Love this place for brunch but it is great any time of the day!
It was nice but felt a bit rushed to get out of the venue.
Lovely service, the food was alright (Mac and cheese for £15 was okay but the fish and chips looked good). Would be back for drinks not necessarily for food as I find it a bit expensive for what it is. Would also appreciate more veggie options.
Lovely meal at lunchtime. Food was delicious and staff were very attentive.
We were a group of nine and had some sharing plates and drinks - the service was great and everything went well.
The quality of the food was mixed. My friend had venison which was very tough. (They didn't charge and offered an alternative.) I had a Clava Brie Wellington which was good but came with very tasteless green beans. I wouldn't bother going again.
Very tasty food. Great service.
Poached eggs were a little overdone though. And the music was too loud for breakfast.
Would certainly return though.
Great service and delicious food!
Eaten here a few times during the day and really like it so decided to go in the evening for dinner. Menu was nice but food, particularly main course, did not measure up either in quality or price. Cold vegetables, dry turkey. We were pretty disappointed as was Christmas meal with friends.
Food portions seemed mean for the price but not excellent enough quality to make up for that. Asked for extra sides which didn't arrive until we'd nearly finished. Had to scrape most of the horrible sweet chutney off the croque madame we ordered. Different waiters told us different things about what we could order in small portions for kids. Poor acoustic - everyone in the restaurant seemed to be shouting over each other. Quite disappointed overall.
Food & ambience was very good however we had to go look for someone to order more drinks & desserts
Team Christmas lunch
Excellent from start to finish , staff looked after us really well, food was on time and was very good
Staff did basic taking food orders one member of our party asked for a steak medium rare came out medium well done chips were cold restaurant wasn’t busy but no one approached our table to ask how our meal was.
Good environment, lovely attentive staff although the noise level was too much for me...couldn't hear others speaking due to hearing loss.
The rest of the party enjoyed the food and location was just right for us on Sunday.
Very nice, reasonable value. The tiramisu was very disappointing.
Food takes quite a while to come so it made the evening quite a bit longer than anticipated - but when it does, it is really excellent. Burger and bun delicious, cauliflower cheese phenomenal. Pigs in blankets and haloumi fries great. One quibble - chips that came with fish were not cooked enough.Waiter remembered everything we ordered with every little annoying change we made PLUS who was eating what. He should work in Vegas card counting. Service was really, really good.
Such a lovely, relaxed place to sit for Brunch. Food and Service both really top notch - thank you!!
From pictures on the restaurant's website, this promised a bistro feel, however it proved to be more of a nice pub grub setting. This meant loud music and large boisterous crowds. They were slow to serve, and I was disappointed with the service - particularly when asked a question about food that we ordered, we were met with terse answers. I appreciate that it was a very busy evening, but we were ultimately disappointed. If you are after a pub experience, perhaps you will be better served, but please do not expect to have meaningful conversations for all the noisy atmosphere.
Generally good - food and service very good. Only complaint was that the ladies toilets let the place down. Baby Changing Facilities were filthy!
Lovely place for brunch! Good food, good venue and good location for a wander afterwards....
Service was so slow... 1 hour from sitting to receiving meals. We eventually had to ask for our food.
Waiting staff were not very happy or accommodating when we added an extra person.
Child’s meal... risotto wasn’t well cooked or tasty.
Music kept being turned up making conversation difficult for a Sunday lunchtime
Service was very slow. 2 tables that came in after us were served and received their food before us. We waited 30 mins to give our food order and 60 mins overall for food. The restaurant wasn’t busy enough to warrant this as when I’ve visited previously my food has come more quickly at busier times.
Very pleasant meal and great service. Noise level a bit intrusive at times.
Another excellent lunch at Hamiltons. Friendly staff and good food served in a timely manner.
Great place for brunch, lunch or dinner as well as a relaxed drink or coffee.
Poor quality of food and very limited menu. Nice enough staff but basically would not return. Disappointing.
Lovely lunch - they gave us one of the tables with sofas - good service and really tasty food. Bill was £70 for lunch for 4 so good value too
Booked for a brunch on Sunday morning. We waited a full hour before our food arrived from ordering by which time all the tea and coffee was either drunk or cold. Very slow service. Food was acceptable when it arrived and we were given complimentary tea/coffee to have with our breakfast and 20% off the bill to compensate for our long wait which we appreciated the gesture.
The atmosphere in Hamilton's is always good, good music and nice energy. The staff are really nice and friendly, but it's not overpowering. The food is good!
Really disappointing food and staff! Food was poor quality but pricey and staff were non-interested and slow but a hefty service charge was added to our bill anyway. Wouldn't recommend.
We booked specifically with a dog and we're seated away from the main eating area on a corridor pathway to the toilets. We spent the whole time moving our dog for people walking to the loo and he still got stood on quite badly. It spoiled the evening so wouldn't recommend as dog friendly, but nice otherwise
We had 6 small plates between two, one too much: scampi, fried in batter and slightly burnt, polenta fried in crumbs and green beans sauteed in garlic and a lot of oil (forget your cholesterol count), pig cheek salad (I didn't try it), haloumi salad (dryish) and another salad. All rather uninspiring. The cocktails were excellent but at £8 a shot not great value. It does not compare well with other gastro pubs/bistros but might be a place for a group night out if the food isn't important.
The food is good and it’s a great spot, it’s at the top end of the price range though for what you get but they get away with it because it is Stockbridge after all
delicious food in a nice atmosphere, slightly too noisy but other than that would definitely go back
Nette und freundliche Bedienung, guter Service, Essen ausgezeichnet, Sitzkomfort eher unbequem, Geräuschpegel extrem, Unterhaltung war kaum möglich
I absolutely love this place. Been there few times already and I highly recomend it. The food is very tasty and the staff is very friendly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lovely food and a good choice on the menu. Good service and lovely atmosphere
They were not aware of our booking that we placed with open table but fortunately had a table.
The food took 50 minutes to arrive. The staff did apologise and when the food came it was delicious. They discounted our bill due to the length of wait. Again we would have stayed for coffee/dessert but staff never noticed we had finished our mains for some time by which time we were ready to leave.
We booked for brunch for 11 people and the table itself had plenty of space and the service was good. It did take around an hour for our food to arrive and most plates of food weren't that hot. I was the only one who'd ordered the veggie breakfast which I enjoyed and was hot, and I would go back / recommend but probably in a smaller group.
