need to tighten up communication amongst themselves :)
Bad service, waited over 30 minutes for starters. Noise level was extremely high could barely hear the people on the other side of my table. Food wasn't that great and defiantly not worth the price.
£110 duck - 10 small pie size pieces of crispy duck on pancake and then one small bowl of duck meat that was enough for only 3 people.
£17 for very small soup portion (and the taste was pretty meh)
all in all not a great experience, will not be returning to Hakkasan

Some traditional dishes were taken out of the menu, like Pipa Duck, which we liked very much.

Having dined at Hakkasan in Shanghai, San Francisco and last year in London we found the experience this time somewhat different. The service and the Peking Duck was excellent but overall the quality of the meals did not meet our expectations. Last year’s meal in Lindon was much better.
