Very disappointing experience! I booked for 2 people at 6.30pm on the taste of Hakkasan menu for £32 pp and received my confirmation. On arrival I was told this menu in only avail up to 5pm and therefore I would have to choose a different menu or eat from the a la carte menu (both significantly more expensive). Previously open table has restricted reservations on deals to the tine period the deal is available, totally disappointing and mis sold. I wouldn’t recommend dining err unless you have a big budget!
Hakkasan never fails - whether its lunch or dinner, always a fine dining experience. Especially love the squid
poor service. The waiter paid us no attention but was very attentive to the table next to us. . But I was charged £13.5% service charge
Celebrated with my boyfriend for his birthday, the food was unbelievable, wasn't expecting such large portions, so there was quite bit left over but could not fault it. Would highly recommend. Quite expensive but if its for a special occasion why not. Will defo return.
We have visited both hakasan hanway place and Hakkasan Mayfair I found the decor is nicer in hanway place but the while food is excellent in both Mayfair won it for me , recommend a visit to either
Excellent food and service was everything I expected and more. Great set meal Dim Sum.
The food was outstanding but the service was really poor. No one would come to our table for 15 minutes to even say hello after we were seated. I had to get the manager to take our order. Then we had to wait for our drinks to arrive - this time I asked the host as she was the only one around. It wouldn’t hurt them to smile a little too. I wouldn’t go back. I must admit the food was fabulous but the service ruined our experience completely. Sorry guys. It’s a no from me.
Great service and amazing food! The bar was vibrant and this was a perfect place for a date night with my partner! Thank you for making date night special
Excellent food, great service, no waiting time.
We were there to celebrate our daughter’s 20th birthday. Waiters were quite friendly and accomodating.
The cocktails were a few notches lower than expected and the music level deafening!
I have no idea why people would want to endure such loud repetitive music...
And the price is way up there.
We have been there a few times already. Will keep on going back. Fantastic dining experience, the peking duck and dim sum are a must, good choice of cocktails, extensive wine list. Very friendly waiter. Warning: Always packed, a bit noisy. Quality comes at a price.
Amazing food as always the surpreme dim sum were lovely
Excellent food and more roomy and lighter than the Hakkasan at Hanway place. The service was friendly and helpful
I must say although the food is pricey you do get a decent amount of food. And its filling. I was there for my birthday and the staff were nice and catered to our needs. I will visit again
Very fast service, actually too fast! Very American style...
So many staff working the restaurant, but no one knew what the other was doing. First items ordered took 45 minutes and we were left begging for water and had to ask to have dirty dishes removed from the table. Not again.
Wanted to try this restaurant as received good reviews from friends and a friend had already been to Yuatcha and loved it.
Staff at the reception were nice and welcoming.
We selected the signature menu for £70. Bit of an error. We should have stuck with just dim sum as that was the best. The rest of the food i.e. mains was not as good we thought. Some dishes a little too bland and others to sweet. You do get a lot of food.
Service a little slow initially as it took a bit of time to get our drinks. However, it did get better.
Would I go back... Perhaps. Maybe to the other branch and probably stay with dim sum menu.
Overly difficult accommodating gluten free dietary needs. They did provided a clear menu with gf options listed, however would not offer the Sunday set lunch option with gf dishes for the starter. I was told to order the larger and double the price, individual fish menu option for myself (plus a starter if I wanted one) even though the fish was included in the set lunch option as a lunch sized serving. The whole experience was tedious and unnecessary.
Attended Hakkasan this Saturday for anniversary with partner. Table booked for 9.30 had drinks at bar from 9 all good then finally got on the table at 21.55.
Waiter dropped a drink over my partner then
Later when clearing table dropped food over her.
The manager was great gave us money off bill and offered to pay dry cleaning but over all special occasion was ruined.
We waited almost half an hour to be seated.
We ordered a plate and didn’t like it at all, the waitress took it back and did not charge it , it was classy. The food is good , service is fast . dark and loud but nice atmosphere.
As a long term patron of The Hakkasan brand for many years I’ve dined in Hakkasan all around the world. It is by far my favourite restaurant, however Saturday was disappointing.
The bar service upstairs was phenomenal as it always is our server remembered from my last visit that I enjoy gin and even remembered the my preferred gin - that is a world class service.
That’s where it slightly went wrong. We were seated downstairs, it was very busy. We ordered starters and as usual asked for 2 x duck salad to follow once the starters were cleared. We would then order mains at that point.
Unfortunately the duck salad never arrived - it was due with the mains so we cancelled it. Our somellier took the order for our bottle but never returned, we had to request another somellier to re-take the drinks order.
2nd round of still water and sparking water requested twice.
Server spilt chilli oil over my mobile - not a problem it was an accident, I feel the staff are rushed by the management or there isn’t enough staff - this was never the case at this location.
Starters were coming out one at a time with long pauses in between so there was never enough food on the table for 6 people to enjoy as there was simply not enough food there, despite ordering plenty of food.
The server was pleasant and he apologised several times it was no fault of his.
In summary, too busy, your emphasis is to turn the table in 2 hours which is fine - we can eat In 2 hours but then please deliver your side of the deal, to provide adequate staff to provide a world class service, so that we do not have to chase you for missing drinks, missing food.
I was disappointed that we were not sat in the main restaurant
Style over substance. Just a nice Chinese meal. Could get the same from Mr Kongs for £40.
First class as always
Booked table for 2 on Saturday. We arrived early so had a few drinks at the bar before being taken downstairs to our table, upstairs is brighter downstairs is more cosy and intimate as the lighting is a lot darker. We had booked the taste of hakkasan and I informed the waiter who made me feel a bit small and like something in the bottom of his shoe with his attitude and remarked that we had to make a decision quickly as it’s only served til 7pm and we had booked our table for 6.30 pm I Was not informed of this when booking. He also asked if there were any allergies and I explained about an egg yolk intolerence/ allergy he went off and spoke to the chefs and informed me the only thing suitable for me off the whole menu would be the vegetarian chicken. I decided to go against his advice and order the veggie dim sum and beef in merlot. Thankfully no ill effects have materialised. The waiter did become much more friendlier after our first interaction and redeemed himself throughout the course of our meal. The food was presented beautifully and each course arrived quite quickly however for me the food didn’t live upto it’s appearance. I found the dim sum rather tasteless apart from the chive one and the main to be rather greasy even the seasonal vegetables. For me it wasn’t anything special I have had much better and substantially cheaper locally. I think the hype has made it a little overrated and they have forgotten what good food is. It’s was more about looks rather than taste. I am glad we didn’t choose the al a carte or set menus which cost so much more. The cocktails we had upstairs while waiting were amazing though and and much more friendlier
Great location and excellent food.
It is disappointing a high end restaurant is unable to provide a sufficiently air conditioned and comfortable environment for eating, especially during the great weather we are having.
Food was good - however it was extremely warm inside with no air con. This meant that we did not feel as hungry and could not enjoy our meal to the fullest due to overheating. The waiter was great and attentive.
Excellent as always! Crispy duck salad to die for! Excellent service! Tea and cake dessert; new and exciting presentation!
I believe the service was not the best that I had. Staff was very unpleasant and grumpy.
The food was not too bad but quite oily. The desserts are the best so far. Not recommended!
We were on family dinner and we experienced very wrong approach by stuff. First we wait 30 minutes on table just to have water refill , and then additional 15 min for order. When asked our waiter to recommend something simple for our 10 years old son, she recommended GBP 75 dish!!?? Not very polite service, but service charge of 13,5 % was included on bill. Definitely not a place to enjoy excellent food ....unfortunately it became place just to impress someone with no better experience . Pity, it was great place to spend evening years ago...
Delicious dim sum - we dined on the Taste of Hakkasan menu at 6pm on a Friday evening which was well worth the money for 3 courses and a cocktail. We will be back!
Amazing food and great service. We had the Taste of Hakkasan and it has excellent value for money. The cocktails were really good as was the food, and the portions very generous. Will definitely return!
BEEN TO THIS RESTAURANT BEFORE ALWAYS BUSY WITH A GOOD ATMOSPHERE AND EXCELLENT FOOD.
never fails to deliver - but this time the food was off scale good
Amazing food and service until the 20 minute wait at the end of our meal to pay the bill due to card machines not working!
My mum and I booked a table here to celebrate my 21st birthday. Not only was the service impeccable, but the food was absolutely delicious and a complimentary, surprise birthday dessert came out after my main. We will definitely be returning.
Very disappointing the other night. The service from start to finish was terrible, we have eaten at this restaurant several times and lots of times at Hanway Place, never known service like this and not acceptable at the price. Food good as usual.
The best duck on the world! Thanks for a night so special! Our aniversary was amazing in this restaurant!
Extremely poor service. Lack of preparation - I asked for a bottle of champagne to be waiting on the table at our arrival as a surprise - unfortunately it wasn’t there. We were then put on a table in the corner as all the other tables were also reserved... the majority were still empty by the time we left. The food was good but many things on the menu were either sold out or unavailable. It may be that we visited the restaurant on a one off bad day but I doubt I’ll be revisiting soon.
Faultless as ever. Phi pa duck and water prawns too good.
