I booked this reservation for my 25th birthday I’m ex army and this is my first birthday being back in the country my experience at this restaurant was one of the worst and we seen with our own eyes more then one person separate from my party that was unhappy with the same things that we was
Firstly on arrival we had to wait 25/30 minutes to be seated at our tables although we was on time for our table we did arrive 2/3 minutes early no longer. Once we was seated at the table we wasn’t approached with menus until we asked for a menu witch was also another 15/20 minute wait by the time we did have a waiter approach us he was so rude and disrespectful to my self my 2 friends and my pregnant partner
We was enquiring about choices on the menu as we didn’t understand fully he pushed his hand in my friends face asif to say stop talking then walked off and told us he’ll get someone else to come to us as he didn’t understand what we was trying to explain I did then approach a receptionist I didn’t get a chance to get her name black woman she was very helpful in trying to resolve my situation once I sat back at my table there was another lady who said she was the manager who did help us get what we wanted to order once we received our food it was of poor quality for the price we paid it lacked flavour to the meat and most the stuff honestly didn’t taste any better or was any better cooked then my local Chinese in Birmingham witch would of cost me 20/30 £ for what I got at hakkasans I’m extremely disappointed as I was looking forward to today we spent over £400 at hakkasans for a £2 night £1 for the service and £1 for the food the only staff in there who deserve respect is the door men the bar staff and receptionists the rest of them in there don’t have no people skills or understand the importance of good customer service in my opinion the restaurant is “London Wrapped in Gold” it per trays perfect high end quality food where as truly i could eat somewhere better for less
- Food was ok, a little too oily for my liking.
- Staff were very polite
- I enjoyed the “writing a wish” cards that were given at the end that could be hung up around the restaurant.
- The main negative is that I’m really not happy about the way my bill was handled. I paid £100 deposit which was taken from my card prior to arriving at the restaurant and then I was still charged full price for the bill. The next day (today) I contacted open table to ask them when my deposit will be refunded and they said to me that they can’t help me and that Hakkasan had a note on my account to deduct my deposit from my bill.. the staff didn’t mention this at all so I ended up paying the full bill price. Now I have to contact the restaurant directly to arrange for a refund of my deposit. For somewhere that’s supposed to be so high quality for service, I had a pretty bad experience in this case.
Hopefully it will be resolved swiftly.
Great restaurant, delicious food, friendly personal and reasonable prices. We are love it and we’re looking to visit again soon 🍹🍹🍹🍹
Overall very good but the music for 5iclock was too bassey and slightly too loud
Service and food was excellent
The food was good, especially the dim sum selection and baked chicken in the Year of the Tiger menu. I was expecting a little more from the wagu beef and the desert wasn't anything special at all, especially for the price. We had no alcohol and it came to over £300 for two. I couldn't detect the Michelin star factor to be honest. The ambiance was dramatic but the tables for two are very close together and our server didn't explain the dishes clearly when they arrived, which was a shame as that's always interesting. I enjoyed the meal won't be rushing back. Definitely felt like a chain - not personal and was lacking the care and attention in all aspects that you receive in other similarly priced restaurants.
Great food and location. I love Hakkasan! Only had an issue when they closed bar without calling last rounds.
The drinks were just a bit slow as food came before drinks but all very good and friendly staff.
The food is as always consistent and excellent. We were a table of 2 on a date on the first floor. There were a group of 6 young men mid 20's, there were extremely noisy and had no consideration for the rest of the dinners. The restaurant staff should have spoke to the table and informed the quieten down. The other point I feel Hakkasan should do is to place large tables and those celebrating to the downstairs area and they should retain the upstairs for more intimate dinners of 2. This would allow all parties to enjoy their evenings. Overall for £400 the evening was not enjoyable given the loud inconsiderate 6 men for whom the staff did nothing about.
The food was nice however the service was terrible. The waiter wasn’t attentive at all. For a restaurant of such a 5* status, the service was poor. Had to constantly ask for our waiter, e.g we waited a good 30 mins before we had to call someone that we wanted to order otherwise no one would’ve come to take our order.
Gorgeous place , staff so friendly and nice . Food excellent, as was the service . Great venue with a club like feel .
Lovely food and nice relaxed pace to the meal.
We love going to Hakkasan but this time was not enjoyable. It was far too busy and it affected service. We had to keep reminding to get our order and the tables are way too close. Not paying a cafe price so expect better.
Lovely decor and great ambience. Portions on the taste set menu were tiny, cocktails were really good. Dim sum looked good but no flavour had to go china town after. Was quite pricey for what you get. Prefer Novikov Italian for a nice meal or china town for Chinese!
I had booked a table for the taste of hakasan deal, but failed to read the small print, put my hands up for that, deal was only until 6pm and I booked for 8pm, didn’t read the small print. When trying to tell the waitress that I had booked the deal I was dismissed like a little school kid. To add to that a waiter dropped a plate of food and it went all down my back. To be fair I was asked if I was ok, but then told don’t worry it was dry food! And passed a Napkin from the neighboring table to clean myself! I expected a higher standard and for the price we paid a better service. Was generally disappointing. Not my first time there. It used to be better.
Portions are big but pricey at the same time. Would prefer smaller portions so its possible to try various dishes. Salt & Pepper squid was delicious. Seabass devine. Crispy prawns great.
Food was good, service even better but a little cramped in terms of seating and also music was very loud on the ground floor near the bar.
Food was excellent.
Didnt find the new set menu very interesting as it did not have the signature dish- truffle duck roast.
Music and general ambience was a bit loud so had to talk quite loudly to my brother. Other people were also having to shout so could hear their conversations
Would suggest milder music for first half of evening, perhaps making it more ‘clubby’ after 9 pm
Service and waiters very attentive, altogether lovely experience
It was a great experience to try the taste menu and the service was amazing from all Staff. The food was so delicious I wanted more.
A total pleasure. Will certainly recommend to others.
