Visited here last Sunday for Father's Day lunch with my husband, daughter (7) and mother and father. The food was first class (my mother who normally can find a fault couldn't stop hhhmmming and ahhhhhhing and said it was best roast beef she had ever had). We all enjoyed our starters (salmon salad, tomato soup and asparagus with poached egg) - all sampling each others' orders and commenting how wonderful each was. Desserts were to die for also - brownies with mint ice cream and panacotta - all generous sized portions. My 7 year old ate my father's fish and said she would like me to cook this for her at home! All in all a wonderful lunch and wonderful memories. The garden is endless and we enjoyed playing "stick" football and running around exploring. The décor in the drawing room was very chic (lime green always works for me), although we ate in the dining room. Another review stated that this is not a place for children, but I would argue that it is a perfect place for children with such extensive grounds to explore with them. They also provide a childrens menu, although this is not advertised on line - they will simply cook what you request...……….within reason! This was a 10/10 experience, not simply for the wonderful food, but also the house and gardens, which were lovely. I recommend Sunday Lunch here if you want to create special memories. Others were having Afternoon Tea in the drawing room and said it was the best Afternoon Tea they had ever experienced and that the sandwiches were fantastic! It would be tough to return and not have the Sunday Lunch again though! MoreOpenTable Diner -
